Tony Krank! For a while Tony was in the same office park as Fender's corporate office. If Lyle had seen Tony's first amps he would understand these wacky amps. I won't get into early Krank designs or what they were, how they were made or what amps they were modded from. Tony had a good run and he is a decent fellow.

Dimebag started using Krank in his post Pantera band Damage Plan, which is around the time of his death. I believe the Dimebag signature hadn’t been released or was just released when he died. Theres a Krank amps mini documentary on RU-vid, when you see the prototype you will be shocked. Seeing things like the way those pots and sockets are connected, I’m no longer surprised.

I’ve had 2 Revolution 1’s which are very similar circuits. The first one sounded great, the 2nd one had issues with oscillation/WAY too much gain/nasty top end. Once fixed it was just like the old one I had - the taper of the pots made more sense and it sounded a LOT better than when it was oscillating. I have a feeling the transformer was wired incorrectly and that was causing it. Apparently sometimes the brown and blue primary leads were the wrong way around. Could well have been a bad solder joint somewhere or something else though…. Slightly weird design but they can sound good when behaving.

Pot do not look like they pressed too hard against the board . Given how easy it is to get octal pcb socket that is sad. Given that the socket are chinaium . Xicon is one of the brand I avoid .
