Kos - Greece | Mitsis Resort | Kardamena | with stunning Timelapse’s 

Kos indeed has great beaches and maybe therefore the island is flooded by an awful amount of tourists, hotels and busses. I was shocked, when a greek friend showed me this giant gated Mitsis complex of 4 different hotel types, around 3,500 beds in this secluded area east of Kardamena on the slopes of the mountains there. Well, mass tourism: planes are landing on Kos island even around 1 o'clock in the night, flying over the west side of Kardamena to the airport. Kos island unfortunately is a good example for: (mass) tourism will finally destroy what it loves. Go to mountain village Zia and you will notice yourself! Even though it is the same mass tourism on the north coast of Kos, personally I liked more the long sandy beaches of e.g. Tigaki and Marmari with breath-taking sunset views. And I prefer the beautiful beaches in the secluded bays of the Kefalos peninsular of Kos, which I guess most of the Mitsis resort type tourists will never see.
