Krizalid was the most difficult out of the KOF bosses cause he literally has every move for situation. His “TYPHOON RAGE!” deflects projectiles, has range and can clip you if you jump. Has a normal anti air. That move where he lifts you up with his leg is a counter, command grab and an overhead. And then there are his ultimate moves that just deletes like 2/3 pf your health. Even the director of KOF has stated "We've might've went a bit overboard with this games boss." lol
This was the last KOF I played religiously as a kid. The increase in fighters from 3 to 4 was amazing. And the assists were fun. The more tech plot was kinda weird, since the older plots were more fantasy/mystic related. But K’ is a cool protagonist. I was also frustrated when Iori was omitted and later found a code for him haha. Nice job!
Finnaly, you get to KOF 99'! I have a very special place in my heart for this game, as it was my beginning of my own KOF experience. It only gets more fun from here in terms of game play. The lore is slightly convoluted, but it all boils down to K' being a normal person that was kidnapped and imbued with Kyos flame abilities and the NEST organization trying to take over the world through combat abilities and clones. K' resists his NESTS planned fate and goes against the organization that made him out of spite. I am excited for your 2000 run, as it introduces even more new characters and continues the crazy story, including kula, that "anti K'" to the story. Happy to see you continue the series and am glad that you are enjoying the games so far! Note on K' : he has some abilities not noted in the move list, his fireball and dragon punch have follow-ups that involve an extra input (fireball with forward b or d and dragon punch with forward d) that make his fireball a 50/50. His fireball can be either thrown at the enemy with forward b, or can be throw upward woth forward d for a air counter with the initial A/C being the intensity, also that can be followed up with his specials if the timing and distance is right. It takes a bit to master, but he has some awesome tools, with 2001 being his best as he can do a double kick with his quarter circle back B/D and end it with a low sweep. His sunglasses during his secondary special act as a projectile, meaning it cancels out an enemy's with his followup elbow being the initial start of his combo. K' is well worth putting some time into, as he eventually becomes an absolute S tier character later in the series
This was my very first KOF game. I remember spending countless hours playing this on the Dreamcast! I absolutely love it and still play it quite a bit.
The stage belongs to K' now. Also, KOF 99 and 2000 has the best soundtracks in KOF franchise. Like you mentioned, stages are on fire too. Excited for 2000 gameplay already. Keep going!
One thing that make Typhoon Rage even more messed up (Krizalid's projectile) is that fact that if you block it, it give Kirzalid a lot of meter. Pretty much if you get hit or block it, he gets something out of it compare to other projectiles
14:00 I forgot to mention that before. It's a guard break blowback, it costs 1 bar and you just press C+D while blocking. You can perform a guard cancel roll (forward and backward) as well by pressing A+B and a direction
KOF 99 art style is my favorite one, love K' but Kyo is Kyo man, this Kyo NESTS version is my favorite bro too drip. You play with my trio in this video btw (K',Kyo,Iori)
This game is cracked!!! Oh my god! Like everything about this game Is slay! The crow outfit was fire! That claw! Also: It's always psycho soldier thats the hardest! Bao I feel is a weaker version of Athena. But yeah can't wait for kof 2000!
This was the first KOF game I bought for home usage I’d played 2001 at the local Golfland and liked it, and ‘99 was at Game Crazy for cheap. “TORNADU!” still echoes in my mind from time to time.
NESTS abducted K' and Whip(siblings) to experiment on them. K'(real name unknown) was imbuded with Kyo's DNA to aquire his fire powers. However his body can't control it and he was given a red glove to control it. Whip was created from the corpse of Seirah's body. Krizalid is a clone created from K' and Kyo's DNA.
@@Onscreenmoon Every canon entry has a story. Krizalid was talking to Whip at the end. He thought that she was his brother but, found out that he was a clone of K' and Kyo. He was shocked to find out that he was a clone and after he died. Whip said goodbye. She was crying at the end of the Ikari warriors ending. The english translation makes her sound mean which doesn't sound right.
@@Onscreenmoon I reccomend Neogeonow. Mainly because he contacts the company more and tries to get the most accurate lore and history on the company. Also Shoryugame. Both youtube channels specialize on KOF and SNK related games and content.
@@Onscreenmoon I use to go through at least 2 of those cheap mayflash Amazon sticks a year but it's probably wiser to invest in a quality stick from the start.
@@davidtran9444 yeah, I have a qanba stick so it’s decent quality. It’s just a bit heavy and I don’t like the parts they used to make it (silent push buttons)
1)7:35 This arena is awesome. It changes from sunny weather to rainy with beutiful effects of rain. 2) There is some unique changes. Yuri become parody of Ryu with donkey kick, tatsu and double shoryuken. For some strange reason Robert changed from shoto to charge character aka Guile style. Ralf and Clark now more distinct with each chapter. Ralf is aggresive power character while Clark is grappler with many unique throws. Kensou lost his psycho powers by lore reasons and now use more melee attacks 3) Yes, now Kyo have new drip and it look awesome. He laso have new tricks and more of his specials have some kind of armor 4) Whip really like to scream when she does this special 7:40. It's very annoying to ears
Yo Andrew, I've been loving those videos. KOF lore is very good, there are a lot of videos about it, I would love to see a react video of you, to see your thoughts and opinions, but I don't know if you like making videos like that
Great game. As always. Kof '99 & Tekken Tag Tournament turned 25 years (1999-2024). Anyways, I played this game on my phone at Level 2 but still can't beat krizalid. Krizalid is a pain to beat. But you did it finally. Meet You in K.O.F 2000. I hope you beat Sub-Boss "Kula Diamond" & Boss "Zero" who killed Krizalid.
Krizalid’s 2nd theme is called “My Dear Fallen Angel”. Look it up sometime. The arranged version in particular might be one of the best final boss themes of all time
I play this game from a long time but didn't know the glasses go through Krizalid's Typhoon Rage! It got me surprised lol KoF 2000 has the best presentation of all series! seriously, that game is beautiful, you will see! I think you will like it as much as 99 lol Keep it going!
The boss in the bext game is suppose to be a little easier? Buy the "ACA Neo Geo" version of KOF 2000. I don't reccomend the ps2 port thats on ps4. It has more input lag and it feels worse. The original ps2 games are pretty good but, the ps4 makes them worse.
I see why you are struggling with inputs. The ps5 controller isn't good especially for fighters. My friend has it and I don't like the d-pad and analog sticks
