kpop songs non-listeners would HATE 

Kara Tasty Love, f(x) Nu Abo and Girls Day Female President can be liked by western people. I did not get how they would get bad reviews from non kpop fans.

when i was new to kpop, i loved it. i didn’t know a lot of people didn’t like it 😅

Same it’s one of my fave redvelvet songs, but my non kpop stan friend hates joy & yeri’s aegyo parts (in the sound not the visuals)

I remember at the time of release somebody complimented its "Disney funk" style and I think that's an appropriate description. The MV is a masterpiece and the "roller skate" booties on stage are iconic. The Pink Ocean/Windy Day album is terrific throughout. Liar Liar is a classic OMG era!

@@jeremiahignacio6441 i feel like they would go into the more palatable quirky category where if you watch the mv and listen to the song then you would think it’s funny rather than really strange, but if you just played them without any context i can see why people would be confused 😭😭

I feel like Female President is a song westerners will love. It has girl empowerement concept and Minah’s vocals are good.

Yeah they did cute songs before doing Loca (Loca kinda did well that's why most of their follow ups after that are like Loca or girl crushy) My fav song from them is 'Where are you from' which is a cute feel good song and I'm still listening to it from time to time haha

@@Nini-oc8fk That’s always such a hard question to answer for my multistan self! Well my ults are BigBang, 2NE1 and Mamamoo to try to give you an example of my taste. Second and third gen K-Pop are my most favourite and I also love me my rock and metal so any K-pop song that incorporates stuff like that usually scores high in my heart (think anything by DreamCatcher and N.Flying or JustB’s song Medusa). And then ANYTHING by P1Harmony and Purple Kiss is just veobvjeabe too (Anyone reading this: go stan them pleeeeeassseee! You won’t regret it!!! ❤❤❤) I’ll never say I dislike a song without having listened to it all the way through at least once (and hell sometimes I’ll come back to that same song days, months or even years later and fall in love with it instead) but there's definitely things that aren't my own personal taste. For example: I hate the nasally voices like Hyuna's. Hyuna's another story tho because she's always just seemed like a "try-too-hard" to me you know? Like she's obviously trying to be edgy and cool which just makes it all cringy to me. Moving on because I wish nothing but the best for Hyuna and that's just my personal preference of course! In general I tend to dislike songs that are considered “unconventional” and or “cringey” (for lack of better words) even by K-Pop standards and ones that are more heavy on EDM and experimental sounds (think that Taeyong and Hitchihiker collab Around, Banana Allergy Monkey by Oh My Girl Banhana, Catallena by Orange Caramel, Hmph! by WJSN Chocome and like any Crayon Pop song lol). Which is why a lot of this list is basically just a no for me. The few exceptions are Cheeky by El7zup, Female President by Girl’s Day, Liar Liar by OMG and Happiness by RV (though that last one is a rarity because there are like three RV songs I like and then I don’t like the entire rest of their discography).

I miss short clips of ALICE being bullied by LIME way too much..
