"That's a throwback!" You know they put that in there for our generation, man. Like how many of us do that in our head every time we hear about Sega?? Brilliant marketing. 😂
Ok, so how many legacy franchises do you want to bring back to life? Sega: yes I'm gonna say it, we are potentially living the Sega renassiance (I hope I wrote that right)
Capcom came back, now it's Sega, and Koei Tecmo getting their footing too. All we need is Square Enix, Konami, and Bandai Namco to get back to their roots
@@Dajovalate to respond by a few months, but they stated Sonic, Yakuza/Like A Dragon, and Persona were the reasons they had enough money to branch out again. PSO was never mentioned, as it makes nowhere near that amount of money
Some more Sega IPs. 1. Nights 2. Virtua fighter 3. Eternal champions 4. Outrun 5. Afterburner 6. E-Swat 7 Sega Rally 8 Daytona USa 9. Space harrier 10. Phantasy Star
Right after this trailer premiered, Katsuhiro Harada, the chief behind the Tekken franchise, immediately wanted to know if Virtua Fighter was part of this. Following the awards show, Washington Post reporter Gene Park got a hold of SEGA's Shuji Utsumi to ask about this. He responded that SEGA is currently "evaluating" a new Virtua Fighter game. With other fighting game IPs out there like Street Fighter and Tekken, SEGA wants the next Virtua Fighter to have something that will help it stand out among its competitors while still retaining what made Virtua Fighter good in the first place. Virtua Fighter is a more realistic fighting game without as many tricks and secret moves like Street Fighter. He confirmed this is something they are currently working on. So this tells me that a new Virtua Fighter is in the initial planning and design phase over at SEGA. They are aware that there are fans of the franchise (including those within the game industry) who would like to see a new entry. So while they didn't have anything for it to show in their Game Awards trailer, I'd say this is something we can expect to see coming down the pipeline for 2025.
Showed this to my dad and he said the same as you, he's getting EVERYTHING! A renaissance era for SEGA would be peak!! Vectorman, NiGHTS, Phantasy Star, Space Channel 5, Ecco, the list goes on! Heheh I still remember "Coffee? Tea? SEGA!"
This was one of the few surprises that really caught me off guard. While my top three reveals from the show are still GOW DLC, Black Myth Wukong release date trailer and the reveal of the next Monster hunter, this is still one big highlight for me at the show as well. Playing these games remade is gonna be a whole experience. 👀👍
Streets of Rage 4 was already released at this time. Now we will be seeing this series in 3d (Nothing new about this 3d attempt, though, as one such attempt by Eidos and Core became Fighting Force).
SEGA and Nintendo have some of the best IPs in the world so I love to see this! Hopefully Nintendo will even help support some of them with a marketing deal maybe.
If we could get a Ghouls n Ghosts remake, Rocket Knight, Gunstar Heroes, maybe even Tetris with some kind of wild twist or Sonic Spinball...I think I'd probably lose it. Sega is sitting on one of the most lucrative gold mines in the entire history of gaming, and I'm beyond overjoyed that they're finally doing something about it. I almost broke down and cried, I have so many core life memories attached to gaming.
Sega just straight punching us in the nostalgia at TGA! Loved it! ...I'd commit some war crimes to get a new, proper, Shining Force game, yo. Just sayin' 🤣
Especially since it seems the mobile game that was being planned seems to be trapped in dev hell. They already have 1 and 2 in the Master Collection, but I want them to start with a release of ALL the Shining Force 3 scenarios in one package since the West only got scenario 1. From there definitely a proper Shining Force RTS. I always meant to get around to Tears X Wind but never found the time. That and it seemed to be a bit of a niche offering with the fans.
Golden Axe? Interesting. With all the updates and re-releases that Taito has been putting out lately, might a Golden Axe update be the final excuse they need to give us an updated Rastan Saga?
I’ve known SEGA was doing SOMETHING with JSR since that leak back in April, but I was worried that they were gonna cancel it like they did their last attempt few attempts to get a new game in the series off the ground. With how well Bomb Rush Cyberfunk has been doing, SEGA better do this right. And let Professor K be playable outside of the GBA and phones for once! As for the “And More”? There are tons of SEGA IPs I never had a chance to try that I would love to explore, but if they bring back NiGHTS into Dreams? My body wouldn’t be able to handle my level of excitement!
it's official... sega needs to make a new console!!! idc if it's called dreamcast xtreme or genesis 2.0- they need to make a new gaming system!!! they do that, and they will have an O.G. lifelong customer!!! they have officially just welcomed the world back to the 90s!!! and i know that i'm late but so WHATTT!!!
HOLY SMOLY!!! So Sega is making a comeback with a new console and I see that there's finally gonna be a new Jet Set Radio game coming along with it! I wonder if that means we'll finally get the next Shenmue game too?
I still have memories of unlocking tons of characters in Jet Set Radio Future and can't wait to go back. Hope they make Shinobi a metroidvania, but I'm concerned about the combat and level design of Golden Axe and Streets of Rage. I noticed Crazy Taxi looks like it's online with the cop car chasing 3 taxis, could be a fun mode.
I get the same feeling about Golden Axe. I want it to succeed so badly, but they've already tried it in 3D and it didn't pan out. You'd think the smart thing to do would be to go back to basics, but idk. Fingers crossed.
@@willpowerrazorblade6436 due we live a world where ea and othere compty do bad stuff that effect a games quality so one of these title going get screw
Oddly I dont feel anything but disappointment seeing this. Everything but what I wanted to see. Def avoiding these games and I dont see Sega living up to their word on anything ever coming. They might as well stayed dead as far as Im concerned
