Krita | Making A Gif From an Image Sequence

This video covers how to make a gif using Krita, although it assumes you already have an image sequence, it does also briefly cover how you'd go about using the Animation Timeline to paint each sequential image, as well as how to export a file if you want to use each individual layer as it's own image.

When I went to test my animation it added a lot of blank key frames that weren't part of my animation, and I can't figure out how to get rid of them or what to do. Why doesn't it just make key frames from the layers I have? Why did it add like, 50 blank key frames. It makes my animation just stop right in the middle for like, 3 or 4 seconds before looping back around.
