hi! thanks for the video i drew an hand-made storyboard and scanned them into jpeg formats to import in the storyboard docker, but the problem is that when im trying to add another pic for another scene the previous disappear and the new become first (sorry for the english) but can you help me? how i can import many image and put them in the storyboard docker? thanks
So thankful that you uploaded a tutorial! I'm a university student that can't afford ToonBoom Storyboard to do my work in so Krita is my next best thing! Thanks so much for going through all the aspects of the storyboard docker and how to use it alongside of the animation timeline, so so helpful.
Hello, 5 months after you wrote that comment, I wanna ask you, how has Krita been working for you as a substitute for ToonBoom Storyboard Pro so far???
Wow! All I can say is Wow. This is the perfect tool to layout my graphic novel. Super explanation and description of how to use this docker. Thank you.
This tutorial helped me a ton. I didn't even know that there were various dockers to choose from! I'm planning out a storyboard for an animation I want to do, and this video taught me the basics with ease. Thanks!
Didn't even get to the part of the video that had the info I was originally looking for (re-ordering boards); had to stop, like, subscribe, save to playlist, because I didn't know you could change the name of "comments" or add more boxes (such as "dialogue"). Amazing, thank you! Krita is kind of an addiction and you have made my addiction more pleasurable :)
Thanks so much for this tutorial, I was reading the manual about story boarding, but still couldn't work out how to get started, thank you for making it clear! :-)
this is very helpful! can ask a question? if you were to have a fil with diff drawings, is there a shortcut that can distribute each of those drawings to diff storyboard scenes instead of just, manually pasting them?
Congratulations!, novel review for this new krita feature. Where can I found more info about this new feature? Maybe this is the only one analysis in RU-vid?
Honestly I haven't seen another video about this docker. I did try extensively to find one. You can however look at their manual: docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/dockers/storyboard_docker.html Hope that helps :)
I'm late, as per my usual... or perhaps I arrived precisely as I was meant to. Either way this is DOPE! This will be perfect for when I make my stop motions and other cool stuff. Another great video my friend (also, if I were to send you drawings, how would I go about doing it.)
@@JustCallMeInsane EXCELLENT!!! mwahhahahaha! I'll be sure to keep you on your toes... >:) (not at all creepy, I can be so random sometimes lol) Seriously though thanks. :)
It seems so intriguing. But... If only it was set up to work with separate .kra files... What I mean is. To be very useful to me, each shot in the storyboard would be its own .kra file with its own animation. That way, I could outline the story in the storyboard. Work on each shot on their own. And play them back in the storyboard order. Another crucial bit would be that I can export each as their own file or sequence and layers ti then be worked on in an NLE. Also. If they are on separate files, you would be able to keep a hero frame in the storyboard while doing breakdown and inbetween work without the storyboard balooning with hundreds of "scenes" within each shot. As it is right now. With everything being in one .kra file, it seems like a good idea with short sighted implementation. And if some real magic happens it could even be synced with the NLE through an EDL. So the storyboard and timings would be updated with changes made in the NLE. Basically. I'd like the Storyboard to be more like an EDL. :)
By panels do you mean the boards or the dockers? If you have the storyboard docker selected, you can use the arrow keys to move through the boards easily :)
I believe so. If you switch to the animation workspace, you'll see that there's keyframes that match your storyboard docker. It may not be timed properly, but it can be adjusted :)
Is there a way to make it so the storyboard pics retain their quality when exporting it as a pdf? REALLY not a fan of how the pics take a noticeable drop in resolution.
Help: i started a storyboard in krita but it's not seperating the scenes. Whatever i draw on one scene still pops up on the other scenes. Does anyone know how to fix this or what's going on?
Add a new board first. You can also check your animation timeline docker and see if you may have accidentally converted the boards to an animation or triggered that - it uses the same system for boards. One board=1 frame. Onion skinning might also be on, but it shouldn't affect it.
I just wanted to let you know that I saw your thumbnail with comic sans and decided not to watch your video. They teach in design school that using that font is a cardinal sin. Sorry for being this way. I can't help it.
Is there a way to export the storyboard without doing frame-by-frame? I am doing my first-ever storyboard for an indie animation so I don't want to screw this up 🥲
When you export via the storyboard docker, you have some options to choose from. You can change the board layout to columns, rows, etc, as well as page orientation. :) So 6 boards can be viewed on one page which is standard in my experience.
