But aren't they changing how Kraven got his powers? In the comics he takes a potion that gives his powers. Also looks strange that he's jumping around on the walls like Sabretooth
@JuicedCazyD In the original comics he developed a hard rhino skin but I think they changed it in the later comics to a suit. Scorpion wears a suit too I think
@Pete Parker2288 I did not know that about the original comics thanks, my spiderman comic knowledge goes off of the 90s cartoon and such so I only remembered him in a suit
One lesson this trailer reminded me of is that parenting is not for everyone. The way I see it, the difference between heroes and villains is how their origin stories were forged by lousy parenting or tragic loss of them.
Because he is. He’s Aaron-Taylor Johnson. He also played Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) in Avengers: Age of Ultron who was my favorite. He’s one of my favorite male actors
True, this is JC Chandor's 5th movie and he has not made a single bad one before this. I don't know how much studio interference and stuff like that was involved but Chandor's both experienced and talented enough to come out with, at the very least, a decent final product.

I think this could be the “Wonder Woman” of the Sony universe, and what I mean by that is how most of the films in the universe were divisive, this could be the movie that most of the fans think “hey that was pretty good”
It would be so sick for Coy to be hired by one of the companies as a liaison for the comics or even writer. His knowledge and love of comics would help make a movie comic fans really want.

Kraven the Hunter comes off like a story about Kraven son. Trying to become his own Man. There is apart of me that’s like yeah that story can work. And another part like Aaron Taylor was already a pretty cool Quicksilver. These Variants are getting crazy 😵💫🤧😵
The lion blood for powers is so goddamn funny. Morbius also got powers from bat blood, I hope they continue doing it for their movies. Just embrace the campiness. Make a movie about The Wall and make him gain powers because he ran into a wall or some shit, would be incredibly funny
This was a cool trailer. I’m so glad that they are finally going rated R for one of these Sony Spider-Man “villain” movies. And from just these few scenes alone, all the action, blood and gore looks really great and very fitting for a character like Kraven. I think that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is actually doing a really good job, the way he looks, acts and talks feels like an accurate representation of Kraven. But I do hope that at some point in the movie he has the accent. I’m also very interested to learn about what Rhino’s role will be in this movie. Also, I don’t really mind this, and I don’t know all that much about Kraven other than just some basics, but I thought what made Kraven such a formidable force towards his opponents was that he was the most skilled, powerful and dangerous hunter even without the use of super powers. So it seems kind of weird to me that in this movie it appears that Kraven was only able to become the Hunter by getting super human abilities.
Im torn. On the one hand, this looks like a decent film like Venom, and I will watch it. On the other hand, Sony is continuing its "Spider-Man villain without Spider-Man" thing and that irritates me a bit.

Personally I would have preferred if in the comics Kraven had stayed dead. Even bringing him back as a clone was just kind of stupid but I look forward to see how they adapt him.
I'm just not sure how I feel about seeing animals hunted! Even wild ones like lions and wolves! I love animals! I say as I'm eating chicken while watching this...😅
I still wish we got to see Tom Holland's own fan casting of Jason Momoa as Kraven, but ATJ looks badass here and you can see why Sony picked him for this after seeing the "Bullet Train" dailies. Also, yeah the whole lion's blood superpowers threw me for a loop, but I'm a sucker for both R-rated as f*ck action flicks, and I've enjoyed both Venoms more than most (though I totally agree with a lot of people's problems with them), so I'm definitely excited for this... Plus Ariana DeBose as Calypso... 😍😍

I hope at the end of Kraven's movie that we get hints for his appearance in a Spider-Man movie, although I do hope it's for the Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield Spider-Man could finally be THE Spider-Man that could bring to our movie screens the live-action Sinister 6. Holland's universe tried doing it in the 1st movie with Scorpion & Vulture (but denied it in-movie from Toomes) & I don't think there's much villains left for the 6 in Maguire's universe. Andrew Garfield's universe laid down his 6 with the most hints from the Gentleman in his with Green Goblin & Rhino (plus Doc Ock & Vulture; as well as hints with Mysterio & Kraven). Sure the other 2 Spider-Men fought against aliens, but how would they feel if one of them had to fight against against a syndicate of all of his worst villains against him together!!!!!
Movie definitely looks decent at bare minimum. I’m just glad Kraven is getting some recognition as of recent, a main role in Spider-Man 2 and now he’s finally getting featured in a film not mention it’s his own. All I can hope is that this movie is at least better than both venoms and mourbis.
I know im prolly the odd one out but man its hard seeing all these characters i love getting shoved behind R rated. On DC side too I almost threw up during the suicide squad and was so damn excited for it too. Ever since then seems like they just been making things more and more violent. Its made me anxious about DC's future too. Hope it doesnt just become an unwatchable gore fest, cos man that would be disheartening to see.
I went into this trailer holding my breath and finished with my jaw wide open. If the tone of the trailer is the same throughout the movie, I'm actually looking forward to seeing it.
It looks good! I don’t care if the movie is rated R or PG-13. All I want is a good movie because I have not been a fan of the Sony Spider-Man Universe with Venom and Morbius.
For a gory action film, it looks fine. But as a Kraven movie, naaaaaaahh. But hey, a better representation of the character will be shown in Playstation Spider-Man 2.
Sony seems to be bringing in good quality movies lately. Across the Spider-Verse was awesome! A future live action Miles Morales Spider-Man movie, alongside a all female Spider-Verse movie. And this looks pretty good and Johnson certainly looks the part. Thank goodness its R-Rated

I can't believe this movie going to be R-Rated Sony Marvel Standalone film....They actually listen to all the fans and correct their wrongs. This trailer look phenomenal and I love the actors and actress in this movie Russell Crowe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose( West Side Story) and Levi Miller( Pan & A Wrinkle in Time) as young Kraven.....In my opinion I think he should have been the main villain in the newer Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland or Sony will probably might have their own Spider-Man Miles Morales....Greg the next time you see Coy tell him to stop flexing because he making us look bad and work extra hard in the gym just to get where he is😂 jk Haha.

I feel with every big step sony takes, they two steps back. They should just focus on their "Spider-Verse". And giving spider people characters their own movies that connect over time.
At Mark 2:45, the comment about a "radioactive lion" reminded me of something that I forgot to share with Korey over at "Double Toasted". (Yes, I saw his first. But your second!) I saw a cartoon about "Spider-Man" posted at "ARThusiast". He gets bitten, not by a bull bovine but by a cow bovine, and gets a big udder with teats where his sex organs used to be! He's squirting milk by milking himself but he looks like he's masturbating at people! 😁 That reminds me of the Saturday morning "Ghostbusters" in which Vampires and Werewolves gained each other's traits after a fight! 😁😅
At Mark 6:15? Whatever. John's observation makes me think that they wanted "Tarzan" back but failing that, they modified their character to be more like that character. If so, that's fine with me. I used to have "Tarzan" comics published by both "DC", "Marvel", and others. 😊
I was a little skeptical when they changed Kraven into an animal lover, but as long as he's still ruthless, and a *villain* , im happy. Villain solo movies tend to turn them into antiheroes or heroes. I just want Kraven to be a bad guy, thats all.
I could see them incorporating some sort of mind altering subplot of sorts late in the movie, or in a possible follow-up that makes him more predatory towards someone or some thing and winds up with him constantly longing the next hunt. 🤔
This looks like it's gonna be REALLY enjoyable, and far far better than Morbius...ATJ is looking great in this, too, so I genuinely hope this means he won't be returning as Quicksilver in the MCU. I'm loving the inclusion of Calypso (who I really only know from the Daredevil comics when she took control of him) and Rhino (hopefully a much better, and longer-serving iteration than the short-shafted crap they gave Paul Giamatti), and it's just looking really really fucking enjoyable. It'll be interesting to see Kraven played more as an anti-hero than an outright villain though, because that's what it looks like they're doing with him here...
Honestly, I'm not liking this. Don't get me wrong, the action looks great, I'm just sick of Sony using Spider-Man villains, turning them into anti-heroes, cutting their connections to Spider-man, and making their antagonist just another Spider-man villain. It's lazy and disrespectful to the source material (Spider-Man comics), especially considering that the thing that makes these characters popular in the first place is their connection to Spider-Man, so without that, the movie just feels like cheap clickbait for the sake of making a profit. Also, why the hell are they giving him powers? (Not to mention, by getting bitten by a lion🤦♂). They just took away what made Kraven such an interesting and unique Spider-Man villain compared to the others! And why does Russel Crowe's character feel way more like Kraven than Aaron Taylor Johnson? He's got the perfect face, accent, and personality.
Their reaction to Sony actually course-correcting and making content the way it needs to be made, was priceless! Great reaction! Now let's just hope Sony is really doing what this trailer implies.

Personally, I don’t think the violence and gore will make up for its flaws, which right now for me are: the “radioactive” lion 😅, the lack of that classic Kraven accent and the familiar story of dad-son battle of wits and ethics, which could be interesting but I don’t know if it works for Kraven in my opinion. I’ve read a lot of comics but not a lot of Kraven-centric stories - of course I read Last Hunt and the 2019 Hunted storyline (which was excellent by the way). For me what is compelling abt Kraven is his sense of competitive confidence in hunting his prey, without much competition - until meets the friendliest neighbor wall-crawler. He is then both impressed and annoyed by his inability to hunt Spider-Man and starts feeling like some sort of imposter, a fraud, a lesser hunter and man for not being able to do what he has trained his whole life to do. All this to say that a) I’m still sad that we have no Spidey-Kravey interaction here and b) although this retelling might be interesting as an individual film, they might move so much away from the source and base idea of Kraven that it becomes… disappointing. Idk. I wasn’t that impressed tbh. And i love violent superhero movies and tv - The Boys is one of my favorite things ever. Sorry for the rant. I have nobody to super-geek with 😅
I am baffled by how Sony does these movies. There’s like barely anything related to comics, designs, settings, suits. They have the rights to the clones, prowler, spiderman 2099. And they make the most boiler plate action movies that would be in the bargain bin/ netflix fodder.
