The Triton was (and is still) an amazing synth. Clever marketing by Korg to come up with a revolutionary synth that carried so much punch in terms of capabilities. The name "Triton" alone still provokes a sense of awe and admiration. The creativity and innovation that went into the Triton was phenomenal. We salute all the folks at Korg who contributed to the design and manufacture of such an incredible piece of machinery.

Nice video. I'm not that deep into hiphop, but gotta say this thing was just as influential in so many other genres too. I still use the thing almost every day, and I produce mainly House and UK Garage. There's just something about the organs and e-pianos on this thing that to this day makes it sound so good to me. A decent sampler and a Triton can do almost everything you need.

@@briguy986 I just took everything apart cleaned and regressed. I did this to a normal triton too. The white keys I did a retrobright (peroxide gell and UV light). You can get spare parts from a few places just google there’s loads of options. I got them from Germany but before the Brexit trade deal so that avenue is now cut off. Replaced the rotary encoder and all the buttons. Washed it down. On the extreme it has a double layer (green) circuit board and I fked up there. Had to get a pro firm to repair my mistake. It’s not easy dealing with desoldering double layered boards!!!! I got a car paint shop to mix me up the exact colour spray paint, got a Matt clear coat spray. Masked off the letters everywhere. The front metal I sanded to bare metal and spray painted. Side end parts I had a carpenter make me new ones. Then I sprayed them.

I was one of the first people in Seattle to have a Triton back in 1999 and I used it to make numerous albums up until 2005-ish when I switched over to VST instruments. And they were DEFINITELY gettin' stolen! 😂 I haven't used it in years, but I replaced the floppy drive with a USB drive a few years ago and got all the files off of the floppy disks because the drive will eventually die and the disks will get corrupted. It happened with my KORG N364 when I went to load up some old school beats - the drive was dead and some floppies were corrupted.

I heard you mention Drag On- Down Bottom for using the Triton, but the lead horns actually come from a Roland JV 2080 Synth. Believe it or not Swizz sampled the full loop off the DEMO mode. Just wanted to clarify. Anyways, love this series. Subscribed for sure.

That Triton had the best radio ready sound patches & drums ever made up to that point. The sounds were actually mastered & practically perfect out the box. Most in stereo & effected already.
