So many musicians "flat line" Haydn, squeezing his voice into a narrow emotional lane. How refreshing to hear someone free enough to bring a full dynamic range to the interpretation of his score. I strongly suspect Papa Haydn would approve. Well done, Khatia.

Such amazing modulation -- every note is a "big deal", is important, is made special, gets its own particular appreciation and emphasis, nothing is mechanistic, every moment is felt with deep experience, pronounced with deep authority. The pacing is constantly variable in tiny increments, nothing is wasted, no opportunity for meaning is left flat or stale. So alive, sensitive to every breath, for the sheer joy of living and beauty and kindness and grace and passion and everything that makes every moment interesting. A detailed commentary could note hundreds of nuances as the sound unfolds. You have to call this genius. If she is alive, there is hope for the human race and a reason to live.

I finally have experienced a modern performance of the Haydn Piano Concerto in D major and not the arthritic performance of Haydn or Mozart one usually hears from the "authentic" pianists who think that Haydn and Mozart must be played behind "a fan" of antiquity when Haydn and Mozart themselves would love to hear their compositions played "modern" by "modern" musicians. Khatia has the mind of a true musician not the mind of a scholar musician!

What a blessing to be able to watch a perfect performance of this elegant music. We are fortunate that Khatia has a perfect memory for the music... And for where the keys are! She can't see them, for her pretty hair is in the way. I play with eyes wide open and still miss lots of notes.

She just Resurrected Haydn from all the previous pianists interpretations. Brilliant and with no papers or even looking at keys in the piano with her eyes shut. Most probably Mozart was doing the same.

This is my first time hearing the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and I'm wowed by them. Such wonderful music that they make ! Then there is my favorite: Khatia Booniatishvili ... she is my favorite musician of the world. I can only hope that Khatia stays as wonderful as she is. To me Khatia is the consummate pianist, artist, woman. She is wonderful. A most beautiful flower that you see in the most unanticipated circumstance. A daffodil with the morning dew drops glistening in the sunlight is Khatia.
