For those of you with the same problem as me, where it takes a few seconds for any line to start being drawn when you intially put your pen to your tablet but then works fine as long as you don't lift it again, the solution for me was to do the following: 1. Go to Settings > Configure Krita 2. Go to "Tablet Settings" 3. Change table input mode to "Windows 8+ pointer input" 4. Restart Krita
Thank you! i've been using Krita for years. Suddenly the brush become lag. (apparently it's the stabilizer in the tool option) Change to basic/weighted did the trick for me.
I'm so upset I've tried everything in this video and even restarted my laptop and it's STILL not working. I've gotten it to work before so why isn't it letting me draw normally???
for someone who dont know in display settings. its depends what gpu you have for example i have rx 5600 xt and if im correct it supports are openGL 4.6 and directX 12 so 11 can work worse than openGL. so even if you have for example gtx 550 then directX 11 can work better. its just matter of your gpu and changing to openGL helped me so thanks
Thanks, switching to OpenGL helped. I have nvidia rtx 3060. At first when I switched to OpenGL I lost pressure sensitivity so I thought it's not working. But then I also tweaked some settings in "Tablet settings". I think choosing "Windows 8+ Pointer Input (Windows Ink)" in "Tablet input API" did the trick. Now it's fast. Hopefully there will be no bugs. It wasn't bad previously but I knew my hardware should be able to render faster as clip studio paint was faster. Adding notes: If I close Krita in full screen mode and open it shows only balck screen. Using alt+tab to switch windows and then turning full screen mode on and off fixes it.
my problem is that when i go to draw a circle it only registers that i drew it like 2 seconds later. then the brush shoots down to where i have drawn to which creates a line. it basically only happens here
Interesting, I've never encountered any problems like that, some things to check/do are; If you're using a tablet, make sure your other hand isn't resting on it. You can also try reinstalling Krita, or your tablet drivers. I did a bit of research and found that if you have a UGEE tablet, the drivers for those tablets are apparently terrible, so you could try either making sure they are updated or if they are up to date, using older versions. I should also probably ask, does this happen when drawing with the mouse?
Try tablet setting, in configure setting, there is 2 option, try change it to another one maybe can help, fyi after change you need restart the program to get the effect
Thank you so much, you're a life saver ❤ I'm starting with digital so I was blaming ubuntu and the tablet drivers but in the end it was that crappy tool option
well, for me none of the option worked. my problem arose two days ago, when a...line began to appear as I drew, from the tip of the pen, obliquely, down or up. Then apeeared a serious delay, and I can't work anymore, for example,if I try to draw a circle,it....will eventually draw a kind of a tiny circle....so it doesn't follow my shape. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the tablet, drivers, krita, everything I saw on the net. including a new tip. nothing! (xp-pen)
Does this happen on other drawing programs as well? You could download another free one and test it out, and if still happens then you'll know it's not Krita but something else, and if it doesn't happen then you know it is a problem with Krita. Which should narrow down the possibilities.
Unfortunately, I'm having a similar problem with Krita not registering the first half a second to a second of drawing with my XP pen tablet, clip Studio it's instant, only happens with Krita, my desktop is pretty beefy, so I doubt it's a hardware/resources issue. I've tried all of the possible fixes and none worked, oh well, I'll give Krita another try in a few updates and I'll stick to clip studio for now.
Hi, I having the lag issue when do the painting, I tried disable the canvas it did help a bit but still not very big improvement. It is very weird that I'm previously using I3 10100f + rx 570 8gb don't have this issue, then now I upgraded my gpu to 3070 I got this issue.... Any advice, or I need to format my pc to solve this problem? Thank you
Hahaha i did not know this and ended up taking 1 month to finish my painting. It was the first time i made something in Krita too so i thought i just had to Deal with it lmao
I've been searching for answers to that common lag problem, and you had them. Thank you. 16 bit float however made things worse for me. My problems were fixed before I got to that part, so I changed it back to 8 bit.
Yeah, I wasn't sure if changing it to 8bit would help but the Krita Manual suggested it so I thought I might as well include it. Thanks for letting me know, you pretty much confirmed my suspicions that it would make it worse for most people since I'm pretty sure the standard is set to 8bit which is the lowest/standard color depth. I'm glad the video helped!
you're an angel, thought the new tablet i bought was crap, but no its just krita being weird, chaning the rendered to opengl worked. Weirdly enough my hardware is more than plenty to run krita :p but thanks nonetheless
Thank to this video, now i know why the pen kinda laggy. But now my others problem is eraser🤔 anyone an tell how to make eraser not erase the white background, just pen instead? And how do i see where's the layer
Layers on the the right. And if the eraser is erasing the white background, exposing a grey checkerboard pattern, then that means you were drawing on the base layer which is advised not to do in order to protect the white background. Always start on layer 1. And you can change the color of the eraser after equipping it and going to the color wheel.
I was wondering what brush you used to get the brush mark on the thumbnail. Wow, a Krita video with a click bait thumbnail? Out of principle, thumbs down.
when they create these programs it needs to be user friendly so many buttons its frustrating it takes joy out of creativity thats why i hate digital painting
It looks the same, but from my understanding parallax on a screen tablet is from incorrect calibration, i.e your pen being in one area and the tablet thinking it's being touched slightly to the side of where your pen is actually touching. Or just the hardware of the tablet not being able to keep up with the speed of your strokes. While stabilization in Krita is an intentional delay used to smooth out your strokes.
