Ha, I almost missed this one while traveling in Thailand in January. FM is soo good, KQ is soooo good, and your demo is soooooo great as always! Especially the part how to import Sysex files. Now it pays out that I have always been such a nerd and storage all the patches from Synths I was selling. Just load my old presets into the iPad and they are there. Almost sounding the same as the originals. They are just missing the smokey lofi charme coming from the bad 12bit Audio converters from the DX 7 (1 !), but they are also missing the extra noise produced by these converters. PERFECT! And it looks way more handy to edit as the NI FM8, a perfect replacement

You can change the audio engine from the default 24bit to 12bit in the settings :)

Great synth, importing syx preset banks from the web works well now since the app’s been updated so you can import zip files directly in and it will allow you to play them. I’ve had some patches which don’t work and will crash the app. Fortunately, you can create new patch banks and copy existing ones as well as deleting them. You can pick and choose individual patches and put them into whatever patch bank you want. Creating whole songs using only this synth is possible due to the wide timbre range possible with this 6 operator FM synth. Rolling your own patches or modifying existing ones is about as easy as it gets.

Wow...Dexed for IOS. Spent the past 5yrs using my PC for live performance. Just getting into the IOS realm. So far, I have a few basics. SampleTank IOS, IGrand, ILectric, GB, Korg Module, AB3, BM3, Syntronik, SynthMaster and a few others. With my PC I use Cantabile to host all my VSTs for live performance. Even though AB3 and AUM are steps forward for layering and splits for live performance, looks like we are still far away from having anything similar to MainStage, Cantabile, or Forte. For now, state saving by some apps in AB3 is most important to me. Used your link to download KQ. Thanks.

Wowza! Talk about an embarrassment of riches! That collection is massive! Have you tried the Roli with it? It could use a better response, I'd like a way to tweak the cc's from the Seaboard Block. I get too much vibrato unless you turn the sensitivity down.

cool so far , but ive noticed that i cant save the sound edits i make even after using the store feature , also a basic arpeggiator would be really nice to have .

Had that problem too, but figured it out. You have to save both the preset AND the "cart" (as the collections are called). You do that by going to the cart section and either A: press "store" (top), press the cart you have in use (or another one) and say yes to whether you want to overwrite. B: press "Q.Save" (or something like that), which will make a new cart with the same name plus a number (classic). The cart name can be edited, as far as i remember, by first selecting it and then pressing the "i" in a cirkle to the right of the name. It can be deleted by swiping to the left and pressing the red delete button that appears (classic again). Hope that helped :)

Anyone use this with musicstudio app. I would like to use this with music studio to record with the DX 7 sounds and garageband iOS . Would it be possible to use musicstudio chord buttons to play KQ Dixie and record the midi in musicstudio. Thanks

Hello there. How is the Cpu hit on this one? What ipad is this? Am starting to have issues with some of the newer synths cause they are getting more Cpu hungry. Except for those that are not even compatible with an ipad 4 .....

Have you seen the KQ MiniSynth from the same dev, Ryouta Kira? It's the same price, also AU, and it's a fully modular synth, looks like a physical rack, with a ton of modules, including FM oscillators, no limits. I'm not skilled at all in modulation, but... WOW. Just saying. If you review it, make sure to say hi from the moon man (me) ;)

The gigantic number of presets is only an asset if there is a way to organise them. I have been trying for two days to save patches and copy them to other banks. Somehow patches are copied to every single new bank I’ve made. It is a nightmare ! It would be great if you could figure out the way to do this. The instruction video by the maker of this app shows buttons that are not on the current UI.

redbird saraceno when you click on the link it starts to load then it stops? Right? That's what happened to me, however it takes a minute to load, click on the screen a few times and eventually it will appear you just have to to play with it for a minute but they will load. Once you get it to work one time you will know what I mean. It's a little finicky. For sure...

Some of the banks/zips load when you first download them but when you go back to the cart they aren’t showing up there.. any tips on that? It seems like an awesome and cheap synth, thanks for putting us on to it

Nomad Scorpio If you need to put banks in the audio unit folder, you have to press store, rename it, and send to AUx.

Why arent these links working , its only been a few hours since this vid was posted WTF !? I can go to the audiobus forum and see the link you click on in this video but it doesnt work on my ipad air 2 . in using ios 11 but mine doesnt open up showing a zip file like yours in the vid . i dont see any security settings blocking downloads on my ipad annoying , i dont get it.
