I have this board. It is OFF THE HOOK. Also, Love the demo. There was a trick you did with Grid sequence that I never knew was possible, and I DEFINATLY plan on using it. The only thing I have not been able to figure out is how to do a pattern of patterns. You know, create your chorus, then your verses, maybe an intro and of course a bridge. Then finally put them all together. I am open to some instruction if can help.
I have this board too, but my church uses a Korg Triton. One evening, I let my Music Minister check out the Microstation for comparison of sounds. No difference. And in some cases, the sound was better on the Microstation than on the Triton. For example, the music minister commented on how much he loved the "Stein Bass" sound.
I don't see why everyone hates mini keys. Maybe I've just dealt with them for a long time, but I can swithc around efforlessly for my microkorg to my DX7 to my piano, and then do some small things with my nanoKEY.
I'm starting a band, and I play keyboard. I don't have a keyboard yet, and I'm thinking about starting with either the MicroKorg XL or the Microstation. Which would be better to start with?
They're a little more general, whereas the microKORG sounds are synth focused. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
You can plug your Micro in to the Sp with a standard midi cable. unfortunately. SP 170 has no audio input. I suggest you to go and get a some other speakers like the ALtec lansing and hook it up. it'll sound much better.
Hi Dave! I've never used a "micro" korg and even though this microstation sounds good enough for me, i'm a little bit suspicious when it comes to keys. As they seem they are shorter than standard keys but what i wonder is if they are thinner also. I really need to know that. Thanks!
Wait, so not only is this just a workstation/ sequencer, but it can also function as a midi controller for a DAW? Is that right or did I misunderstand something..?
@kraftmusic I just wanted to say how I enable sound on computer software? I mean when I have gone through the program to play with this keyboard, there is no sound on computer, in the process itself I can't hear the audio into the computer at all, every time when I press the key. I have read the manual but it gives no sign. How do I make it work to hear the audio on the computer without hearing the keyboard? And how do I export file song on computer when you have finished recording?
Hi! I have both Korg SP170s and Korg Microstation. Can I hook up my microstation to SP170s so that my SP170s uses the sound produced by the Microstation? Thanks!
question, hopefully you can answer this. is there a way so that when playing live, i can change from one preset quickly to another one without having to go searching through my microstation for them?
I haven't played either, but personally I can't stand mini keys. I would get the PS60. It looks very solid. I'm planning on getting it myself, but can't really make the choice between a synth and a digital piano.
Hi Dave M... I am really encourage to use the Microstation as a keytar. As a project, I like to copy the Muse band keytar...with 25 keys kb and bass fretboard (with one-note chord feature-if I want to play rhythm on the fretboard). Who do I contact at Korg Customer Service who can assist me..... tnx ed
This Korg Microstation helps me a lot in creating sound programs:-) very much like it's multi timbral function. Take note guys i sold my Roland keyboards/Yamaha MM6 just for this keyboards because those two can only produce maximum of 4 sounds unlike KoRg Microstation it can create 16 sounds for a single set of sounds. GOOD JOB KORG.:-)
I'm thinking of getting this one or the MicroKorg, I'm a beginner when it comes to synths, so I'm looking for something simple to use, and I want to experiment from doom jazz to ambient to dubstep, I thought the MicroKorg was great for dubstep, electro and even some ambient stuff, but a bit limited as far as the "real-er" sounds go, so I started checking out this Microstation, but now I'm not sure how easy it is to create the more electronic sounds on this one...can anyone illustrate?
Hi, Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the microSTATION. I think the mini keys are pretty easy to get used to. You'll be making great music in no time! Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi, Like most workstations and synths, the microSTATION does not feature on-board speakers. You'll need to connect to external speakers, a home stereo system, or plug in headphones to hear the unit. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
I have one ,it has excensive SMOLE keys and finaly was a BAD selecion for me. Is the "best" method to forget the real category keys-playing. Is ONLY FOR TRAVELS, NOT FOR PRACTICE
