Excellent videos. Far too many tutorials baffle the novice with too much tech, too much assumed knowledge and lack of down to Earth clarity. Not so here! Easy to follow, clear and precise!

You saved me. I could not for the life of me figure out why I couldn’t get it to track my automation. I sincerely thank you for your work on this video and part 1!

I know . . . it's so simple but it's not easy to find. The instructions really suck. I think it's on purpose, then they make us promote their product by sharing the knowledge. I'm ok with that anyway.

Great video, thanks for that! That at 9:38 for me that sound with the motion sequencing in itself is a reason to buy this device 🎉😂 Thanks Korg for making such great affordable machines.

I edit each layer of each part one layer at a time. I go to layer 1-2 first then turn the volume all the way so that both are now at zero volume. Then I toggle to just layer 1 being available and I can bring my volume back up which is now the volume of only layer 1. Another thing I like to do even before I get to this stage is I set my waveguide time to 24. Anything below that has a predelay which I don't want. Then I go into my edit/step function and I turn the gain down to zero. This way when I leave edit/step I will only hear the sound of which ever layer I'm ins wave guide sound. Once I've finished creating my sound with the sound engine I then turn my gain back up to whatever level I find suitable. I find this method gives me a much better tonality when sound designing my layers. Give it a try. I bet you won't be disappointed.

If you’re disappointed that the first part was so well received and part 2&3 aren’t.. don’t be. I started with blender, a 3D animation software. The situation is the same, many start, but only very few make it to the end of the course. Your course “transports” the information very well.

Hey! I watched your first video five months ago, the day after i purchased my volca drum. I just saw that you’d made a second video, so i was sure to check it out and see if you could teach me some of the finer points. Your explanation/demonstration of the wave resonator was great. I’ve just been making wacky springy noises with it. That beat you made with the delay was sick. Thanks for the great videos! Not sure why i didn’t subscribe before, but i am now! I also picked up the volca bass a few weeks ago. Having a blast. Take care!

These two were really helpful I got it about a week ago and have been having fun but it’s been hit or miss and very random. You really enlightened me with the gold and black color and what it means and how to use the edit function etc and the wave guide was very uninspiring until you showed me how to use it. So thank you. Did you make the third one yet? I hope. Thanks again ajd I liked and subscribed !! Wait I see it now. Thank you!! I look forward to watching it next time I have time. I have to go back to work now. :)

Thanks for the video! : ) Can the Korg Volca Drum be used as a sequencer ... for Behringer Neutron for example?

A két demo eladja a terméket, bárhol, és azoknak is teret ad, akik egyéb okok miatt mozgáskorlátozottak, de ezzel a tudással teljes értékű stúdió munkát képesek létre hozni. Akik a természetben akarnak szórakozni ezzel a kütyüvel azoknak is lehetőség nyílik az eszköz kezelésének megtanulására, nem kell zárt helyen eltölteni sok időt a tanulással.A hangzás sok stílusba beilleszthető. A két előadás lényegre törő, a Korg cég sok vevőt köszönhet ennek.
@thisriver
@thisriver 2 года назад
OK so here's the translation to the first comment in Hungarian in my channel: "The two demos sell the product, anywhere, and also give space to those who are disabled for other reasons but with this knowledge are able to create a full-fledged studio job. Those who want to have fun in nature with this gadget also have the opportunity to learn how to use the device, without having to spend a lot of time studying indoors. The sound can be incorporated into many styles. The two performances are concise, and Korg owes many customers to this".

Received mine yesterday - first tutorial was just fantastic - now to this one with all my very thanks for those. EDIT: I am confused at 11:00 you said earlier that you couldn't add effect on every single 'note' (part) - how come the Bass (part 1 on the Volca) is not affected by the swing effect ? Now it seems that you can assign SEND etc to each part ?
@thisriver
@thisriver 3 года назад
Hey, you can certainly control the wave guide for each part using the send knob, that will be a specific control for each part. What you can't do is design a different wave guide setting or sound for each part. In short: The wave guide design (type, decay, body and tune) will be common for each drum kit. However the wave guide amount will be specific for each part. Finally, wave guide affects both layers in each part equally (if you created a part using two layers, both will get the same flavor and send amount).
@lyskmusic
@lyskmusic 3 года назад
@@thisriver I ended up figuring this out but a big thank you for your answer. It won't replace my TR8S nor doing the drums manually in Ableton but it can definitely add some interesting flavors to a beat...
