@@Asharpspoon To put it into context, the implied "Sweet Release" is death. The dark connotation with the painting is that Sponge Bob, a sponge which is suppose to be able to survive and even regrow his limbs, saw death as a better choice, I.e. implying that he's nothing but a vegetable at that point. As you can see, you can paint that as a very grim picture indeed. Or that he's just damn too tired and not willing to regrow his limbs to go to the toilet and take a leak, he's surrounded by a puddle in that painting, so that "Sweet Release" can also mean he's just pissing on himself... God That's still dark. How many layers of darkness does Mumei operate?!?

Lest we forget, civilization was built on a mountain of corpses slain in countless conflicts across the world, for countless reasons over the last few thousand years. Mumei wearing a cloak and dagger, with the cloak being a cloak of sin, seems to be some pretty on-the-nose symbolism rather than coincidence. We can't say we weren't warned.

The thing is, I don't think Mumei truly is a sadist. I think Mumei is Mumei. Who she is is impossible to truly describe. One minute she eats chicken in front of a chicken, the next she scolds Kronii for doing that exact thing. I don't think anyone can truly comprehend why Mumei does what she does. Mumei is just Mumei. The only way to describe Mumei accurately is Mumei is Mumei. And she's cute, that's accurate too.

I know that everyone's made the relation that Mumei is EN's Ayame, but honestly she might also have bits of Korone in that she's surprisingly dark in tone at times while still being lively and fun. And as an X-Potato I am looking forward to more stuff like that. I already love the cuteness that Mumei just is at default but I wanna see more of the stuff she does that's "weird".

Despite appearances Ayame also has a vicious side to her. There's a clip of her talking about how she fought with her dad one time, (who is a big man according to her) and threw her father down. (look up 'Ayame fought with her dad' if you want lol it worked somehow) Mumei imo resembles Luna and Ayame, (Luna using her cuteness to troll people hard and Ayame with her airheadedness and occasional violence) but yeah there's a resemblance with Korone too.

At this point I'm totally sure that Mumei's snap is gonna be way harder than Haachama's. And the best part is that all is very accorded to her lore, she's Civilization and Civilization is always conflicted with it's duality, human civilization is capable of creating great things and achieve almost anything no matter if that was think to be impossible years before. But in the other hand, civilizations can also be chaotic, evil and bloodthirsty, capable of doing horrible things and justifies those things for centuries with no realisation of it's mistakes. But at the end of the day we can be sure of something: Mumei is cute AF and deserves a lot of headpats
