Korg Prologue Tutorial - Michael Jackson Song Thriller - Sound Programming from scratch

In this sound programming tutorial for the Korg Prologue synthesizer I will explain how I reproduced the Sounds of the Michael Jackson song Thriller from scratch.
I show you how I programmed the bass, Intro brass, Intro synth pad, FM pad, the organ sound and the Theremin.

Thanks a lot! Yes it really is one of the best analog synths of the last decade I agree! I always get a lot of positive feedback about the Prologue when I take it with me to TV productions, recording sessions etc.

Amazing (I also purchased a couple of your soundsets for Korg Wavestate and those are impeccable). I think it'd be great if you did some sort of online classes on subtractive synthesis or a masterclass or something. I will be first to join.

This is really sweet. I have a Prologue 16 which I am still getting my head around. One thing, maybe ive never noticed it, but I don’t think mine displays all of the adjustments on the little waveform screen. Is that something you can turn on and off? I feel like it just shows the waveform only.

If you have the latest firmware you can switch that. Or do you mean the red multi engine display?

Einmal mehr sehr schön und transparent präsentiert. Gerhört der Prologue zu Deinen Favoriten in Sachen Synths? Klasse auch wie Du die Fähigkeiten der Digital Engine in Szene setzt. Ist die für Dein Empfinden ein vollwertiger oder adäquater Ersatz für die fehlende Modulationsmatrix, oder einfach ein doch einzigartiges Feature das man als das schätzen muss was es ist?

danke dir - inywischen ist der Prologue fast unersetzich geworden bei gewissen Produktionen. Was die Multi Engine angeht, so sehe ich sie als add on zur analogen Klangerzeugung. Die Parameter sind zwar begrenzt, aber mit den wenigen Mitteln kann man schon recht viele FM sounds aus dem Hut zaubern

@@MaikSchott Ja, ich weiss, und dies sogar recht schnell. Ich besitze neben dem Prologue 16 auch noch den Sequential Pro3 und den Novation Summit, also in der Summe drei Hybride mit jeweils eigener Ausprägung. Meine Frage zielte in gewisser Weise darauf ab, dass der Prologue von der reaktionären Synth Community anteilig rein von den Features her abgelehnt wurde, ganz ohne eigenes Antesten. Vielen Usern ist eine ModMatrix ein Must Have, deren klanglichen Möglichkeiten weiss auch ich zu schätzen, finde aber den Weg den Korg mit der digitalen Abteilung beschreitet sehr innovativ und nachhaltig. Kennst du den Sinevibes Bent Oszillator? Neben dem Shoebridge DW 8000, dem Sequential VS und den modularen Mutable Instruments Adaptionen (kostenlos) wirklich massive Zugewinne in Sachen Soundmöglichkeiten.

Ich verstehe ehrlich gesagt nicht, warum er so ein Underdog ist. Gerade für Live Keyboarder ist es ein unglaublich schnelles und flexibles Tool. Ja den Shoebridge kenne ich, habe mir selber mal ein FM Pack besorgt.

I Maik. Ich habe heute das Dolby Atmos Projekt gestartet. Suche einfach Davinci Resolve Audio & Sounddesign Facebook Group und bewirb Dich. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass Du zum Beispiel als Soundeditor was machen möchtest. Ich habe mir als Beispiel Libertango rausgesucht und eine Grundfassung online. Gerade der Marketingbereich wird sobald Apple nächsten Monat seinen Music Store umstellt und alle Betriebssysteme von Apple angepasst sind einen gesteigerten Bedarf haben und Leute mit Dolby Atmos gibt es kaum welche.
