@romannosejob thats harsh. This was a kids show. Watch CBBC now and see if you laugh at anything. Kids will crack up watching it while us adults sit there wondering what their laughing at. Its the same if kids watched 'The office' or "Jimmy carr live". I remember watching this when i was a kid and found it funny as f**k.
You can't beat the Brits in the art of taking the mickey out of oneself, and striving to do so in the most ludicrous manner one can imagine. Although I do think that the Japanese have a very fair case to claim otherwise.
What's wrong with these cynical commenters? This is just daft humour, and I like it. Some people need to get in touch with their inner child. I am well and truly a child of the 80s (35yo now). Way too many people of my generation have been brainwashed by political correctness and it has corrupted their sense of fun. (Don't get me started on all the other damage that has done!)
