Here's a free excerpt showing some of the highlights from Rachel Barton Pine's April 4 broadcast of "24 in 24: Concertos from the Inside with RBP," focusing on the violin concerto by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, one of the greatest Hollywood composers. Learn about the history of the piece and composer, and discover how Rachel crafts her interpretation. Take a peek at her sheet music, and see how she prepares for a performance. Hear about what she learned from studying the films in which the themes appear and why she found the piece challenging to memorize.
Each Sunday at 4pm ET/3pm CT/1pm PT on OurConcerts.live, Rachel performs the entire solo violin part of the greatest violin concertos unaccompanied. She shares her perspective on each masterwork, explaining how she prepares to play it and how her performance connects to the work’s historical and musical context.
Tickets are $20 per show, or $349.99 for the full series. An excerpt will be released for free about a week later. For more information, or to purchase the entire 60-minute show on demand, please visit ourconcerts.live/rbp.

I so enjoyed your video of this wonderful piece. I am so "hooked" on it and I have been for decades. I LOVE Korngold and I'm so terribly glad he come to the USA. I played several movements (piano) of his suite for "Much Ado About Nothing" which is another utterly fantastic piece. Worked on that suite with Ralph Neiweem in Winnetka. Those were wonderful days. I'm in Portland now and I know you play here on occasion. I'll make sure to come see you whenever you come by. Thanks for talking about the background story of the concerto. This made my day! I have a feeling this composer was GREAT FUN and marvelous to know! Thank you!

Beautiful playing and a wonderful tribute to Randall Craig Fleischer, I hadn't heard of his passing. Many years ago as a student at Catholic University I was lucky enough to play concertmaster under him on several occasions. He made the music fun with his exuberant personality. The orchestra traveled to Rome and performed for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican. Those were fun times. Great video! 🎻❣

Your presentation was very enriching and a great opportunity to hear its beautiful sound without the orchestra! I already had the joy of accompanying you here in Brazil as an orchestral violinist and attending your masterclass !! Bravo always!!! And I hope you and your whole family are having a very good time through this difficult time for all of us!!! Rachel, I would like to know which arc are you playing in this video? I thought the bead and the bow as a whole were beautiful!!! With respect and admiration to great violinist Rachel Barton! Greetings from Brazil!

Actually, the turnaround is very fast. It’s a big task to watch the entire 75-minute program and choose the bits to be in the free clip, and then the video guy has to piece it together...

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎📻📽🎙🎻@@RachelBartonPine your words, this movie is music, the ear, violin artist vocals sings. A classical radio station playing you playing and thanks goodness said the artists name RachelBartonPine..... get ready for this... hi just saw you on RU-vid aaaaand violinist yes with brain of gut knowledge (neurons and all that)! Appreciate hearing from the un-middleman :) Super to see in the minds eye the sea of moods in your dialog. That is, classical knows, a Touchstone.... good word up, like the Conductors baton. Legit, you decide, music is a recipe, those unusable notes that spice life. Love those unexpected themes..... stop right there music. Mind wrapping experience Max the man. 6 degrees of separation. Ceremonial grand, films good to, ala "The Ark" You are on time, for a first time hearer, I think I understand better the ones that were called by a friend during the first intermission when G.G. embraced our world with love and in a note or two three four hear those strings sing to the point of hairs standing up and applauding. (Ahhh, excuse me I'm talkingabout Glenn Gould in Moscow, Anywho, violin bagpipes style sounds amazing. Randomly found your channel, ukulele artist here, as you see with your ears hear with your eyes this truth, these words sing thanks, standing on the virtual stage with lyrical Shakespearean RBP(glad you added that in the description, as saying your full name ten times fast tends to stop peoples world's...(which isn't necessarily a ungood thing:) Sounds you know classical pure thought food fuel, musically spoken. In truth, your word song li,e opera is a moment of "yes good" spoken truth music ears hear enlightened minds form music written. Your violin has an interesting tonality. Same; Bach melody maker. Great this update about classical music. Happy day truth, soul sings of old right new now hear, now, and that's life. Thanks again to the radio airplay, then the announcer speaking the name of a violinist, let's go Alice....rabbit hole time soooo, off to RU-vid to this RU-vidr to your truth sounding good RBP. I pay you respect you see, as you respected payed, by this video true, truth, your wisdom of education is a thought and sounds eternal. Oh yeah, you live the magical science behind the sounds of this universe ,pure artist whatever you do, you, your way do you, good words heard with bow& violin. Cheers happy day RBP 🙏
