Fantastic, and even went with slot rims. When Grand Dad Passed away in 85, I inherited a bone stock Desert Tan, with a 351 clev. Hope to get another some day. Godley Car!
I installed a Art Morrison 4 bar triangulated rear clip. From there we made a new floor pan and added roughly 8 inches to half of the stock wheel tubs. Looking in the trunk I wanted it to look stock. Everything is hidden by the leather trunk panels we made. Thanks and good luck on your project.
I've never really been a 69-70 Cougar fan... 67-68's for me. But yours is mighty purdy, and convinces me that the 70 can be a beautiful Coug. Good job.
We added roughly 8 inches to the rear tubs. running 18x8's and 18x10's. Wilwood brakes..13 inch rotors and 6 piston in the front and 4 piston in the rear. Thanks.
I am wanting to put 315/35 20 out back on my Lincoln . . Was gonna notch the frame . . I might have to go with a whole new set up out back . . Thanks for the info
You bet. My 67 XR-7 looks like it's the same exact color as your 70. Which must be a Cougar factory color. My XR-7 could use a fresh coat of paint. I haven't been able to find out from anyone what that particular color was. I've seen it on another 68 Coug, but the guy didn't know the color either. Considering that you apparently invested so much time and effort getting your Cougar the beautiful level that it is, I would hope you might be able to tell me what that color was. Thanks for any info.
Hi, Supernice Cougar. - I work with a resto of my 1970 Cougar Convertible, that will have something between a " Retro-look" and a "Pro Touring look" and will also be built as an Eliminator Convertible tribute. - I will be very happy if you can tell me the exact dimensions of the wheels and backspace of them ( Backspace rear and wheelsize / diameter etc.
Really nice build. What size of wheels and disk brake rotors do you have? I am building a 69 pro-tourer and the wheel selection gives me a big headache...
You should use spell check, dump ass !!! If you knew anything about cars, you would know The Cougar Eliminator came from the factory with a rear wing. But hey thanks for checking out my ride, its a blast to drive.
