Growl is a guilty pleasure 😅 they were in their theatrical era and it pairs well with Call Me Baby. I'm happy the suggester added Ko Ko Bop and definitely has double meaning while showcasing their powers/smcu lore. Lucky is such daft punk inspired I was so excited when it was released and I go back to it all the time along with Monster and Obsession.

It's ok not to like what you don't like, you just enjoy more slow-tempo, melodious songs. An EDM fan here, these are my favourites ❤

I honestly don't care that wolf is not loved by many but I'll always love it because I love the sound and strong vocals like this can't be pulled off easily and they did it. And it was the very first Exo song I saw heard and loved from them back in 2013 when Dubstep music was blowing up❤️‍🔥 EXO music are timeless😏

I think a lot of EXO's title tracks especially are written with performance in mind, and I know for me personally a lot of them hit better live (and they often do alternate versions at their concerts) so I can see why some of the parts I really like didn't land for you - you're judging the music only here so that's totally fair. I appreciate the honest takes. My main takeaway from this is that you should definitely listen to more of their album tracks, judging by your reactions to Artificial Love and Playboy you would probably like a lot of them much more than the title tracks. Looking forward to seeing you explore more of those one day (but take your time of course)!

We still need SHINee and f(x) to really check off the most critically acclaimed SM groups. Though I’d love to see them do some soloists; Taemin, Taeyeon, and BoA.

Playboy was written and produced by Jonghyun from kpop group SHINee, which was also formed by SM. Compared to most companies, SM is very resistant to letting their artists produce the music (lyric writing is usually more common for them) but Jonghyun was a notable exception, having worked extensively on his solo projects, SHINee songs, as well as some songs for other artists (notably IU and Lee Hi, as well as a few tracks for his groupmate Taemin's solo projects). The very fact that they let him take such an active role in music production is testament to the trust they had in his musical talent. SHINee were EXO's seniors by a few years, but the SHINee members trained at the same time as some of the EXO members and they became very close. Kai and Taemin are known best friends since their trainee period to this day.

Honestly, for me, EXO's B-sides by far outdo their title tracks. They have so many incredibly gorgeous smooth songs..and then when they perform them live, they get even better.

Lovee the Artificial Love appreciation, the entire Ex'act album is perfection actually. Can't bring me down, Stronger, She's dreaming, They never know, White noise all of these are soo good. They really hide the gems in their side tracks.

As am Exol, I really like your reactions, since you are keeping it real and do give your honest opinion. I also think maybe you should listen more to the B-side tracks, not the title tracks, because the TT needs to be more leaning to pop and less experimental. Either way, keep up the good work....

EXO has such a vast discography that it is hard to recommend just one song to a new listener. I understand that not all may be your cup of tea, but give them a chance to win your heart. I fell down the EXO rabbit hole in 2018 and I am so happy that I gave EXO (and Kpop) in general a chance. The way they put their heart and soul (and their outstanding vocals) into their music resonates with me. Like others have said the Killing Voice is a great place to hear their live vocals, also their many live concerts, and Cream Soda/Hear Me Out recordings behind the scenes. Also, they have many wonderful B-sides that are worth checking out. Some of my favorite songs are Runaway, Cinderella, No Makeup, What is Love, Sweet Lies, Thunder, Baby Don't Cry, and so many more. Also, as much as I love the entire group their solo albums are worth listening to as well.

The fact that yall always critic “it was missing something”, “it would’ve been better if”, “I just wish that they”, “it’s lacking” on some of exos most experimental and unique songs, but absolutely love Artificial Love- which is arguably one of their most simple, monotone, borderline boring songs. I’m speechless. I don’t understand y’all’s taste or opinions, but whatever, I’m glad yall found something you like.

Wolf is without a doubt not just the most divisive song for EXO but for all of Kpop. There were also a lot of memes from the mv (and song). Btw, they start the video forming the Tree of Life. As for splitting into groups, Exo used to be two different groups - Exo-K, which sang in Korean, and Exo-M, which sang in Mandarin. By this time two of the members had left the group so they really stopped splitting up. Call Me Baby was produced by Teddy Riley, one of the creators of the New Jack Swing sound (and he also produced MJ's Dangerous album.)
