1. Odd Eye beats Maison. I get that having a less powerful chorus was an active creative choice. It was an experiment that I don't think succeeded. Maison is still great, mostly because of the verses and the instrumentation. But it just doesn't have the same power as Odd Eye outside of a few moments. 2. Good Night beats Chase Me. This one isn't even close; although I now love Chase Me, when it first came out I heard it a few times and didn't care that much; but Good Night made me an Insomnia and I still think it's their most classic song. I don't get that heavy metal spine tingling from any other Deukae song quite like Good Night. 3. Deja Vu beats Rose Blue. This is also very one sided, because while Rose Blue is a fine song there isn't all that much that I remember about it or that makes me want to listen to it, whereas Deja Vu is literally my favorite Dreamcatcher song period. It's their classic formula perfected, features their best vocal harmonies and most powerful chorus, and is basically the perfect kpop power ballad. I could gush about it for hours but I'll stop now. 4. Scream beats What. At the time of its release What was my least favorite of their titles, because yeah, it's very powerful, but that's really all it is. Every Deukae title has that. Scream on the other hand was something different; one of the only properly angry Dreamcatcher songs. As someone who uses music as a coping mechanism I vibe so hard with Scream and its message. 5. Sahara beats Red Sun. This one is tight, because Red Sun is one of their best attempts at genre experimentation, but come on, Sahara just slaps. It's at the perfect headbanging tempo and hits hard to back it up. Also those prechoruses are cool as hell. 6. LiaD beats Jazz Bar. Jazz Bar is cool and all but this is where I'm going to mention for the first time that the Deukae songs that are softer, but not proper ballads, tend to not be my favorites because they just hold my attention less. Meanwhile LiaD brings a whole new attitude to the discography; no other Dreamcatcher song has that kind of edgy-showtune energy. It's so sassy and I love it. Also idc if "jinja s****" isn't actually supposed to be a swear word, it will always be "jinja sipal" in my heart. 7. Endless Night beats Breaking Out. Another one that's not even close. Endless Night just makes all their other Japanese songs except I Miss You look silly by comparison. I mean have you heard that guitar work! It's actually insane. We have a bona fide power metal track in a kpop discography and nothing can take that away from us. I'm so happy this song exists. It's hype as fuck and more Somnias should recognize it as the masterpiece it is and probably Deukae's best song from a guitar perspective. 8. Trap beats Diamond. This one had me sweating ngl. They're both great. Ultimately had to go with trap because that chorus extension just gives me life, and I'm a huge sucker for synthpop in kpop. But Diamond still slaps with tons of fun melodies and a sick breakdown at the end. 9. BEcause beats Boca. So here's where I call out Boca as the most overrated song within the fandom. Every time I rediscover that it has the most views I get depressed briefly. Now to be clear it is not a bad song by any means, but yall hype it up wayyyyy too much... I personally find it to be their worst title. Again, that doesn't make it bad, it's still a Dreamcatcher title track. But there's only so many times I can hear that same chorus riff over and over again before something in me snaps. Also Because is a legendary banger and that post chorus is absolutely god tier. 10. Starlight beats CGYOOM. This might be the most one sided so far: the best bside since Tree of Language, vs the worst bside, period. I will forever hold a grudge against CGYOOM because it is the reason why I can no longer say "Dreamcatcher has no bad songs" unironically. I know lots of yall like it but there's 500 million songs out there that sound exactly the same as it. It's the least original Deukae song by a massive distance and I honestly think Leez and Oullounder were so focused on making it sound western that they totally forgot to put any actual effort into it. Rant aside, Starlight is a great song. It captures that "Dreamcatcher magic" in the way a lot of recent bsides have failed to do, it has awesome vocals, awesome melodies, that ethereal texture we know and love, and holy shit that ending. The first time I heard it I assumed it was a bridge, and then the song just *ended!* I ascended when hearing this lol. 11. Wind Blows beats Whistle. Another tough one; ultimately, Whistle's vibes and peak JiU vocals could not defeat Wind Blows' spectacular and unexpected techno breaks. 12. 4 Memory beats Alldaylong. Neither if these is my favorite, although both are fine songs, but 4 Memory just makes me smile when I hear it, so it wins. 13. Full Moon beats Break the Wall. Full Moon makes me think of that meme with the swimming pool, where New Days is getting all the attention while Over the Sky is drowning, and Full Moon is the skeleton at the bottom of the pool. I don't think I need to elaborate on that any further. Break the Wall slaps but I kind of struggled to take it seriously ever since I realized it's basically if Deukae made Bring Me To Life (you know, the WAKE ME UP INSIDE song). 14. Piri beats Black or White. Not sure what the idea of putting Piri against a bside was, because Piri stomps this hard. Black or White is a great song, but come on, it's not beating Piri. Piri is my second favorite song from Deukae ever (can you tell 2019 was my favorite year of them?) It's also my favorite era. Like, come on, everyone was in red black and white outfits and Dami had a fucking superhero cape. What more could you ask for? Piri is just awesome. 15. Daydream beats Daybreak. Ah, yes, haha, the funny names joke. Anyway, while Daybreak is good, it's also impressively forgettable. It functions effectively as a ballad, yet literally almost nothing actually happens musically during it. Daydream however, is one of my three favorite ballad from them, with a great meta-message to Insomnia and a beautiful chorus featuring the best pre-holding-this-pain vocals from Handong imo. 16. ATWNL beats Wonderland. These two songs are both songs I shouldn't like even though they're both good; they're very quiet, minimalist, and empty. And that's born out with Wonderland, yet ATWNL inexplicably lands perfectly with me. I think a lot of it has to do with that hook from Siyeon because she must have recorded that like 5000 times and chosen the best take; even by her insanely high standards, it is *chef's kiss* perfect. 17. Polaris beats Emotion. Emotion is kind of the "generic ballad you do because you have to do a ballad when you debut", although it's well executed enough, but Polaris is the perfect message of understanding, love, togetherness, and shared pain between Dreamcatcher and Insomnia and my favorite of their ballads by far. Also Deukae are just audibly better singers in Deja Vu era than Chase Me era. Part two in replies since apparently this comment is too long!
18. Trust Me beats Lullaby. Lullaby is similar to Emotion; a ballad for the sake of a ballad. Trust Me... well, I generally have a really negative outlook on the world, and so I almost always find songs with the message of "it's going to be ok" to be disingenuous and naive. Trust Me is so good it actually makes me believe it, if just for a brief moment before I'm thrust back into reality. I'll leave it at that. 19. Fly High beats You and I. Out of the title song matchups this is easily the hardest; You and I is legendary for a reason, but Fly High just has that special secret sauce, and also some of the most truly god tier Siyeon lines of early Deukae. Like seriously, her parts in the chorus and second verse are just absolutely magical to me, I couldn't tell you why. I was a Siyeon bias before Scream era, when the entire group bias wrecked me at once and I gave up on the idea of a bias altogether, and Fly High is most of the reason why. 20. Silent Night beats In The Frozen. Another tough one; these are some of the best bsides. While In The Frozen is spectacular, Silent Night has literally everything and, if not for one song I'll talk about later, would be my favorite bside from them. I mean come on... it has a sick drop, awesome instrumentation, great vocals including the rarely seen but utterly goated Handong and Gahyeon lower registers, and that absolutely insane ending. Truly the stuff of legends. Can you tell I'm a huge Raid of Dream fan? Anyway, moving on... 21. Over the Sky beats Curse of the Spider. Yeah even Raid of Dream isn't perfect (although my theory is that it was perfect, and then the gods struck down Leez and Oullounder for their hubris and we got Curse of the Spider as a result). It's a fine song, but feels a bit unoriginal for Dreamcatcher in 2019. But then there's the god tier Over The Sky, the best fan song in kpop and I will defend that take to the death. I'm so sad they don't perform it last at every concert anymore. If I had to choose the last song we'll ever see Dreamcatcher perform, it would be Over The Sky with out a doubt. It's the perfect ending, and never fails to bring me tears of happy-sadness. And even without all of that, it's still one of their most musically interesting rock tracks and an all around absolute banger. Stan Over The Sky yall, New Days is a good song but it will always feel like a usurper in Over The Sky's place at the end of concerts to me. 22. Airplane beats Poison Love. Neither of these is my favorite, but Airplane has these little flashes of how brilliant it could have been if it was just a little edgier. 23. Always beats Heart of Sunflower. This is actually a great comparison; I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice the similarity. To my mind, Heart of Sunflower, while good, didnt quite succeed at what it was trying to do; while Always is everything Heart of Sunflower should have been. Always is also the song that made me realize exactly how much better Handong's vocals are these days; girl is, like, astonishingly good now, and being vocally impressive next to Siyeon and Yoohyeon is no easy task. 24. Mayday beats New Days. Since I already called out New Days twice I think this shouldn't be too surprising. Mayday is a classic for a reason and perhaps the quintessential Deukae bside, although not the very best. It slaps, has the best audience participation of any of their songs, and richly deserves its place in encore stages. I was so glad they brought it back on the US tour; it's ungodly hype live. Seriously, if any of yall go to a Deukae concert in the future, pray for this song. 25. Eclipse beats No More. No More is like the opposite of ATWNL, where based on my tastes I should really like it but for some reason I just don't. Eclipse, while not extremely interesting, does a great job of what it's trying to do - maximum anime (although true maximum anime is reserved for I Miss You). 26. Wake Up beats Tension. Much like with New Days and Mayday, I prefer the old encore stage to the new. I do really like Tension, especially compared to New Days, but Wake Up is the single most hype bside I've heard in kpop, no exaggeration, and any BTS or Stray Kids stans will know how strong of a statement that is. Wake Up live is just the most exciting kpop concert experience you can have. It's peak party time and contains the essence of pure energy and fun. 27. Sleepwalking beats July 7th. DnB in kpop, back in 3rd gen before it was cool. Executed perfectly. Sick choreo to amplify it all to the point of perfection. I'll say no more. 28. Scar beats Which A Star. Now *this* is the best Dreamcatcher bside that I was foreshadowing earlier. Scar is easily the most underrated Deukae song going away, and that's including one song in the very next question that a lot of somnias probably don't even know exists. Yall need to stop sleeping on Dami's lyrical magnum opus, on the absolutely spectacular guitar parts, on the brilliant composition, on those epic breakdowns after the choruses, on everything about Scar! 29. My Way beats Don't Light My Fire. My Way should have been the title song from Beginning of the End and I will die on this hill. Sick guitar work, awesome lyrics and an empowering chorus, Dami's fastest and most technical rap part, period, and great composition. I listen to this more often than a lot of title songs, and it's a Japanese bside that no one's ever heard of, which annoys me (although not nearly as much as people sleeping on Scar). Anyway yeah, My Way better than Breaking Out, fight me. 30. I Miss You beats Together. I hyped up I Miss You a bit already, and we know Deukae has the reputation for making people go "is this anime?" on first reaction, but despite them having made some actual anime OPs now, nothing comes close to the levels of anime present in I Miss You, and in this case I mean that as an absolute compliment. It's awesome, if you're ever in the mood for something cheesy but still epic, go check it out. 31. Entrancing beats Paradise. Both of these songs are just "some instruments play in the background while Lee Siyeon absolutely melts our hearts and souls". But Entrancing is... well, it's in the name. I love how she literally is never satisfied to just have her insane vocal talents; she is always using them to their fullest extent, pushing the envelope on every song, and Entrancing's technicality just puts it over the top for me. Anyway yeah, Siyeon is inhumanly good at what she does, you all knew that already, moving on. 32. Winter beats Handong solo song I sadly forgot the name of :( Yeah the fact that I forgot it existed says a lot about how Happyface did not promote it even in the slightest, but I probably wouldn't have liked it more than Winter anyway. Winter is great; Handong is great. There's not much else so say here that hasn't been said already. 33. Dear beats Cherry. At this point I have to mention that I really respect the grind to find two songs associated with the same member lol. Anyway Cherry is my least favorite of the Apocalypse: Save Us solos, as much as it hurts me to say that, and... y'know, in terms of idols - not companies, but idols - writing songs directly to their fans, Dear is the real deal. I like to imagine that JiU learned to compose just so that she could deliver us this song. You really feel her love when you listen to it, and I don't think I need to explain what's so great about that. Best song from Lose Myself. 34. Beauty Full beats No Dot. No Dot is great, and I'm glad that SuA remembered she can rap even though the company apparently forgot, but Beauty Full is just a straight up brilliant hype train. Dami's choice of genre continues to prove that she has the best taste in music of the members. 35. Playground beats For. Honestly Playground is just hilarious to me because that one chord that just repeats endlessly in the background for the entire song always makes me think I'm in the middle of some whimsical dream that I'm about to wake up from. Or alternately it's really creepy, which is such a weird tone shift from the rest of the song. I'm not really a big fan of the cutesy stuff (why do you think I stan Deukae and not other girl groups) but Playground is entertaining nonetheless. Honestly the main impact of For is just Yoohyeon annihilating my bias list, but once the novelty of *Kim Yoohyeon singing a love song in English* wears off, the fact is that the old-timey shtick is just not my preference. Why did I spend so much time writing all of this? Can you tell I might be slightly too obsessed with Dreamcatcher? Eh, there's no such thing. Thanks for the video, these are always fun!

About a third was very easy without a shimmer of a doubt, a third hard but with pain in my heart could admit I liked one better and the final third I kinda made a decision but switched (and maybe switched back) and time ran out...
