Kosei Inoue has godlike technique. Once he locks on a grip, his opponent is in trouble. His uchimata comes out of nowhere and with precise form. To outclass Shintaro is really saying something because we all know Shintaro would rag doll most of the black belts in the world. For Inoue to be on another level beyond Shin's is just breathtaking.

Kosei is taller and really goes for the high grip, which is very dominating once you have it. Shintaro was putting a lot of resistance, but after the uchi mata, it went downhill fast, like when you start loosing in chess - you keep making the mistakes. That uchi mata try by Shintaro was good, but it is crazy how fast Kosei avoided it. Maybe Shintaro could have gone to drop seo nage, but it is rarely done at this category.

I once went to my instructor's home while in college. We saw his trophies displayed in one room. They were all first place. I asked him where the 2nd and 3rd place trophies were and he said that he threw them out. He was amazing to me, but everyone gets beat at some point. It wouldn't be any fun if they didn't.

@@李振藩-t3c harai. he blocks with the hip and applies a leg reap to counter the hip slide (accidental or not. and lets remember harai goshi is an "enhanced" uki goshi). tai otoshi doesnt require hip nor leg contact, but it would have required a violent change in direction, as tai otoshi is a very forward throw, but this one was side-ish.

Shintaro, would a professional Sumo wrestler (let's say he's 380 lbs) have an advantage as a Judoka in competitions if he were to start training in Judo?
@gumi524

Yes
@tl8211
@tl8211 Месяц назад
Depends on what judoka we're talking about. Over a normal white belt? Of course. Over a comparably big and skilled judoka? They would be easily defeated as they don't have experience in grip-fighting with the judogi. For example, someone like Tatsuru Saito should be able to take down Hakuho in a judo fight with ease. Of course, the reverse is also true, Saito would be annihilated in a sumo match.
