Krishna Explains Kaliyuga To Pandavas
As per Shrimad Bhagavad on the ninth day of the Mahabharata war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, the third yuga which is the Dwapar Yuga had ended and the last yuga which is the Kali yuga had begun. However, because of the power of lord Krishna, Kali could not spread throughout the earth and was restricted to the battlefields and war grounds. Although the full effect of Kali yuga, started after the demise of Shri Krishna, Krishna knew very well what would Kali Yuga bring along. As per the Uddhava Gita and Shrimad Bhagavatam, Once the four Pandavas Arjuna, Bheema, Nakul and Sahadeva asked Krishna, What is Kali Yuga? ". Krishna smiled and said "Let me demonstrate to you, the situation of Kaliyuga." He took a bow and four arrows and shot them in four directions and ordered the four Pandavas to go and bring them back. Each of the four Pandavas went in the four different directions to search for the arrows.

@@hermosohouse349 i heard this too that Moksha is fastest to attain during Kali Yuga because of the Lord's compassion for our suffering. But problem is our attention and intelligence is lower.. So working in perfecting out attention is crucial so Bhakti and Yoga would be extremely beneficial.

@@arien_000 Thanks for sharing your perspective. Yes I think it could be as simple as having the right mindset in the Kali Yuga. I remember how in the Bhagavad Gita Krishna was saying how you could still be in the world and work vs being a hermit monk in the wilderness and still be in a virtuous state as long as you were in the right mindset offering your work as a sacred duty for goodness without being concerned with the fruit of action. Yet as a contrast to that I have always loved the mindset described in the Ashtavakra Gita. Although the Ashtavakra Gita mindset is much more monk mode and detached from participating in the illusions of the world I still think it holds great insights and power for anyone.

I was just wondering this. How's can the timespan since Kali Yuga began be calculated? Could you share please? My understanding was that the Mahabharata finished just as Kali Yuga started though not sure where I got that info from.

@@lucidity_world The time period of the Kali Yuga is 432000 years. The first 10000 years are it's golden age. It is hard to know the exact time of the beginning of the Kali yuga because it had began when Shri Krishna Paramathma was still on earth but came into effect only after he left as Kali could not influence the world when he was there. It came into effect in India only during the reign of Parikshit. We are still in the golden age of the Kali Yuga so we can assume that we still have more than 422000 years left.

Nonsense! Kaliyuga began much earlier! In the 1st chapter of the 12th book of Srimad Bhagavatam the dynasties after the war of Kurukshetra and their duration are listed. They already amount to more than 4000 years! But then Srimad Bhagavatam 12.1.39 seems to refer to the future (! this gives a date for the writing of Srimad Bhagavatam!) foundation of the Indus-Sarasvati Civilisation because: • the location fits, • the (according to archeologists) egalitarian character of the society of this civilisation fits, • the secular character of this society fits (no temples and neither private nor public places of worshipping were found in the cities of this civilisation), • and the finding of seals with religious depictions related to the Veda, while no temples or places of worshipping were found can only mean that this seals came from an earlier (vedic) era and this fits the description of this civilisation as post-vedic in Srimad Bhagavatam 12.1.39. But the Indus-Sarasvati Civilisation is said to have been founded about 3000 BC and this added to the more than 4000 years of duration of the dynasties after the war of Kurukshetra gives a date of before 7000 BC! Another calculation on the basis of different sources even gives a date of about 9000 BC for this war and the beginning of Kaliyuga. According to the Rigveda and the Mahabharata the Kaliyuga will end when Vishnu has finished his third step through the universe. Meant is the up and down movement of the constellation Orion in the course of precession. The third step (upwards) will end about 2400 CE. Thus the Kaliyuga will roughly last for 12.000 years.

We are basically in the Kaliyuga now in the worst form. But some estimates of when it’ll end doesn’t make sense, like i saw for another some thousands of years. I don’t want to see this planet go through more horrible things and kids being born into starvation, etc. then it makes me think of my purpose on earth at this specific time and i have a feeling i’m here to see it all end or at least get a small look at the conclusion. Or to see this earth become peaceful and reach enlightment among everyone. Because if not any of that, just to pay bill until i die and watch this place burn and get worse is honestly no point to see. I rather see results or very good progress to a goal or a conclusion for the ending

People who follow 'Dharma' will have shorter life span. It's all full circle now why I lost my sister, why the culprit doctor is still alive. God don't want to face their dear ones what is about to come. It's so beautiful to understand whether we're alive our dead, we can still meet Narayna. By simply following Dharma and 4 purushartha.. Moksha is a divine meet of Atma and Parmatma. We can do it by simply embracing our Vedic knowledge, accepting deviya guna like kindness, gratitude, love, compassion, and reject Daitya guna like lust, greed, materialism. At least we can try even 1% every day. Shri Krishna hear what's in our heart not what's in our words.

Liberation can easily be attained in Kali yuga by chanting the holy names of lord krishna. One has to 1000, 10000 years in dwapara, treta yuga. But in less than 100 years one can attain leberation and go to vaikunta loga. People perform severe austerities and yajanas to attain liberation. But in Kali yuga god is more merciful he said to chant the holy names of lord Krishna and one can easily cross the ocean of birth and death. One major benefit of Kali Yuga is, chanting of God’s name and always remembering God itself can get you through the challenges of this yuga.. In earlier yugas , more complex rituals and karma were needed to be done.. In Kaliyuga, it’s simple..

This gave a new point of view to me, if people can attain moksha that is free themselves from the cycle of rebirth and stop taking birth here, and people have continued to gain moksha through all of the four yugas, then it is no wonder that only the ones not worthy of moksha yet would remain at the end, with each yuga being a bit more corrupt in some sense than the previous ones as the 'Good' keep reducing their number in this way... We all think we are 'good' at some point, different from others... to those, to not be mislead in anyway (because it can cause regret and hatred towards self when unable to meet our standards), just see, the fact of you being alive in Kaliyuga... not to discourage, but to know that it would take real effort to do the right thing... the mind always, Always knows what the right thing to do this... the last line said in different words by krishna... Friend, what a pure question! My only conclusion is- KALI YUGA is so awful, that we can more easily detach from this world, chant the name of God sincerely, and are less tempted by its Maya due to all the suffering and disorganization and injustice. We are the stubborn souls, the easily attached ones, we are everyone that is left over who hasn’t become enlightened yet. In my own hometown, four young wealthy athletes, raped a mentally disabled girl. Not only did they rape her, but they abused her with baseball bats and did terrible unspeakable things. When I learned that my fellow human beings had done this, I became so depressed and furious and ashamed of being human. It was as if I could feel, how disappointed God was with our actions. Decades later, I came to know God as pure love and perfection and peace and infinite forgiveness. Sometimes I think, perhaps those four athletes-when they eventually come face-to-face with God, our creator, they will be so ashamed of what they have done, that they will beg to come back and incarnate on this earth and selflessly serve others in order to make amends for their actions. Maybe, just maybe that is how a new age arises after Kali Yuga. A yuga doesn't exist because of time or space being apt for such environment, it's because the time and space is occupied by individuals who have abandoned the mission of humanity and enlightenment through this life we have, like in Isa Upanishad - living 100 yrs is worthless if we don't bide by our karma.. so for Lord to take away the pain of this yuga, we have to be the one to pick up the broken shards of the glass and piece them together with our sanity and devotion..thus will come the yuga that will mirror the peace and prosperity of Sat Yug.

It is said that in Kalyug, it will be easier to impress god, since majority of the humanity are losing their faith. Kalyug is just one era of this world, it represents a dark age, this is the merely the start of kalyug, so it is expected its gonna get worse. Like kalyug there are other era such as the bronze age the golden age, in hinduism there is a belief that halfway of the kalyug measures the end of one cycle, so the next cycle will start from kalyug and go backwards to being the golden age. But by the end of the kalyug, the whole of humanity would be wiped clean (like the dinosaur extinction) , and new life will form, and then repeat the cycle. Until one time where the earth is old, and it will be destroyed.

People practice their religion (sadhana), acquire knowledge about God (gayan), remember and praise God (bhakti, mantras, rosary, zikar,...), serve God's creation (seva, dana, prasad,...),... but God keeps denying them His blessings, denying them even the minimal fruits of their efforts in very worldly matters (e.g. success in career, social advancement,...), humiliating and degrading them as if they are being punished. What is the reason for this? Is it their karma that strikes back (prarabdh)? Is there a solution to this problem?

@@danishm.3417 i get what you mean, look at the end of the day we are single entities in this world almost 8 billion souls, simply asking for god to give you good results, god will not grant you it, without your hardwork. When you pray you must do it in intention to give towards humanity, when you associate your wishes, restricted to your family and needs, its sort of greedy. In that sense karma is mostly, of how you as a person can help the society. If one keeps whining about how they are not getting stuff they want, they’ll keep viewing everything as negative, even with little sparks of gratefulness and gratitude is missed in the process of asking for the bigger fruit. I used to think that too, until i started thinking whatever happens, happens for the good, i will accept my past, i will work hard to earn my place, i don’t need god to bless me with money, i am grateful he gave me an opportunity to live in this world. If you think, you are smaller than a speck of dust, in this universe, you think how lucky you are to experience such a beautiful world, so complex and dynamic. Life is not always good, some people go through rough roads, some are at ease, it’s the way you view things. If you accept your failure, learn from it, and put it into action, you will see results, even if you fail multiple times you are learning, you are gaining experience, god keeps account of all the things. In The law of karma says, their previous live does affect their present life. Cause at the end of the day, you are not the mind or the body, it is your soul that transcends, so in the acts of meditation and bhakti, you can achieve this self-realisation and enlightenment (moksha/nirvana) which is associated with your soul. Awakening of the spirit is what connects you to god, and its said to break the cycle of rebirth. If you break this cycle, you are in an eternal reunion with god.

Krishna preached the inevitability of war ( Mahabharat) against duality of righteous endeavour caused by Kaliyug. He assured victory of the relatively/ comparatively righteous as predestined yet highlighted the transience of victory and defeat for humans. In an earlier avatar as Rama, Sita was dutifully recovered/ freed from captivity , but had to undergo Agni Pariksha as per extant laws. That strength of character was what the mothers, daughters and sisters of Chittorgarh adhered to when confronted by adversity beyond control. Women need to be strong and avoid enslavement and exploitation by evil forces within and outside community.

And the so-called Sad-guru is proclaiming that the Kaliyuga is over? We can see the the first 10,000 year effect only. Dharma is decreasing. Learning of Vedas is stopped. Due to rampant reservations poor Brahmin families are resorting to due manual labor tasks. Due to rampant conversion, the size of Dharma practicing Bharata is constantly decreasing, and we have almost lost West Bengal, Kerala, and Punjab (not to mention we lost Sindh and East Bengal during partition anyways). So-called monks like the Vatican city system and some Indian gurus are extremely corrupt and give in to extreme desires of the world. This is all true, we are only in the Childhood of Kaliyuga. The worst is yet to come.
