Thank you for this video. I have a Krups ea 8441 (same piston). It’s making fine espresso, but when I make ordinary coffee the water is leaking outside the piston. I have replaced the o-rings but that didn’t help. Now I am thinking about maybe replacing the piston. Do you think that could solve the problem?
The piston has an un-replaceable high-pressure rubber valve under it’s metal cap. I guess in your case espresso was working and simple coffee was not, because espresso is made at a higher pressure and the valve was still letting the coffee through. In my case the rubber valve was very used-up, it crumbled into small pieces under touch, though the o-rings were still fine. The solution was to replace the piston. While waiting for the piston to arrive, I made a small hole in the valve. The coffee was bad, with coffee dust, but drinkable. The liquid-collector started also collecting a part of the dry dust in it.
I have a Krups EA81 and replaced the old piston with new one. The old one looked melted at the sealing ring and o-rings. However, machine flashes all LED, like before the replacement. Any solutions for this?
My Krups EA800 sometimes leaks from below the machine from that little hole, started after a did a traditional cleaning .... it is not always leaking, but sometimes. Is that a piston problem? Or if not, what would be your guess? Great video btw.
Hello Jon, same happened with me. It is not really a big deal, the coffee moves down the nozzle by coherence, if you check the coffee despensing nozzle you will find it is not a tube, it is a channel with one open end! Not sure why, and the coffee flows attached to this channel and into the cup.. probably. After cleaning I found the fluid not able to follow the tube and flows next to the body of the machine, and of course into one of the draining channels which leads into the drawer or in this case next to it. Please clean the nozzle by dipping in into a cup of vinegar for a while and make sure the coffee flows through both openings. And thanks for your kind words
@@khaledhelal6688 Interesting. I will give it a try. I did pull the coffee drip-nozzle down too far while cleaning it, so it makes sense something perhaps didn't align properly back up. Thank you so much for taking the time. I love this machine. :)
Jon Therkildsen The leaking from that hole is extremely bad. In my case it was because of the piston. The o-rings seemed fine, a little used-up, but far from torn. The piston has, as I presume, a high-pressure rubber valve under the round metal mesh, which leads to the tube towards the nozzle. So this valve stopped working because it was worn-out. When I touched it, it crumbled, like a piece of rubber after many cycles of applying high pressure and high temperature to it. Kind of like wheel rubber after burn-out. So, because the valve stopped working and passing the pressured coffee, it rendered the machine continuously thinking that it required cleaning, and the piston’s o-rings passed on the liquid by it’s sides. This liquid was drowning down in the machine’s body through the whole under the liquid collector and in the dry collector compartment. The liquid may harm the un-sealed electronics. The solution was to replace the whole piston, because the valve is un-replaceable.
Hello Abdull, it is available on Amazon, but unfortunately I can not share comments with links! The provider name is Bremen-Haushalt try to look for it on Amazon.de , there is also replacement gaskets or rubber rings only, much cheaper if the piston body is is good condition it is more than enough to replace only the rubber o-rings. Good luck
@@maxsolo2652 Hello Suman, yes sure, 1-press the "prog" button ,2-use the machine main knob to scroll down to "machine info", you have coffee cycles, water cycles, steam cycles.... Everything
Khaled Helal My machine does not have a display :) I guess it’s the cheaper model. It cost around 180euro at a sale. I guess, in my case, I can just estimate around 2 double ristrettos per day for like 900 days, resulting in 3600 cycles.
@@khaledhelal6688 hello friend! Where did you buy the piston? What's the name of the thing you put on the piston? I live in Korea. Will there be a piston? i need it!
@@khaledhelal6688 I have already ordered on Alliexkspres, 46-36-3.5 according to the product comments this is an ok dimension for that model. I hope it's okay
