KRYSTIAN ZIMERMAN plays BRAHMS Variations Op.18 (1982) 

This is becoming my favorite performance of this amazing piece. Crushingly beautiful.

Everything he touches becomes a jewl, unbelievable.

Pure ecstasy, Brahms in paradise !

Zimmerman exemplifies his extraordinary and perhaps unique delicacy of touch in this performance...his ability to nuance almost defies belief. Magnificent. I much prefer this piano version (Brahms own) from the String Sextet Op.18, to the original.

Plus j'ecoute Zimerman ,plus je suis convaincu qu'il est le géant du piano qui remplace les Gilels, Richter etc...

Just as inspirational and exquisite as the original piano trio, Op. 18. Clearly, Brahms could and did write some of the most beautiful melodies around. (As for 'abstract'music, je is one of the three greatest composers ever!)

WHY on Earth this wonderful recording was never released!
