Just about to watch but, before I do I want to say I’ve watched Liah for many years. She’s educated herself very well and worked hard in this line. I trust her and her brand, as I trust you. Now on to the review.
i've heard so much about krave beauty, and i havent ventured into it because i have such sensitive skin... i'm literally AFRAID of trying new skincare. I NEEDED THIS. thanks, dr. dray!!! 💖
Hi I feel you, my skin is VERY sensitive too so I would just say that there is no need to buy new products if you have found something that already work for you. There will always been new products on thr market. We don't hsvr to buy snd try everything.
@Bangtan VIP Have you tried Kale-lalu-yaha? I also have sensitive skin and I want to try it due to my clogged pores, But I'm afraid a glycolic acid would be too harsh for my skin :/
Congrats on a great sponsorship! I know you will only speak on behalf of products that you would use and suggest to your patients.... that is a rare thing to come by these days😁
Liah Yoo, the founder of the brand, has worked in Amorepacific Corporation Korea before, and that experience in the Korean corporation has probably served her really well in formulating her own brand. I particularly like the minimalist approach to skincare in this brand.
I live for Krave beauty. I use the matcha cleanser and beet sunscreen everyday. With my retinoid 0.5 sometimes. I swear I haven't gotten a pimple in 2 months. Sooo good
Sees a Dr. D. Video and grabs notebook to jot down product notes and review. Dr. D. and her recommended cerave products and Vanicream lip with spf, has me looking ten years younger. Thank you Dr. D.
I love the Great Barrier Relief. It has been doing wonders for my skin, it even calmed down a patch of rosacea I have on my right cheek. I will continue purchasing this again and again. I love the message that Krave sends out! I now keep it simple with my skincare thanks to you and Liah Yoo. 😊😊
thank you for writing this comment!! i was really worried about purchasing the GBR moisturizer due to the latic acid and urea in it (i also have rosacea :^T) hearing your anecdote makes me feel a lot more comfortable with potentially purchasing it. :^)
@@ash5779 you're so welcome! For me it's been very calming and restoring. I have sensitive, acne prone skin along with rosacea and this hasn't flared anything as of yet. I'm going on 4 months of using it and it's been great. It's even helped with my dry patches. If you decide to buy it, I hope you love it too! 😊💚🌴
I would really like to see an updated Walmart skincare video. I have been using and loving IT COSMETICS skincare. But, it is hard for me to afford. I would love to see Dr Dray show a video of her buying what facial skincare products she would purchase, if she was told she could only buy her skincare from Walmart. :) Everything from AM routine to PM routine.
For dry skin it doesn’t work. I used it for 1 week and my skin was feeling super dry after 3 hours. I’m going back with Neutrogena hydro boost water gel (blue one)
I remember I watched Liyah Yoo's video about tamanu oil quite long ago and she was recommending it for hyper-pigmentation. I had lots of dark spots around my chin at the time, so decided to give it a try and, even though it broke me up a bit, it got rid of all the hyper-pigmentation :) Now, after watching your videos, I don't give the hyper-pigmentation a chance as I'm applying sunscreen on a daily basis.
Loro Moro Liah did discuss that Tamanu wasn’t the most occlusive oil, but also not the least. She was explaining why GBR has the ingredients it has. Yes it’s a relatively high amount but Everything Clogs my pores and GBR doesn’t. Farsali’s Volcanic Elixir is 100% Tamanu and yes, that will breakkkk me outtt! Tamanu can also be found in the legendary $200 Vintners Daughter serum- although I prefer GBR, plus the Ordinary’s Reservattol/Ferulic acid serum( the main ingredients in Vintners- for $155 less) I think if the Tamanu is clogging pores PaulascChoice or Cosrx BHA serum used a few times a week would help, but I’m not Dr.Dray- I’m Dr.C****** so let’s see if she weighs in!
Yes that video is amazing! It turned me into a tamanu oil fanatic. I had suffered from acne and was totally fine and it healed my scarring. Couldn't be happier with it. And it protects against sun damage
I just found the Neutrogena Hydro Boost cream for dry skin (no fragrance) in my local supermarket here in Belgium. First time I ever saw Neutrogena here. It was over 12 euro but there was a 25% discount on it, so I got it for less than 10 euro. For that price I am willing to give it a go! Thank you for the recommendation. I know this has 0 bearing on the video, but I just wanted to mention it and thank you!
@@consciouscommunity3897 thank you so much. Eager to try it, but I'm just on the last bits of my previous layering moisturizer (I layer my moisturizers as I have very dry skin), so have to finish that up first.
For anyone using a reinoid that has one of those days when you overdid it, Krave Beauty's The Great Barrier sealed in with CeraVe skin renewing night cream is perfect. I've been having extra sensitive skin where everything burns cause I overdid it with 0.025 tretinoin so my skincare is: - Klairs uncented supple preparation (about 3 layers, no joke) - Skinlex 10% niacinimide (I need this niacinimide because the last time I had stopped using it my pores went back to being huge and I'm not willing to risk that happening again) - Missha Time revolution intensive moist (more hydration cause my poor skin has been overproducing oil) - Great Barrier (heavenly music) -CeraVe skin renewing night cream (It's so thick but it slides perfectly over the oiliness that Great Barrier leaves and seals it)
I can't wait to try the Beet Shield...once it's back in stock! There seems to be a lot more brands that are more scientifically oriented and mindful of what kind of ingredients actually work. Brands like Beauty Counter and No B.S. Beauty come to mind as well. It could just all be marketing strategy but I appreciate companies who cut out the silly packaging and advertising campaigns and focus on the ingredients.
Dr. Dray, I've been using the beet shield and great barrier relief and they're both amazing. I noticed how your face and voice both lit up when you were talking about the beet shield! I love them. I agree that the beet shield is amazing. My next target is the Matcha Hemp hydrating cleanser.
What a terrific in-depth review! I really appreciate that Dr. Dray supports such highly ethical brands! The beauty industry is creating ecologic havoc ... packaging, as well as all of the crap that's going into the water table! Cruelty free, environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, science based, toxin free products should be the law of the land but unfortunately it's up to we consumers to purchase responsibly! Krave seems like a fantastic choice!
I love Krave Beauty! I am loving the new moisturizer, Oat So Simple, which works excellently combined with Great Barrier Relief and is very thoughtfully formulated!
I use Barrier relief on it's own in the evening. Maybe it's just my youthful skin, but it really is perfectly enough for me. Also that sunscreen is my favourite to ever exist!
Thanks for the review! I’ve only heard and read great things about Krave and I’m dying to try all their products but they still don’t have international shipping. 🥺
I am a makeup wearer and often watch RU-vid videos on makeup tutorials. I absolutely cringe when these makeup artists start giving skin care product advice! 🤦🏻♀️
So, I recently started getting into skincare and wearing sunscreen, I’m 17. My mom noticed and scolded me, saying sunscreen is bad because the sun is good for your skin. She says I won’t get any vitamin D or any of the benefits the sun brings and that “sun baths” are good. I should also add she’s really into alternative medicine and I’m the one paying for my skin care. Love your videos ♥️
J Thompson I tried to tell her she was wrong and she told me I don’t know anything and that she can find doctors and dermatologists saying the same thing she says. She then called me a hypocrite cause I wanted to get my nails done which would expose me to UV rays
Zeera P Your mother is wrong. Her belief in needing sun exposure for Vitamin D is outdated. It was the prevailing thought many years ago and many people still believe it. People tend to believe what they were taught when they were growing up and don’t vary from it. It sounds like that’s what your mother is doing. Keep listening to Dr. Dray and you’ll have excellent, up-to-date info. Ignore attempts by your mother to undermine your self confidence by calling you names. That’s a well known strategy by people who don’t know how to support their opinions. Don’t listen to it and don’t let it affect you. Your skin will be beautiful when you are your mother’s age if you listen to a dermatologist such as Dr. Dray. UV rays do more than burn the skin. They cause aging, such as brown spots, loss of elasticity and wrinkles. Dr. Dray has a video entitled: Vitamin D and the Sun: A Dermatologist’s Thoughts. Just search for “Dr. Dray” and “Vitamin D” in the search bar snd it should pop right up!!!!
Zeera P: Some nail salons use UV dryers to set gel nail polish. If yours does, put water resistant sunscreen on your hands/feet prior to your manicure/pedicure.
Zeera P well I don’t know where your mother spent her formative years but she was very misinformed. That’s something people used to say in the 50’s in the US. It’s why my uncle died of skin cancer 20 years ago. Very very very bad advice. Deadly advice.
Dr. Dray I really enjoy your videos and there the reason why I get so happy in the mornings because I get to watch your amazing videos they just start my mornings off right :)and I just want to thank you for your informative, honest videos😄😃Happy Happy wednesday😊
adriana salazar: She has lots of videos on cruelty free. Just type “Dr Dray cruelty free” in the You Tube search bar. The YT search bar is a great tool to find published videos on topics you’re interested in. Use different keywords to see which videos appear in the search results or peruse her channel playlists.
I'm super glad to hear that you approve this product. I have Keratosis Pilaris on the sides of my cheeks & Im stoked to know that the Kale-Lalu-yAHA can be effective towards it. Thanks so much for the review!! ❤️
Love what you said about the toner!! I use the Environ SebuTone clarifier recommended by my derm. It’s formulated with lactic acid & salycilic. Low amounts he said too prevent irritation. I use it in morning mainly on my T-Zone & it has helped significantly for oiliness & somewhat Acne! Not drying at all & works great!
I have almost exclusively been using the cleanser for months now. It's such a good cleanser for my sensitive skin especially since I don't wear makeup often and don't need thorough cleansing. The serum also helped get rid of my dryness from the winter, and helped whenever my skin got too compromised. It's definitely not an everyday serum, but a really good reset button when your skin is crying for a little extra TLC.
Hi, Dr Dray. Could you share your thoughts on L’Oreal’s patented ingredient, Pro-Xylane (Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol), which was first developed by Lancome? Based on L’Oreal, this ingredient is “anti aging” and can supports skins own G.A.G synthesis.
@@xiangwucheng9706 Hi what I meant by that is that in the end it is the same thing everything developed by Lancome, l'Oréal Paris, kiehl's Laroche Posay, Cerave,, Giorgio Armani, Maybeline, Garnieretc.... is defacto patent and owned by L Oreal. The resource/fund research and development is in the end l'Oréal.
You made me buy so many things! Just to let you know that I tried Cerave Am lotion and it’s amazing for my oily skin! It’s like the best primer ever!! Your advices totally transformed my skin, Pack your bags and come to Croatia for holiday!
Hi Dr Dray, thank you for all the information you have given us all.I agree with quite a few of your RU-vid family, you should have your own brand, I would certainly buy them...we can trust that you wouldn’t put anything in your products that you wouldn’t use yourself!...see you tomorrow x 😉
just placed an order yesterday and was looking for videos on their products....and the next day my favorite skincare youtuber posts a video on it! I'm very happy about my purchases now
Thank you! I was just contemplating purchasing some if the products from Krave Beauty since I've been watching Liah Yoo for a while and my skin has been not that great. Now that it has gone through your approval, I feel so much more relieved.
I’ve been using Krave and other products recommended by Liah almost exclusively for over a year now and my skin has never been better! I stick to the simpler and more affordable items she mentions (soothing, hydrating, sensitive).
I know you already get a lot of requests to review this and that, but can you please comment on the effectiveness of Clinique products and if they use good/bad ingredients? There’s also a zero waste brand called Loli Beauty that claims to use all natural skincare ingredients, but I would like to hear a dermatologists perspective on this. Thanks!
Dr Dray, could you review expensive brands products (Clinique, Clarins, Lancome etc) ? Are they a complete waste of money or are they good but just over priced?
damo7254 I'm no Dr Dray but if the product is overprised, contains fragrance and potentially irritating ingredients such as essential oils...that would make it into the first guess category by her standards🙄
@@theoracle1955 she said in one of her shopping at ulta videos, that she likes that product, but that u can find something similar for a smaller price tag.
I'm using the entire Krave line. For over 3 months. And my skin has NEVER LOOKS SO GOOD. I literally get comments on an almost daily basis about how nice my skin is and I have never had that be the case.
You both are my saviour dr. dray and Liah, been watching you both to know more about what to use about my skin that is suitable for my sensitive skin. Wish I knew you guys when I was in my early 20s since I didn't know any better before, now in my 30th. You saved my pimples and gained confidence again. 💙
Watched your provided link on Beet the Sun. Thanks for pointing out this sunscreen isn’t rosacea friendly. Heaven only knows how much I’ve learned from you, and I am improving my ability to decipher through ingredient labels - well, at least those written in English. Great review.👍🏻👍🏻
What do you think about the halo beauty vitamins? There are 3 available for women: one for hair skin and nails, one for just skin (i am curious about this one), and a multi vitamin that works along with the skin vitamin. I have been curious about them for a while now and i have yet to hear any info about them from a professional view.
True. Although it would be nice to see what she thinks about those vitamins(especially the Kiwi Booster one). I've seen SOOOOOO many positive reviews.....but meh. Idk. Lollllll😋
I recently bought both Great Barrier Relief and the Beet Shield. I have been loving Great Barrier relief as a serum under moisturizer. The Beet Shield, however, not so much. It doesn’t irritate my eyes which is a big plus, but it sits on my face like a greasy film that won’t absorb into my skin, even hours after application (and even after applying less than I should for a sunscreen). I have very oily skin, so maybe it’s not the best for my skin type and could well be amazing for drier people.
Thank you dr dray. I heard every other youtuber saying glycolic acid toner and bought one for myself. I didn't tolerate it well and had peeling dry patches and extreme sensitive skin. I am slowly coming out of tht phase.thanku for saying tht. It was really helpful
Hi I have to say that everytime I hear that alcohol denat is not really a problem when it is in high amount in a product I cringe... And before anyone comes from me. I usually always follow Dermatologist advices not bloggers etc... But that's the reason my acne skin kept getting worse as a teenager. As everytime Dr was prescribing me acne treatments there was alcohol in it. I felt it was wrong but they told me nope it's in my head an I was just a teen. So it took me years and ONE Dermatologist who explain me that many of his patients actually also have issues with that ingredient to realize I was not crazy to think that my skin can t take it. That ingredient irritates my sensitive skin so bad caused more hyperpigmentation and used to make me break out like crazy . I also have some family members and some friends who do not really have sensitive skin in general whose skin can't handle it too. So I am just saying to be careful... Listen to your skin too.
I've been curious about Krave, seeing rsve reviews everywhere. I'll definitely check out their products. The sunscreen sounds what I need i.e. the part about reducing large pores. Now that it's summer my sebaceous glands are really pumping out oil. I've used a product a few years ago containing Tamanu oil....I'm going to give Krave's a try. Thanks Dr. Dray for the great video (as always)!
Dr. Dray, In your video about comodone prone skin, you mentioned that one issue was a problem with the skin barrier. After seeing this video, I was wondering if the Krave Great Barrier product would help with that. I am so thankful to have found your videos. I am learning so much from you. I really appreciate your honest approach to skin care.
Hi Dr. Dray! I love Krave Beauty. All the products have completely changed my skin. Can you please review Fourth Ray Beauty skincare? They are a relatively newer skincare brand that I’ve been intrigued by recently but they have so many products that I become overwhelmed and never end up purchasing anything. Thank you! You’re amazing and I love learning from you!
Mi Mi Tran What products do you use in your skincare routine? I’m curious because I really want to get this sunscreen and you also have sensitive combo skin like I do.
I have dry-sensitive skin and it personally made my face look really greasy and oily, so much that I had to completely forgo any moisturizer or hydrating products underneath. I suspect it's the macadamia oil that's causing the "dewy" look on me but interesting to hear it have different finishes for others.
Hi Dr. Dray great video. The great barrier relief sounds maybe similar to cerave ceramide boost gel. The beet the sun has too many ingredients. I like elta md. The ingredients is very short. Thank you for a great video.
