this video focuses on producers who work with a variety of artists on songs that i like. there are so many people behind every song and i encourage u to look more into this stuff it interests you (i used genius and wikipedia) I also chose not to include idol producers, producers who only work for one or two groups, or ones that are more active outside of kpop for the sake of variety. again, these are just the ppl i found that i like best, feel free to do ur own research and leave ur recommendations down below ~
And let’s not forget Yoo Young-jin. He’s involved in songs like Super Junior’s “Sorry sorry”, SHINee’s “Ring Ding Dong”, “Lucifer”, Red Velvet’s “Bad boy”, and Nct 127’s “Cherry Bomb”.
Didn't know Cha Cha Malone produced for Kpop groups, as I mostly hear him in KHiphop songs. Together with "Groovy, everywhere", "Gray", and "Hey boy, it's cold" 🤣
i was thinking maybe to add the producer “EDEN” who has produced for gfriend, woodz, wanna one, ateez, boyfriend, btob and also helped produce pd48 rumour and younha’s winter flower
yessss EDEN king. not sure if you guys watch idol producer with yixing as a mentor, but he is also one of the producer for the song “it’s ok”; that song is legit sooooo good.
I don’t wanna seem like that person- but I love Hui’s productions. And it’s not just because he’s an idol himself. He’s produced Wanna One’s debut “Energetic” and even a few of his groups songs such as “Like this”, “Runaway”, and their biggest song, “Shine”.
i didn't know that i wish which is literally one of the best songs in heng:garae produced by monotree i recently discovered them because they also produced kim jaehwan's song love you still
I did now Black eyed pilsung went THAT hard, brave brothers is my bae personally like they gave me because of you, miniskirt, high heels, full moon, someone like u, sleepless nights, I’m literally on one knee
also wanted to mention how much I fuvk w your videos and taste in music sometimes cuz the shit I love is when people mention music not a lot of people like or talk about so that's what I like about u! seeing something a lil different is really good in this kpop stan community 🙏🏽
@@pimsywimsy he works with SM, you can find interviews with him on Reacttothek where he talks about songs he worked on, i think some include WayV moonwalk and turn back time, nct 127 superhuman, and superm jopping?
one of my fav producers like ever is adrian McKinnon - he's a god and produced shinee's view, f(x)'s 4 walls, nct's superhuman, exo's obsession and many many many many many more (i think he also worked on jopping). ReacttotheK did an interview with him and it's on youtube if you want to check it out!
Lots of kpop stans like to neglect any song they don't like and say stuff like, "oh, this must of taken like 5 minutes to make", or, "Oh, they're a bad producer since this song isn't good", and that's entirely not true. As someone who's only seen a brief introduction into music production from school I can definitely say that so much thought and work goes into making a song and people should at least be able to appreciate that. Yes, depending on the song, it may take a longer or shorter period of time to make, but that doesn't mean it's a bad song. Edit: Monotree has also recently worked on groups such as Seventeen, Weki Meki, and Oh My Girl!
I'd like to add Anna Timgren as a rising producer/songwriter (topliner, perhaps?) for kpop! She's worked on Stay Tonight, Chicha and Flourishing (Chungha), Get Loud (Twice), So What (Loona), Dazzle Dazzle (Weki Meki) and many more ggs such as Gfriend, Bvndit and Izone!
yep. but she doesn't actually"produce" like making instrumentals. She writes vocal melodies. The author of the channel should make one video for songwriters too. I also like her workd a lot
@@alexc9278 ah yes, I checked more into her work after this and realised she's more of a topliner, from what I understood, but I did not know that when I wrote this comment (since a difference is rarely stated in for example colorcoded lyrics website). thanks for highlighting the difference! I'll edit my comment. The idea of making one for songwriters is nice as well, though it can be a bit more difficult if the person who runs this channel isn't fluent in korean...
loona’s songs with monotree are always a serve 💯 also it would be interesting to see a video of your favorite songs produced by idols (or like maybe a video of idol producers since you decided not to include that on this one)
I love LDN Noise, house is probably one of my favorite EDM subgenres next to trance. Another producer that I really love is Adrian McKinnon. Dude is a legend, and has a long list of hits: Jopping - SuperM, Superhuman - NCT 127, Tempo - EXO, Candy - Baekhyun, etc.
EL CAPITXN was a former idol but's now products under the BigHit label, he produces most of the songs on TXT, he also worked on songs for Wanna One and JBJ. I add that he also composed the songs of his group
I'm so glad these producers are getting their due credit, bc it's insane how influential they are in the sounds of groups and discographies. Idols are legendary for performing amazing songs, but the producers are lowkey the unsung heroes!
My favorite kpop producers are defiantly Leez and Ollounder. They mainly produce for Ateez and Dreamcatcher who happen to be my favorite boy and girl group, and they also produced Loca by Favorite which was literally my favorite song of 2019, so they're perfect for me. The best part is that I ulted both Ateez and Dreamcatcher, and loved loca before I even knew they were produced by the same people so it wasn't like I purposely like those songs because of that.
Same, I only got to know in Boca era when I paid more attention to Dreamcatcher that Leez & Ollounder have not only been deeply involved with their production since the beginning, but also have been the producers for Ateez!
BLSSD is highly underrated imo, they produced ‘Wannabe’, ‘Without you’ and ‘ONE (Lucid dream)’ by Golden child and they’re all bops with extremely good production.
I always think my favorite producers are basic (zico and adora) and thank you for making me discover talented producers.. i’m gonna do more research about my favorite songs now
this video is amazing. it's incredible to appreciate everyone who is behind the scenes here, the producers play such an important part! as a musician myself, i really focus on these things, and actually next year i'm starting classes related to composition and producing. thank you for making this video! i have loved your channel for a long time and i will always do💕
*as a producer myself i really admire LDN Noise, collapsedone, earattack, black eyed pilseung and Shinsadong tiger, there's just something about their production that gets stuck with your head..maybe it because they have the ability to create memorable chord progressions and catchy melody*
This is super cool! The research you put into your videos is really neat and the videos themselves are always super entertaining to watch! I hope this doesn't pressure you or anything but keep up the good work :)
I miss Sweetune so much! I really wish they would do more work these days... And Monotree are possibly my favorite producers in K-pop, mostly because of their work with ONF. They just have such a stellar discography.
Monotree served all the bops. I know they did lots for Loona and ONF, but I wouldn't have though they produced Galaxy, Valkyrie and Get cool. And Golden Child's She's my girl, oof another great song. Also Leez and Ollounder with Ateez and Dreamcatcher, got to hand it to them. Also if you stan Loona, you've got to like ONF
another one is FULL8LOOM. FULL8LOOM have a signature in every songs like the sound of (wooahh); SONG EXAMPLES that I know: -WJSN [La, La Love, You Got, New Me, Last Dance, etc.] -Golden Child [Spell, etc.] -Stray Kids [Pacemaker, etc.] -IZ*ONE [D-D-Dance, etc.] -GOT7 [Lullaby, etc.]
a lot of 3rachas music credits are under songwriting more than producing! for the songs they do produce/arrange, they often have others work w them as well, which is normal for most idol producers.
black eyed pilseung have made so many hits frm the second gen too ... combined theyve worked on bubble pop fiction roly poly volume up & trouble maker to name a few i really love their work and how theyve evolved so seeing their name pop up in this vid was nice
guys, hear me out on this one: moonshine is like the 2020s version of sweetune. they have the same reliance on harmonies for their choruses, but they pull inspiration from different eras for their instrumentals (sweetune pulls a lot from synthpop and 80s music; moonshine is more 2000s). they're my literal two favorites for a reason, i think.
e.one is one of my most favorite producers because in every song they made (especially songs of WJSN, Lovelyz, IZ*ONE and April), it gives ethereal, fantasy-like vibes, which is relaxing and feels like heaven
these producer spotlight vids are my fav genre of ktube, it’s really interesting to look at the patterns of specific producing teams’ styles and which ones mesh well with your taste!
my first thought was leez and ollounder cause they're like the only producers i know 💀 and also 3racha. definitely would check out these producers :) I love these kind of content, it's super informational and straightforward. You're doing a great job :)
Sweetune takes the crown. He literallyproduced the most iconic song of all time aka The Chaser. Who can compete with that ! I'm so satisfied with your list but personally i would add Yoo Young Jin too. That man gave iconic song after iconic song. Also his own stuff are awesome too. Def one of my favorite singer and producer of all time !
Also Eden and edenary. Hongjoong once said that Eden is the father of Ateez and its kinda true since he and edenary produce almost all of Ateez's songs. I don't know if they are working with other artists rn but I think they also produced for dreamcatcher
PWS Logos (Park Woo Sang) is my personal favorite. RBW in house producer. He has some bops such as Chungha's Snapping, much of Mamamoo's discography (ex: Hip, Starry Night, Egotistic) and a lot of Moonbyul, Hwasa and Wheein's solo songs (In my room, Love & Hate, Absence, Selfish, Twit, Maria, Be Calm, Easy, 25...) He also has a YT channel where he explains some of his songs and gives a lot of behind the scenes content.
Came in the coments to talk about leez and ollounder but since they're already mentioned I'ma talk about my man Nathan (네이슨) who produce bops for various artists like Pentagon, Seventeen, BTOB, The boyz and much others. Besides that, he also make his own songs and is part of a hiphop crew alongside Jamie (ex 15&), Kino (Pentagon), Vernon (Seventeen), Woodz and HoHo. Stan Talent Stan Nathan
BLACK EYED PILSEUNG LEGENDS, no one’s doing it better than them!! - some other bangers of theirs are Twice’s TT, Cheer Up & Likey + Chungha’s Roller Coaster Brave Brothers, Louis Frick Sveen & Shinsadong are sick too tho
Monotree and Hui are my absolute favorites. I love all of their works and they're all so unique! Monotree's songs always surprise me because they're so.. different. And very experimental, especially when working with ONF.
aaaaah i love these kinds of videos 🥺 personally i like black eyed pilseung bcs they deliver the best gg bops! monotree is also really good >< i love their member hwang hyun's arrangement for onf's songs in road to kingdom 🥺 thank you for showing love to kpop music producers! they definitely deserves a lot of credit >
Man!!how come most of the the songs that black eyed pilseung created are my favs??fancy, dumdhurum, gotta go,only u and i like that are my fav songs from the respective gps!!i also like brave brothers, shinsadong tiger, kim do hoon(rbw founder) tho..owh and i like teddy's past songs
hwang hyun if monotree is literally Korea’s Beethoven... I love him so much omg his chord structures are amazing and always surprising for me to listen to.
ok but monotree >>> i love literally ALL of those songs (most notably why and like that they’re sO good) some of my other favorites are: black eyed pilseung, mospick, ollipop & louise frick seven
I just found your channel yesterday and subbed after watching two videos. I love the topics you cover and the taste you have is amazing, I'm finding more songs to love because of you! Thank you for your content!
One of my favorite producers is Cha Cha Malone. He does a lot of r&b style songs that I really love. In each of his songs there's always "I need a cha cha beat boy" at the beginning and you already know it's a bop.
another producer i honor is Simon Petrén , he worked for red velvet's sunny afternoon, retro by shinee, black widow by pristin, lie again by svt( a golden treasure y'all), u need me by shinee, and many more. check him out! he's super underrated.
Sweetune work with 9muses for her golden era (2013) dolls, wild, gun and glue. Ryan jhun alsoa producer that had work with lee hyori, shinee, red velvet, and he have recent collaboration on the comebacks of way v, oh my girl (he is the producer of dolphin), nct, victon, izone. He is the CEO of Ateam entertaiment and the producer of his band VAV (wich all of their song are AWESOME)
I have so much respect for people who can create music and come up with these amazing and diverse sounds that literally have the power to change my mood, my day, make me cry, make me smile and just have me enjoy these songs.
monotree has become my favorite producer of all time that i think i’m now their fan lol. they have produced so many high quality music, especially g-high and hwang hyun. when i first listened to their songs even before i knew ithe song was made by them, i thought the song was made by foreign producer bcs of the grand-sounding music. for your information, monotree has become main song producer for some groups, such as loona and onf (monotree has been with this two groups since debut and worked together with the agencies to make the group’s own universe). some of my favorite by monotree that weren’t mentioned in this video are kiss later (loona’s yeojin), vivid (loona’s heejin), heart attack (loona’s chuu), we must love (onf), hear the sea (red velvet), moonlight melody (red velvet), and lucky (seventeen).
One of my favorite would definitely be: Leez, Eden, Ollunder (They mostly do music for Ateez and Dreamcatcher) and CB97, J.One, SpearB😂(They are the producing team in Stray Kids. Their stage names are Bang Chan who does the writing, composing and arranging, Han who does the writing and composing and Changbin who also does writing and composing. They also worked on some songs separate for example 19, Streetlight, I don’t want to admit but mostly they work together for the group)
