You just can't beat a Jackson V shaped guitar (either King V or RR) with a Kalher tremolo...The sustain and treble on the them is enormous...They cut SOOOOO much in the mix for those old-school Thrash tones. I got 2 used, I can't leave them down. Kalher fixed bridge is equally effective and offers rock solid tuning stability, while the tremolo is like butter...

The Megadeth guys (Marty & Dave) used Kahler fixed bridges for a really long time. Dave didn't start experimenting with other bridges (floyds) until the mid/late-nineties.

@@Nghilifa Yeah mate..I actually own both guitars :) Dave's KV pro with Kalher fixed bridge is a RIFF MACHINE..So fat sounding but still super tight!!! Marty's Kelly KE-1 is little bit more open sounding (despite both having JB-4s) and its super cool for soloing because of that. But, as usual, its one of the most unbalanced guitars on earth and I had to adjust both strap buttons to make it work standing. However, I also have a Carvin V220 with Kalher tremolo and its the sweetest tremolo ever! It had a bad reputation of being a string cutter BUT if you know how to set it up, its perfect.

Awesome tone! EMG81 > TS > JCM800 (Carvin here, but similar to the 800) \m/ Easy to set up + the amp stays stock. For the speakers, I'd guess maybe 75 watt Celestions... V30s are nice but too creamy, you need the serious upper mid crunch here.
