I would have loved to see how you served them - what you put inside. I also would love to see how you ended up using your tortillas with what fillings! You are a really great cook! All Grandma's are! I sure miss mine now going on 12 years. I love everything from scratch. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm very grateful for you to take the time to share apart of your life not many women got to share or enjoy with their Mothers or Grandmothers. I love seeing how other people do things.

I couldn't show you how I filled them. We ate them all LOL They are so delicious, light & crispy & just slightly sweet I tried frying the tortilla & make tostados, they didn't turn out very good. Kind of tough, so hoping someone with lots of corn tortilla experience will know what I did wrong

What is it about you that makes me want to cook.... you are just so delightful! I would love to spend the day with you learning to cook, and watching Judge Judy. lol! I will never forget looking for her book "Don't Pee On My Leg and Tell Me It's Raining". The lady at the book store said "I beg your pardon" when I gave her the title of the book I was looking for. It was a very good book! Now if you could just pass the plate I could get rid of my craving for krumkake. Hugs...

Those look good Barb. From what I have seen of cannolis those look a lot like them. Heck they would be good flat too. Some strawberries, whip topping and maybe a drizzle of chocolate or nutella. Yummy! Ok have to quit as I am making myself hungry. Another question for you are these about like crepes? I know those are softer and dont really harden. Thanks for yummy video.

Those look so good. It reminds me of the gadget my mom had when I was a kid. She had this thing that sat on the burner and you could put 4 potatoes on it and it would bake them and boy did that do a great job and the skin on the potato was nice and crispy. Love your videos.

@@theoldfarmerswife5915 I remember my mom using it and it had a metal base with 4 prongs that stood straight up and she would place the potatoes on each prong. Good morning Those look good Anyway With the cannolis You have to deep fry them with the tube But I bet if you add a little bit More better make him thicker And roll'em Over a PVC pipe You could probably fill with Cannoli Filling Have the old farmer Cut you some one inch Round PVC pipe About 6 inches long Then when you take the cookie out of the Maker You can roll start on one end and roll to the other let them sit Harden and then take the tube out .👍😁 Now you got me thinking about coming up with a KETO Cannoli dough And filling Thanks As I always say Stay safe Stay strong Ho Ho Ho Go KETO Chef 🎅🥩🍳🥑🥓
@theoldfarmerswife5915
@theoldfarmerswife5915 5 лет назад
Are those the same ingredients as in cannolis? I knew they were thicker. I've only heard/seen them on Cake Boss & have wanted to try one, ever since I saw them LOL I bet you could do a Keto version. Honestly, I bet just almond flour, eggs & almond flavoring would do the trick. Then just use whipped cream for the filling.

@@theoldfarmerswife5915 The cannoli cream Is made with ricotta cheese, Powdered sugar, Couple drops of vanilla , Little bit of cinnamon ,Lemon zest, Little bit sweet marsala wine .The shelf for the cannolis They have a lot of different recipes But it's the one that you roll Out And put around the Metal tubes And deep fry till Brown And then as soon as you take him out of the oil You have to take the tube out If not it'll stick To the tube Then you let them cool Do not put in the refrigerator Store your shells In a plastic bin In your cupboard When you put them ln the refrigerator They will Go Soft.Fill them just before you serve them So they stay crispy Enjoy You'll have to look up The dough recipe on Google I can't remember My recipe and I don't have it written . Secret is Make sure you're filling Is cold And stiff creamy Use a pastry bag to fill The tubes Or you can use a spoon The bag is easier . By the way you could add some chop Chocolate chips Or the mini chocolate chips Into the filling And then after filling the tubes Dip the ends of the cannoli Into More chocolate chips And then dust with powdered sugar . My grandmother Used to take And fine chop pistachio nuts & Toasted Pine Nuts To garnish the ends of the cannoli Also .

Hi. I think your krumkaker looks great, but they should have been lighter if they were to be perfect. I use an electrical iron, it's easier than the one you have but I don't know if you can get it where you live. Here in Norway you can get them pretty much everywhere they sell electrical devices for kitchen and they also have different pattern on them depending on the region they're from. My great granmother was a baker and my granmother told me they should be as thin as paper and very light, but I think it had to do with they selling them at the bakery and if they burned the cakes they didn't earn any money so they had to be as light as possible without being raw. My granmothers krumkaker was looking very light and thin and they tasted so good to. I really miss her and her cakes very much. She passed away in 2008 though so it has been years since I had any.

A reason to pull out the construction paper! Make several cones in case one or two go south and use them to wrap the cookies. That looked fairly easy. I might have to buy a krumkake iron. ***Just now found the exact same iron on Amazon for $53.00 and free shipping. I'm considering it! Problem is, I don't need all that sweet stuff! And there's nobody here to eat them but me!

You can put each soft plate into a mug and let it shape there. It forms a "krumkake bowl" that can be filled with cream. Mostly cloud bery cream in Norway. Add some brown sugar on top. Tastes wonderful. But all sorts of cream goes. Strawberry, raspberry etc. How ever, orange flavor won't do.

Hello Barb,LOL well do I tell you or do I Just like you say shut up.Lol okay I'll tell you. Hubby Mother made these Christmas and Easter and her one and only Child's (son) Birthday. So Hubby was well # 1. And on Hubby oh and her B Day we would go home to the farm, there would be all this cooking and baking going on. I would hope to see her making something. No not a chance , but got to clean up the kitchen. Which in my eyes was cool because you could see what she used to do things. So I seen this pile of corn stocks maybe five or six peace Oh about four inches long. I thought Dad had brought them in to start the fire in the kitchen stove. In one breath, I open the door of the wood stove and they were gone. And as they it the fire Mother was hollering and Hubby and his Dad where laughing and I was in hot water again (trouble). That is what she wrapped the cookies around. Hours later we all were laughing. What are you going to fill them with? Till next time. Journey on
