Thanks for making this video. I just got Krark from draft night at my LGS and wanted to do something with him. I get a lot of people pair him with Sakashima, but I don’t have the money for a $40 card.
I built the deck to have greater synergy with Vial. The thing with the ritual is that you have to cast them before your big spell, so it is the CMC of the ritual that trigger Vial. Instead I went for spells that I can cast for cheaper but still have greater CMC (Deflecting Swat, Deadly Rolick, Besseech the Queen, Bedeck/Bedazzle, Bituminous Blast, Stone Idol Trap, etc.). With "free" spells like Deadly Rollick, you can cast it for that many times you win the flip with Krark... with cards like Guttersnipe it can be multiple triggers. I added things like Staggershock which trigger twice Vial due to rebound and if resolve on first cast you copy it, then on the "rebound" free cast can have chance to return it to hand with Krark and then recast it. My build is pretty new and had not played it a lot yet. Probably will gonna go through some tweaks, but to date I find it really fun to play. Theres some Traps card i've put in there but not sure if it will be as easy as I thgought to cast them for their alternate cost.
Love it! I've been wanting to make a deck that's completely chaotic and depends on luck, and Krark & Vital Smasher fit the bill to a T. Are there any newer cards that you'd add to this deck if you have to do this video today?
