Jan. 2023: I have watched and listened to this rendition of the MASS on numerous occasions. What I have not taken a much closer look at is the conductor. He definitely stole the show. Great rendition, marvelous interpretation and hilarious conducting!

Sehr schön! Pieter Jan Leusink hat mit Orchester, Solisten und Chor eine fröhliche und strahlende Aufführung realisiert.

This was absolutely breathtaking. I particularly enjoyed the glides from staccato-like orchestral parts to the more melodic and idyllic, if I might say so, rendition by four soloists, and then the blend of rhythmic and poetic flow of the terrific choir. I adored the pacing and the crisp enunciation and just loved every second. At age 23, Mozart wrote this shot Mass in Salzburg, after a fairly long period of being unemployed. For their sake, I hope that the Salzburgians, after hearing this masterpiece, made every effort to keep young Mozart around, but he was loathe to stay, and the rest is History, of course. Thanks so much.
