this is my very first synth and this video helped me tremendously! I've been messing around trying to make it work more like a subtractive synth but now adding more layers make much more sense! Thanks
@Blue No, sir. It's NOT BS! I pre-ordered on January 4, 2020. I've waited a month and I had a pleasant surprise when FedEx sent me a text that it was scheduled to be delivered on Feb. 6. It got here at 10:35 AM on the 6th. So, I had eggs, toast, coffee, and Korg Wavestate for breakfast! Also, I didn't reply because I was playing with the Wavestate all day and half the night...no time for YT. I'm back here now looking for tutorial part 2! BTW, it was worth the wait. I also own the Deepmind 12, Prophet Rev2-16 and Moog Grandmother. All purchased through zZounds. Cheers!
brilliant tuto! for a brilliant synth! do you know if you can trigger a second note that would not start from the beginning of the sequence, but that would start at the point where the sequence actually is, being triggered by a first note? (e.g. play a Cmajor chord with right hand, it triggers the sequence, then several seconds later, you play a C bass with left hand.. by default, it will restart the sequence from beginning, but I am wondering if there is an option to follow where the Cmajor sequence is, instead of restarting from beginning...) many thanks!
Arrrghh I'm having issues with the samples n sequences out of time when I send a sequence via MIDI. So do I juat need to set the samples to confrm.to the tempo then set the global tempo to be the same.as rhe DAW????
Hey, Noisegate, when can we expect a part 2 vector synthesis tutorial? The Wavestate came with a simple Quick Start guide but your tutorial helped me 1000% more! Thanks! Awesome sounding keyboard for something almost as light as a feather! Kind of cheapish keys too but I'm not complaining...
I'm trying to learn how to use this powerful synt, but coming from full analogic synt like Yamaha CS10 and Korg MS20 is a kind of different and difficolt way.
thank you for this great video ! i've got a question : is it possible to use all the knobs + joystick of the new wavestate to pilot vst like Omnisphere for example (if i turn the volume off of the wavestate i suppose)?
Hi Yvan, Sure thing. The wavestate’s knobs and vector joystick all send MIDI data so you can use them to control your soft synths. You can turn ‘local control’ off to stop the keys and controls from triggering wavestate’s internal sounds.
Cool tutorial, subbed! at 2:51, can't you use a shortcut instead of using the utility? 'Shift' plus 'Loop end' knob? TBH I can't quite figure out why there is a 'Loop end' and 'End' function, surely it's the same thing? The manual is a bit cryptic so your tutorials are much appreciated!
Shift + loop knobs will adjust the sequence start/end points but it won't add any additional steps to the sequence. We believe this needs to be done via the utility screen. The separate start parameters are important in conjunction with the loop direction mode, but the loop end control is more useful when it comes to modulation which we will discuss in future videos
You speak with understanding but not with examples of the sounds themselves. Please slow down brother and let's hear what each "change you make" sounds like according to the different layers. Very complicated fast tutorial. Please slow down as too much to fast just frustrates us interested artists. 😘😁😂 Thank you for your understanding Insha'ALLAH (GOD WILLING)
