This is my 2nd KP update... I also talk quickly about my first few laser hair removal appointments.
Keratosis Pilaris, KP or chicken skin is my skin condition... In this video, I share what I'm doing to treat my Keratosis Pilaris. I've watched a few dermatologists' RU-vid videos to find out the best way to treat Keratosis Pilaris, and I am pleased with my results so far. It hasn't disappeared, but my skin is much softer and on my legs I can clearly see the patches where my skin is completely cleared vs where we still see the KP.
Keratosis pilaris (ker-uh-TOE-sis pih-LAIR-is) is a common, harmless skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps, often on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. The bumps usually don't hurt or itch.
Keratosis pilaris is often considered a variant of normal skin. It can't be cured or prevented. But you can treat it with moisturizers and prescription creams to help improve the appearance of the skin. The condition usually disappears by age 30 (it hasn't disappeared for me).

I honestly don’t think most derms know how to truly get rid of this and most treatments are only most affective for fair skinned or white folks. Hyperpigmentation is always harder for us to treat.

My kp looked like this and nothing was helping. I started using Moroccan black soap and exfoliating gloves every other day and it's almost gone!! I highly recommend it i do it the Moroccan way and it's honestly really helped then i moisturise with cerave sa moisturiser and Moroccan argon oil on top my skin has never looked and felt better!

Can you explain a little about the African American vs. Caucasian laser removal? On a scale of 1 - 10 what is the pain like? Other than not using acid on your skin (the lotions and body wash you use} are there any other things you need to stop or do? Do you need to stay out of the sun? How long is the hair removal supposed to last? I have so many questions, but I will stop here, lol.

I have kp in exactly the same places, I don't wear my legs out at all and this is very depressing. I need to get more income before i can in-bark on my laser journey, thank you for sharing and I hope to see you get to complete healing.

I’ve never thought my legs were ugly, but when I heard I could minimize the little dots I was interested in trying. But in all aspects of my life, accepting myself as always been the most important thing I’ve learned. However, I am in love with my legs right now. 😍 They are so smooth.

I'm happy with it. Also, I'm lazy so I don't want to add more steps to the routine. The Cerave wash and the Amlactin lotion with the occasional scrub seem to be the right combo for me. I'm sticking to that.

I'm currently doing electrolysis on face, chin, neck. I did 6 sessions of laser hair removal in 2014 and the hair grew back. I did 8 sessions of laser again in 2017 and a touch up in 2019 and the hair came back worse during the pandemic. After research, it turns out some people will experience more regrowth on the face after laser. Electrolysis can be painful and it takes much longer since it goes follicle by follicle, but numbing cream makes it tolerable.

I thought 💭 I could overcome facial hair growth with laser treatment which turned out to be a waste of time and money but to my greatest surprise I came across Doctor Isibor Herbal supplement and hair removal which was amazing 😍 no more hairs it's been 3 year's I haven't seen a hair growth

@@AnnyKeyzElectrolysis’s is the only FDA permanent hair solution I used it and have no more hair because when you pluck you stimulate the blood to make more hairs

Yep! That was my experience. The dots are gone, my legs are smooth. It’s really amazing. I did laser hair removal and the kp left with the hair follicles. It makes sense but I didn’t expect it.

hey, you haven't posted in a while but hope you will see this comment.I also have kp, mainly on my lower leg and for about 2 weeks i've been using kojic acid soap and i can already see big improvement in both texture and appearance.Also, did you regurlary shave your legs before getting laser hair removal?I've been avoiding shaving my legs to see if it will improve my skin

Hi! Yes… my school semester is ending late June. I will try to post a little before my next semester. 🙂 I used to shave only when necessary like if I was wearing something showing my legs. That never helped anything for me. I was just lazy so that was my routine. I love laser. Never have to shave anymore.

I’m not a dermatologist but in my case I would say yes. My legs are smooth and the dots are more pale. I’m very happy with my results.

What products you use after laser treatment?

Nothing right away. After 24 hours, a regular moisturizer. Also, I cannot use my Cerave or any acids for a week. After that I use my products with salicylic acid when I feel like it until a week before my next laser appointment.

Hi! Honestly, I think this is it. My skin is pretty much the same. I tried to take pictures but I don't see a difference. I like it. With that and the laser, my legs feel super smooth and that's enough for me. I think it did fade a bit. I don't think I'll take it any further. I'm happy with it.

Is laser helped with your KP condition on legs??? Or do you suggest to follow the shower routine only for KP.

Laser helps with the hairs. Because the hairs are more sparse and fine, the skin is super smooth. But I don't think it does much for KP. It help with ingrow hairs but not KP specifically, in my opinion.

The product is a facial scrub from Life, the Shoppers Drugmart in Canada. Are you in Canada? Otherwise please try any facial scrubs, it’s fine. They are more gentle on the skin of your arms and legs.

It is Nd: YAG laser technology. So whichever office you go to for a consultation, they should talk about that laser.

I'm already doing chin and jaw. It's going really well. I'm just afraid for the upper lip because it's a very sensitive area for me. Even waxing was traumatic.

I didn’t choose… the laser techs told me the laser that worked with dark skin. I tried another esthetician’s place right before my spa and they told me they couldn’t because they didn’t have the right laser for me. My spa uses the Nd:YAG laser. It works very well… not having to shave is heaven.
