Annabeth Schott was a fabulous character and Kristin Chenoweth is an amazing talent. Thank you The West Wing for this combination. If only she had come on sooner.
lol! I have little interest politics, so I didn't really consider watching this show before. But now I'm watching absolutely everything I can find with Kristin in it...including this!
This is kinda West Wing’s thing...some character comes in with a unique take on something the other characters think she or he is dumb...the banter continues...then the reveal. I mean, it works, but they do it a lot..a whole lot.
It's called a reverse, Screenwriting 101 stuff. Gets old quick. William Goldman perfected it - watch the opening of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Tricks are for kids:)
This is quite meta: the "bartender with half a novel" is an allusion to Aaron Sorkin who dated Kristin Chenoweth in real life. (That relationship was the basis for the on and off romance between Matt Albie and Harriet Hayes on Sorkin's 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip'.)
celebrated heads of state and specially great communicators; did they have brains or knowledge? don’t make me laugh! They were popular! please its all about popular
What's more ... Annabeth was right. Toby had potential to good press briefings. And eventually he did. He'd never be as good as CJ Cregg, but he could do the job with Annabeth polishing him up.
I saw annabeth in the title and was like "What does this have to do with Percy Jackson?" But then I saw it and realized a different, unrelated point. Just like annabeth from PJ, people think she's an idiot because she's blonde and pretty, but when she starts talking, she proves she's WAAAAY smarter than you 🤓
When I see depressing creatures With unprepossessing features I remind them on their own behalf To Think Of Celebrated heads of state Or specially great communicators Did they have brains or knowledge On this show they do And a watchable quality Please A watchable quali-i-ty...
