Најважније туристичко место, на острву Крф или Керкира је невероватно шармантни главни град, Крф, који се налази на источној страни острва.
Настао у осмом веку пре наше ере, град се мењао под утицајем различитих култура које су њиме владале, али Венеција, која је овде остала скоро 400 година, оставила је највећи утисак на његов данашњи изглед!. Уске уличице, поплочане углачаним каменом, симпатични тргови испред цркава, камена степеништа и балкони са оградама од кованог гвожђа, натераће вас да на тренутак помислите да сте у италијанском граду.
Шетајући старим градом Крфа можете се дивити различитим грађевинама које су занимљиве са историјске, културне и архитектонске тачке гледишта.
Поглед на град и његове мале и велике зграде, посебан је доживљај током и после заласка сунца.
Стара тврђава, која је уједно и симбол града, веома је занимљива грађевина. Саградили су га Византинци у осмом веку ради одбране града. Између тврђаве и града је прокопан канал, па се стиче утисак да је на острву.
У центру града налази се црква Светог Спиридона, чудотворца, заштитника града и острва Крф.
Поред заслуга за одбрану од Турака, Крфљани Светом Спиридону приписују и заслуге за спас острва од куге. У част Светог Спиридона, заштитника града и острва, четири пута годишње се организује литија, а затим се његове мошти разносе по граду у знак захвалности за чудеса која је учинио. Црква је изграђена у венецијанском стилу, а њена купола је највиша тачка града. Унутрашњост цркве је импресивна, са мермерним иконостасом и плафоном са позлаћеним рамом и сликама из живота светитеља.
Град Крф је због своје старине, лепоте и очуваности уведен на списак светске културне баштине УНЕСКО - а.
Град Крф, као и цело острво, имају посебно место у српској историји, као место опоравка српске војске током за њу најтежег раздобља у изгнанству.
