Pureun is a Korean word that implies various meanings. Although literally it means "Bluish green", it also suggests the idea of "youth".
Beginning in 2018, Pureun is Duke's premier competitive Kpop dance group. Pureun aims to create an avenue for those interested in Kpop and represent Korean culture to the Duke and North Carolina community. We cover dances to all music genres within the Kpop industry, including R&B, pop, ballad, and more. As a culture group, we strive to include people from all cultural and social backgrounds and celebrate our love for music and dance. ❤️❤️

So there were some awkward looking parts but I’m thorough impressed with you guys. I respect this. And I really enjoyed Boombayahs 5 person formation and the addition of your breakdown and flexibility. This was one of the better school performance. Thank you! We found out pretty last minute we'd be performing for this event, so we only had two weeks to prepare this set (and since we're college students almost all of our time is taken up by classes- school and grades come first!) so we definitely weren't as clean as we'd would have liked to be. It was also only the second time a lot of our members ever danced in front of a crowd before, so it was pretty nerve wracking from them to be in front of so many people. So we definitely hope to improve in the future and keep getting better!! (especially since our group has only been around for a year)

Sometimes college acceptance isn't all about grades. I even did a lot of extracurriculars and got all A's and yet didn't even get into UNC-Chapel Hill, their rival, even when they obviously got better acceptance rates than Duke. They mostly look at your "why." Why did you choose Duke? What are you trying to accomplish in Duke? The "why" is your letter. Got shabby letters? I highly doubt you might be accepted. Even Ivy Leagues don't accept better this and that academically speaking. They judge you based on your letter if competitively speaking. It doesn't mean that they don't check SAT/ACT, grades, and extracurriculars. They do use it to see if you're qualified to get your letters to be read. I learned that the hard way in my senior year of high school and now a freshie in college. I am not trying to drag you down but hoped you can use my experience to boost you up and achieve your dreams. :) I don't go to Duke, but I do go to a university in the same state as Duke, UNCC (Charlotte).
