I am now Rockin' a pair of Daytona Road Star GTX Boots and they are absolutely fantastic in all ways! They provide top notch ankle, heel and shin protection along with just enough arch support to be comfortable to walk in. They also feature Goretex so they are waterproof yet breath. They are German made, look nice and easy to get in and out of and can be tailored somewhat for better fit if you have large calves due to velcro adjustment. Build quality is as good as it gets with very high quality leather and sole that has the right amount of grip in all conditions including in the wet. Can't recommend these boots highly enough. Try em' you might just love em'! And no I'm not sponsored by Daytona in any way... just very passionate about them!

Agree 100% with you Mr Skeptical! But I have a feeling Daytona’s are too much money for Cruiseman’s taste.

May well have a look as I am now needing new boots. My 2018 goldwing tour has been written off due to a ‘smdsy’ (or if you are not familiar with the acronym it is “sorry mate didn’t see you”) road traffic accident. Driver of a car rammed the front of the GW, he was coming out of a junction onto the main road really hit the GW hard as it completely twisted the front end. Good news is that I am only slightly injured, swollen left knee and ankle. Keep safe out there.

@@roballen6351 glad you weren’t seriously injured. I only ride as if nobody can see me and I’m super paranoid about being hit since my brother has been in two serious accidents and I’ve lost a few friends to riding. Although I stopped riding for several years, I’m back on my r1 and am just super cautious around other vehicles. Hope everyone has fun and ride safe

Wow - the average price for my touring boots is $ 600 . Nice review ,I always check for ankle protection/ rear & side reflective strips as well as good toe protection. Basically a well constructed boot - when it comes too riding/ safety gear I always rather spend more on quality well made/ designed riding equipment than buy either cheaper replica’s or inferior quality. On long rides it is not uncommon to encounter various riding conditions and I hate been caught out with leaky inferior gear. Chris stay safe and stay upright my friend.

I am going to have to buy a pair of these boots. I will have to see what you see in them. After riding since 1972 and logging 100,000 plus miles. Have never had as much a stubbed toe. Seems like a lot of overkill these days. I am all for safety so I will have to see if they are as comfortable as the Red Wing shoes I currently wear. I ride for enjoyment and it seems like being bundled up like the Michelin man takes a lot of that away. I think it may be detouring a lot of young people from riding. They simply cant afford all the fancy high end comfort that we can. Don't take this as negative. No one wears all the safety. Each person has to decide how far they want to go!

I haven't found a true motorcycle boot that was comfortable to walk in and I've tried many. I'm now using an 8 inch Tactical Boot that may be the most comfortable footwear I've ever had on and they work great on my Goldwing. They are not expensive so if I have to change them once a year, so what. Non slip soles, side zipper for easy on and off. Win!

I use tactical boots also, after wearing them for 3 years at work, then 3 years on the bike. When I buy new work boots, rotate the tactical to the bike, old bike becomes my lawn working boots. Plus to them is the comfort of walking and hiking. Waterproof.

Try danner boots the are super comfy ! I have worn them riding and marching in the military! Quick question does any one really wear steel toe boots riding? I mean how often are others falling off or crashing that they need that level of boot on a bike. Might want to just stick to a car at that point.

I’ve had a pair of Cruiserworks Classics for 30 years. Never got wet in them, and you can walk pretty well with these. I just recently purchased a pair of Indie Ridge MC boots. Super comfortable, protective, and waterproof. Check out Cyclefanatix and get a 10% discount.

Today, before my weekly Wednesday ride, I put on my Gasolina brand boots but I could not get my left boot on thanks to the swelling caused by my broken fibula from a crash 3 months ago. Last week the surgeon who put it back together with titanium plates and screws said the swelling is normal and will remain for several more months. So, plan B was to find my old Tourmaster boots to see if they would fit. They easily slipped on but like the Gasolina's I could not close the zippers. Well, not a problem because the Velcro tongue on the Tourmaster boots closed fine even though the zippers did not. The "Hipora" labeled Tourmasters look almost identical to Cruiseman's Solutions. So, for the next few months it will be Tourmaster for me. Nice to have a backup. I wear size 14 but could not find the Kronox bigger than 12, bummer. Love the price.

I have Tourmaster that aren't quite as tall. They are very comfortable and I like them a lot. I do agree the sole could be grippier. But mine are not as slick as you described yours. Mine are ok, but not as sticky as say a running shoe. I have an issue with velcro on boots. The rough side of the velcro shreds the inside of my Gerbings pants. I also have another pair of insulated pants and they are shredded too from velcro. Thanks for the great video reviews.

I have Dainese Torque GoreTex boots. I don't think the newer models have GoreTex and have a metal toe protector. I have ridden 300 mi in heavy rain and my feet stayed dry. One feature that I prefer over the Torumaster or Kronox is the zipper is on the rear of the boot. Once you adjust the Velcro for proper calf size, it never needs to be touched.

Slippery boots are no fun. I have found the traditional square toe harness style biker boots to offer good protection as well as being comfortable on and off the bike, although it should be noted that this style of boot only work well for cruiser bikes. Currently I am wearing Xelement boots and I have found them to wear exceptionally well and have great grip on slippery surfaces. Another thing I appreciate is that the style I have comes in half sizes and wide sizes so I can get a boot that fits well as compared to getting a boot that I can "make work". Getting a good insole is the last piece in having good fitting and comfortable boots.

The problem with cheap boots is just that..they are cheap...and they just don't last..they start leaking in the rain when they don't look like they should and nothing worst on a road trip than having wet feet... and once wet on the inside, boots don't dry out while your on a road trip and your riding for days with wet feet...that's my experience with a few road trips with cheap motorcycle boots and why I only buy high end riding gear with Gore Tex...your never wet with Gore Tex gear...you get what you pay for.

Touring boots are not my style. Although not designed for riding, I prefer a pair of good ol’e heavy leather cowboy boots. (Currently using Tecova’s “The Stockton” see my video review) On the flip side, besides a closet full of other boots, gloves and helmets, if not wearing my Tecova’s, I will wear a pair of Bates tactical water resistant motorcycle boots that I don’t think Bates produces anymore.

I like when you review products. You are fair in pointing out all the positives and negatives. I am hoping you can broach a topic that can also be classified as the dark side. Ordering helmets from the EU can save several hundred dollars. Many helmets sold in the EU are ECE 22.06 certified but not DOT certified. ECE certifications are generally more stringent than DOT. Even skin lids can get a DOT certificate. It is illegal to wear a helmet in the US that isn't DOT certified. This is strange because many states don't even require wearing a helmet. I would never be concerned about a citation from a police officer but, I wonder if insurance claims can be denied after a crash it the helmet is not DOT certified. I have been wearing a Schuberth C4 Pro Carbon modular helmet. with the integrated Sena SC1 communication system. Purchase of this helmet with the SC1 in the USA would be over $1000. You are also not allowed to wear a helmet in the EU that is only DOT certified. Another issue is only DOT helmets can be repaired in the USA. ECE helmets must be sent to the EU for repair if the helmet is not DOT certified.

I know this is about boots, but I have a question on the HJC helmet you wear. Helmets are getting hard to find and I'm in the market for a new one. If you had to buy a new one, would you buy HJC again? Which modular model?
