I’m from Decatur and come from a long line of Atlanta rap history. My group EDUBB (rain boots and a thong ) my OGz who put us in the game. The HARD BOYZ were actually the pioneers of the trap. B4 Outkast , around the time KILO was out. They were Atlanta first Gangsta rappers. THEY really started what would be come TRAP music years later. TIP coined it on a mainstream level / major label with Trap Music etc. and before that he had dope boyz in the trap. Which hats off to him for this. However, he wasn’t the first to coin the word TRAP in music and have songs about it that resonated in the streets to the clubs and radio. That was A-DAM-SHAME out of Decatur / Scottsdale to be exact, by way of Tennessee. They had street anthems “GET IT” and “I’M a BOSS” that were killing the clubs and radio mix shows long before dope boys in the trap. They even had a song called “TRAP NIGGAZ” on their seminal underground classic album “DIRTY GAME”.
