I think she’d be a lot more likely to keep this up if she actually was involved in the redesign process rather than it just being a surprise. It’s much easier to stay organized when you’re guided towards making the choices yourself based on how it functions for you than it is when someone hands you an organized space and says “don’t mess it up!”

I 100% relate with Kristin on the difficulty of getting rid of things and why. It is terrifying and you feel like you are being wasteful. When you don't have a lot, you grow up with this mindset that you must hold on to things because...you might not be able to afford it again. Super proud of you, Kristin. From a fellow Kristen.

For anyone else interested in cleaning up their desk or room or workspace, their first step is the exact wrong thing to do. DO NOT GO SHOPPING FOR EVEN MORE STUFF. Organize, sort into categories and GET RID of stuff. And then experience your space and think IF there's anything missing. Organization is not about organizational *items*, it's about organization.

Kane has a true gift. He really heard what was going on in Kristins life both why she "hoarded" and such. The chair was amazing, to pick up on the bear alarm thing. It really makes you think about your own space (currently yes I feel need to de-hoard things. A work space wherever that is should represent yourself and make you happy to be there. It makes it more inviting for things to get done. I am so happy I watched this video and subscribed to this channel. You can tell they are great friends and they all have been able to enjoy there work at Buzz-feed. Kane did a great job and I agree with M M he really needs his own series. What a way to tap into making people happy and more productive.

The drawer organization is probably the only thing that's actually going to help her. As someone with ADHD, I try to keep on desk decorations to a minimum because they cause a great deal of distraction and block my ability to spread out the books, papers, notebooks, etc that I need to do work

Ok, well now your just starting a whole new thing! Kane does a new buzzfeed personalities desk each week, organising and decorating to each persons personality until Buzzfeed has the most beautiful desk spaces around. You can go through the rest of Ladylike first and then maybe the Try Guys, as they are another team and may need some team storage.
