Just noticed the player has one finger missing. And yet, what a versatile musician and demonstrator of this instrument's capabilities! Don't underestimate what 9 fingers can do.
Actually, this was next level. Kudos to player! I've been playing piano for about 40 years as a happy amateur and normally I feel these demos can be... underwhelming, static and cheezy. Not this one! Just add a good singer and do some Mic-in Harmonics following these guys playing! Instant hit! 🙂
Thank you. Fantastic demo! Not only is that keyboard incredible, but your playing is sublime. The two combine to make the best keyboard demo I've ever seen yet on youtube. I currently have the Pa4x, and trying to decide if I should upgrade. This might have made my decision for me. To anyone else about to listen to this - use a GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES!!! You'll have shivers down your spine.....
Thank you so much for showcasing this product. There are very good sounds here and there. I like the 76 and 88 keys version is available for those like me who prefer a full size keyboard. That being said at such a high price I was expecting perfection. For a fraction of the Korg price I prefer the Yamaha PSR SX900. The sounds in the korg are warmer but to me the sounds of the yamaha are more exquisite. But at the end is about preference. Thanks once again for the professional demonstration.
The SX900 is great value for money, but the bigger sample set of the 5X just makes it more versatile. Demonstrators often cherry pick the new sounds that seems appealing, but are not usually what the audience wants. You have to try the 5X for yourself and explore the sounds, then only you will understand the difference between this and the SX-900. Plus, this keyboard isnt complete yet.
@@ablesam thanks for the reply. I think at that price range it should have a big sample set, in fact everything about the functionality should be big. But like you said maybe till I try in person I might have a different opinion. No trying say the keyboard is not good, but does the price justify the quality of the sound I heard? No for me. Then again in person maybe is a different story. Blessings 🙏 and thanks for the showcasing.
What a classy set of tunes you have chosen and played beautifully, Michel. You succeeded in making this arranger keyboard sound like a professional musical instrument, compared to others that bring out the cheesiness in it.
I have the korg pax5 and believe me this keyboard is amazing , the sound on this keyboard blow away the ones on the yamaha sx900 . I sell the yamaha sx900 and it was the best decision ever , the sound on korg pa5x make the sound on the yamaha sx900 sound like a casio toy
The most big point of this arranger - and noone mentions this - is the 3band EQ in the Mixer. If you can EQ the instruments, you can make really professional arrangements.
Awesome demos and great playing! Finally the some pianos sound great on the PA 5x....Korg had never got it right. Its got something to do with the decay of the sound which tapers off unnaturally. Once I got to play the German Grand on a Kronos 2, played a few runs/arpeggios and notes were cutting off. I guess it ran out of polyphony. Seriously it looked like a joke to me. Have never had these kind of issues on a Yamaha. Also feel there is some change in the Genos piano too. Even the newer Roland keyboards too. Maybe they are trying combination of physical modeling+sampling which somehow doesnt feel natural at all and sound synthetic. Some thoughts regarding the styles-The snare on the Korg styles always sounds so cheesy. Also not sure if they fixed the jerk when a variation change is done on some styles on the Korg. So unprofessional :-) and they say Professional Arranger. Also dont hear much difference in the styles department. They mostly sound the same.
I wish they would have given us more PCM sounds. Some of these sound plastics, while some sounds are very expressive, The UI is amazing though, but for the price some libraries from the kronos would have been cool
Bonjour.
Go.👍.
I really like the first two pianos on here. I must say, they're better than the Yamaha Genos! The strings are still better on the Genos. The first strings on here reminded me of the ConcertStrings from the PSR-SX600. The brass is really interesting. I like the wider range of things you can do on here, even if the sound is slightly better on the Genos. The acoustic guitar at 4:27 is on the same level as the SteelGuitar on the PSR-SX600/700, Yamaha has a better version on the SX900 and the Genos, IMO. The electric guitar is pretty good! The acoustic bass is better on the Genos than on here. The suitcase electric piano sounds are basically the same as on the Yamaha PSR-SX600/700. The FM piano is not as good as on the Genos. The church organ is really good! The ectric organ, on the other hand, is way better than the Genos! There are actual release samples, not just the clicks at the start of the sound. Yamaha should really make a Genos2 with organs that actually have key-off samples like the ones found on here. The synth/pad sounds on here are just as good as on the Genos, they can be used in different situations. The drums on here are really good, but they're not on the level of Yamaha's Revo!drums. The ones on here do not have the wave cycling like they do on the Genos. The accordions on here are on the same level as the Genos, I'd say. The nylon guitar or whatever it is, is almost as good as the FlamencoGuitar or SpanishGuitar on the Genos.
the pianos kick genos out of the sandbox, strings are very realistic and therefore difficult to embedded into an arrangement. The old whawha trumpet is genious. I would really hear some choirs ... how would they count against the gospel choir of the genos ...
Hello, I would like to ask you a question from my ignorance, ..... how do I leave a left hand chorus in sustain without having a pedal on my pa5x? thanks for your help.
Interesting demo ...Hey Korg Akai MPC 61 key has enetered the market n raised d bar ....Isn't it time for Korg to upgrade d Pa series to be able to do more professional studio grade work by incorporating a fully functional editable high quality audio recording section instead of mp3? Kronos has 16track audio which can be added to d Pa5x or Pa6x. If u scared adding fully functional audio cost may increase d cost of d workstation ...you can revive one of Korg previous audio workstation (Korg D 8 or 16, D 24 etc) exclusive audio mixer workstation with special sync functionality to be sold separately. Those who prefer could buy separately. That if Korg wants to b on top of this competition.
I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!
Is the ORG 2020 a mock of this, bought it from Sofeh Sunrise, and downloaded, two sound bundles with 400 Korg PS instruments each. While some arent playable with tuning and distortion issues, Have Use or grouped maybe 2 dozen sounds that are good; pianos, brass, strings and some expressive sax and electric pianos that are sterile to lush samples. Now, there are some raw dog samples that were sampled with what sounds like an open mic capturing some moving harmonics and howls and honks of bells, tines and damper noise that seems to get regenerated back thru a room mic and or amped speaker that will feedback like a hot rodded guitar, Hold on to some chords for bit and hear the phasor and flanged overtones. Never really used those auto chord bass walk ups and accompaniments but is there if you're a solo player. Try to dwl the older apk and build number versions. There was no manual and most quick guides were in Arabic or Persian,(pardon my guessing) and distributed from Australia. But not much on the tube about it and use controls and sliders, and "styles were words like"skake and "conne tSo you got to start pressing some buttons ,
thank you Korg and maybe Yamaha? and that gentleman on the the otiginal hardware model. Just remember except for a few effects the sounds are mostly play the presets and remember when you lugged around that Rhodes with only one sound. OKAY, now let's have some fun,,,!!°😮😅😊
