Quick reminder that the entirety of Atla took place in less than a year

I had a major leg injury...basically a car nearly ripped off the lower part of my leg. Grade III Tib-fib fracture and hanging on by just a small amount of muscle and skin. Massive reconstructive surgery needed. I was lucky that mostly joints weren't involved. The physical therapy was hard, but I did not have the defeated attitude Korra had. I suffered somewhat from PTSD after the accident, but NOTHING like she does. I totally sympathize with her difficult path. She clearly needs someone TOUGH to help her through.

Has anybody ever noticed how real that dog looked like? I mean, it didn't looked at all like one of the regular chimeras we see in the Avatar world, but a IRL dog! Bosco was rare enough to become Earth King's pet, but what about that thing? How did that spirit thought to turn into that thing?

I think it's particularly hard for Korra because she's always been so physically strong and capable of rushing into everything headlong. And now her body betrays her.

Something I realized with re-watching this season got me disappointed we didn't see more of: - The main thing is how the swamp-bender tribe is now. The Florida-people of the Avatar Universe just living in like trailers and houseboats and Mad Max looking shack-forts. Compared to like the camps on the dirt they lived in and the leaves and bark they wore as clothing, I'd say it's a glow-up. Also, inducting them into the Water Tribes would be nice. - These next two things have to do with Kuvira's map of conquest, but for one thing Kyoshi Island. - The second thing was Omashu - In short, I'm just disappointed we didn't ever return to Kyoshi Island or Omashu after Aang's time. A memorial of Bumi and Earth Kingdom soldiers and diplomats occupying the territory and claiming it while trying to erase Bumi from history, labelling the mad king as a traitor, Aang would be furious. Or even just Kuvira's army rolling up and gentrifying the place. Kyoshi Island I'm just surprised fell into disarray after the Earth Queen died, they seemed like they were doing fine for the longest time, even during the 100 year war.

One thing I really like about this episode The realistic depiction of the frustrations for those who have been crippled and trying to undergo physical therapy to recover. I've helped a few family members who've had strokes and they feel a lot of anger at themselves and become depressed over their belief that they failed everyone around them And they get really ticked that they need help to do anything now, meanwhile friends and family seem to be progressing in their lives

I genuinely don't get why people are so mad the past connections got erased.

This episode is Janet Varney's favorite episode, as well as one of Michael Dante DiMartino's favorites to write. It was also the People's Choice Winner for "Best Television Episode" in IGN's Best of 2014 for television.

This episode showed how strong Korra is. Everything she went through and she still gave us a real sense of dealing with trauma. The memory will never go away but you can become stronger because of it

I can’t believe they didn’t notice the Easter egg: When Toph says “It’s nice to see you again Twinkle Toes” it’s a reference to the “The Avatar and the Fire Lord” episode when she asks Aang if he really believes that friendships can transcend life. ❤

It’s so cool how everything gets brought full circle this season. By this point we’ve seen every main character in ATLA as an oldie... and this episode really reflects Korra as a character and her development over the time gap. This is one of the many reasons I love ATLA and LOK

Anng was able to fly just like zaheer, but only for a brief moment. during the fight in de old Basin se, he opened his last chakra by letting go of Katara, he entered the avatar state and started levitating, and in the animation doesnt look like he is using a basic airbender tecnic to levitate, after that Azula kills him blocking his ability to enter to the avatar state and to levitate

idk if anyone ever said this but at the start of the season that fire move @ 7:52 showed how strong and fierce of a fighter korra was , now it shows her being scared and helpless and not being able to defend or fight for herself , that’s sum good writing right there , applause to the avatar writers

It must have just been me but I found this episode so sad. I felt so bad for Korra - she's really been trying her best and keeps having to battle all of these people (I would even say she's had a harder time with villains than in ATLA)

Y’all, when I first watched this season (on DVD without subtitles) I was crying when Korra recognized Toph and Toph called her twinkle toes 🥺🥺😭😭 Their reunion is especially emotional because in S3 of ATLA Aang tells the gaang about how Roku and Gyatso were friend and then Gyatso and Aang became friends. Toph asked Aang, “Do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime?” and Aang was all like “ yes” and so Know hat Twinkle toes and Toph are back together I 😭😭😭😭

Aang's pose in the fishmonger's picture is similar to the one he assumed for his air marbles trick in "The Warriors of Kyoshi". Toph refers to Korra as "Twinkle Toes", a nickname she gave to Aang when they first met. Korra has a sparring match against White Lotus firebenders, much like she did in "Welcome to Republic City". This is Tonraq's last speaking role in the series.

Korra IS the strongest avatar. So you can talk all that crap, but she would do better than any other avatar in her position

I am gonna drop a whole text on why I love TLOK and why I preffer it over TLOA. I don't think it's fair or even relevant to point the technical quality of both shows, but LOK had better animation by far. What I wanna point out is that Korra is a much more interesting character than Aang and most of it is because she is relatable. You see Korra is not a monk, vegetarian, vows of no killing and thinking the best of any person that crosses her way. Korra is over excited for being the avatar, she is explosive, she is an adolescent and most importantly : She Fails. Quite a lot you would say, right? kkkkk But this script decision is not appreciated because we compare to LOA, where Aang, in his 11's defeated Ozai and freed the world. Well, let's imagine how it is to be next Avatar in a world that just came from an "Avatar Fasting". 100 years of slavery and tyrany. The nations seemed as divided as they were when people leaved on the back of the Giant Lion-Turtles. E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E was trouble. Aang and his gang simple came by and solved them, and well, it's not as if you're not gonna love a little kid that just saved your village from a mad spirit. Korra was thrown in a world that was "fixed" by the previous Avatar. God, what other Avatar has a statue THAT big anywhere in the planet? Not that I know. Well, basicaly, the world really didn't need the avatar, or at least think they don't. And Korra feels that. About Failing : Aang's anemies were always very clear. They were Nazis... Well, kinda, but you know. Not arguing there. The fact is that Ozai was a maniac overpowered Tyrant and his moves were always very clear. His plan was to burn down the world. And how would he do that? Infiltration? Double agents? No, he didn't need that, he just needed Sozin's comet power and go on to literaly burn the world. Well, raise your head and fight that shit, boy. Now Korra most of the time didn't know her enemies. They all appear from the shadows. Well Amon was a clear threat but nobody new WHAT he was, what he was cappable of! So all of his moves got people by surprise. Unalaq was her uncle, and played with all her insecurities. Than we have that bitch Zahir. God praise this motherfucker. Imagine what Zahir would have done to Aang's mind? Being 11?! I super imagine Zahir killing the Guru Pathik and taking his placing teaching him how to reach the avatar state or to corrupt it. Or simply brainwash Aang into turning to the red lotus maybe? Who knows. Korra was abused hard. I love this episode (Korra Alone) because it shows how she feels about everybody ,and how everybody was feeling about the series in the time. "Korra sucks!" "Aang saved the world when he was 11!" "Aang founded Republic City" "Ozai did 9/11." Well yeah... Korra failed a lot. But we all fail. Korra just failed A LOT because we keep comparing her to the mother fucking legend that saved the world after 100 years of disapearance. Korra is great, flawed, beautiful, strong and messed up. I feel much more conected to her than to Aang whose hardest inner fights were "i love katarra omg *simp*" and "I can't kill the big bad guy because..... I'm too good.... ç.ç " Well, can you blame Korra for being messed up after almost being killed for 3 seasons!?! Like really close colding/crippling forever? Man she was afraid of dying, but most of all, of being irrelevant, of failing more, and more. Of being crushed by the weight of losing conection with all the other past Avatars. And I love her for being so relatable and for showing how to overcome traumas, and that you can mess things up and still be a hero. Maybe you just need some time.

Korra Alone" was named after the Avatar: The Last Airbender episode, "Zuko Alone". The title of the graphic novel Suki, Alone is also reminiscent of both these episodes. Korra's catamaran resembles the boat that the original Team Avatar used to sail from the Northern Water Tribe to General Fong's fortress
