BIG TP Motor on my Xmaxx hitting 78.8MPH on "small tires :) if you want speed go at least 1200kv and a bigger motor than the castle! Heat is a non issue for me - all about the gearing. Loved the video keep em coming.
@@show2ime @Show2ime so you have the castle 800kv motor and MM8s esc with 35/35 gear hitting 85? What did you do with the different bullet sizes from the motor to the esc?
Just installed a 36t pinion with the pps mount. Doesn't look like there is any more room for a larger pinion? I think I'm maxed out on the motor mount?
Did it get really hot? I ran mine with a 41t pinion with leopard 1340kv and max5 esc and it got extremely hot, as well the front tires would glitch/giggle really bad when I would hit the throttle from completely stop

So I know that motor has larger bullets than the MM8s esc takes. What did you do there? I have that esc new in box but contemplating the whole set up since I'll need to change buttlet size
Solution: get an XMaxx that goes 50 mph stock and has a good center diff and can do backflips outa the Box but I do like the Kraton 8s and I would get it if it wasn’t as expensive as the XMaxx
K8S when it comes to top speed 100% stock, its on par to a 100% stock Xmaxx but if we talk about real world side by side speed, K8S is faster because of its handling alone. The K8S has rock solid diff's and bulkheads which is much more solid then the Xmaxx's. As far as backflips go, its a 30+lb rc with a low stance, low center of gravity so its a given its not the best at backflips stock and not everyone wants to do backflips or jump for the matter.
I have an Xmaxx and it doesn’t do 50 out of box. On my 2nd esc too, first one caught fire. Traxxas had to make upgrades for the center differentials...be cause they weren’t up to the stock task.
Check out the duratrax lockups x 24mm belted tires. They are awesome! They work great on my xmaxx 8s and some people say that they work great on the K8S too 👍
Curious to see how the run time and motor heat were compared to the 35 tooth. 50mph is plenty fast enough for me if it keeps the heat down and extends the run times.
