Wow! Not only you can fix the radio and tune to align, you also can polish the covers like shiny gloss. Well done. For this effort, you get a ticket for 2, first class return, flying to the USA and back. Oh, and you can have lots of scotch and steak and etc all inclusive for being a great electronic resurrector. Enjoy, you videos. Catch you soon Baz!
Come on people! 4 more subscribers gets Baz to the 1K. Great vid again Baz, the Kriesler looks really good. You can determine if the interference in your shop is mains related or airborne by testing reception with a battery powered radio. If it's mains related there are suppressor circuits that can be built to really cut down that noise. (That's if your new outside aerial doesn't resolve the issue).
Lol, only 3 subs to go now ! I'm going to spend a couple of days now to narrow down the interference & put up an end fed antenna with unun 9:1 & coax to bench. Should work ok for testing radios & maybe a bit of SW listening. I do have an antenna tuner as well, used to use it in my amateur days.
Geez Baz, that was one very high quality restoration! I never took much notice of this model - most of the ones I've seen have been brown & pretty ordinary looking but this is a very nice looking radio. Great to hear Daddy Cool on 2GZ again! And nearly 1000 subs! You must be doing something right!
Many thanks Don ! Yes it came up very nice, it's in my display cabinet but might break my ties with it & sell one day. Wish I could have played Come Back Again complete but RU-vid mightn't like me any more after that. Good Ol' 2GZ, noe 1089 2EL (Easy Listening) owned by Caralis's (RIP Bill) Super Radio Network. Pretty close to 1000 Don, I truly can't beleive it. Hope I can improve what I show as time goes along, I'm pretty basic in front of that camera, lots of Ummms & Ahhhhs, lol Cheers
@@techobaz55 Hey Baz I wouldn't worry too much about the Ummms & Ahhhs. I think that adds authenticity. It's like a real life experience of what it's like to repair something or restore a radio, rather than an overly edited polished presentation. The "On the bench today" thing is a great idea. I spend far too much time editing. I think if you've got good audio and good camera work so people can see what's going on, that's the main thing. The only small suggestion I have is, when you move the camera to get a better shot, maybe edit out the camera movement and just cut to the new shot? Apart from that I wouldn't change a thing. And please feel free to ignore any / all advice! Cheers
