That wheel looked like you lent it to Fantomas for a weekend 😡. Great repair 👍 Hope you didn't get put out too much coin. Thx for sharing that unfortunate repair with us. Cheers
Thanks for sharing Vee, it's really great to be able to see your process here on the restoration, the color work and the internals of the 18L. I imagine restoring this to gold gave you a great amount of pride, keep it up :)
Thank you for supporting the channel, sharing with me your take on the situation and the boost in my confidence. The restoration gave me much appreciation for the inner workings of these machines and it also gave me the confidence I was lacking on overcoming my fear of breaking them down. Several RU-vidrs that have removed the motor/rim and tires made it seem difficult at best when in fact, it wasn't that challenging after all. Again, thank you for your support and I will definitely keep it up. ;)
I love my 18-xl, with my nikola plus the 18-xl wasnt getting much attention, ive been riding it the past few days, for a sub 31mph wheel its the best on the market imo. Its sooo smooth. Excellent video Vee.
Wow, how can someone destroy a wheel like that, particularly when it's not fully their wheel? Great video Vee - you like to do things the right way, with patience 👊
Thank you for your kind words. Also, I find folks that thirst for speed and jumping and the like are the ones that tend to destroy wheels. Had I suspected the individual would damage my 18L the way he did, I wouldn't have sold it and kept it a part of my growing collection. But, hindsight being what it is, I can honestly say, I'm much wiser for the wear.. 😅
Wow Vee, this is Ty and I have to say, this is such an incredible job. You definitely know what you're doing and gave the 18L the respectable update it deserves! I gotta ask... What in the world did that kid do to the poor wheel?!
Wow! Impressive Vee you can throw down on & off the wheel. You got some skills! I’m about to purchase my first wheel so I’ve been watching a lot of videos. Love your channel. Peace & Positive energy.
🙏, thank you for expressing your thoughts and opinion as well as your feedback. I'm super glad you like it. Again, thank you for your support. I truly appreciate you. P.S: Congrats on your new purchase. Which wheel will you be getting?
I expect when he bent the rim he got tossed off that whee pretty goodl. What a shame someone would treat you like that. In the end, you still have a beautiful wheel. I hope whoever did all that damage has the decency to cough up the money you had to spend to get your 18L back in riding order, even if he pays you little at a time. That doesn't even take into account the time and frustration you went through to get it rolling again. There is no excuse for that.
From the looks of it, he had several hard spills on the wheel., not only was the rim bent, but the trolley handle was bent and couldn't go down properly amongst other things. As far as paying me back the money that was owed on the wheel and or recouping the additional money that was spent to resurrect it to it's former self., NOPE! But it's all good, lesson learned. 😊
Thank you for your feedback and support. I greatly appreciate it and you. Sorry for the delayed response. I did not get notified of your response until just now as I was responding to other comments.
I can understand if someone causes a few scuffs to the pedals but whoa that damage was excessive. Makes me think it was a serious accident... so I'm thinking were they badly injured and did they compensate you for your time and wheel? Adorable dog btw! 😊 🙌🏾
First, thank you for taking time to support the channel and sharing with me your thoughts on the matter. It truly means a lot. As for the person being hurt., not on your life. From what was told to me when I inquired about the damage was, they saw how effortlessly I was doing some of the tricks on my wheels that they were trying to teach themselves the same so they could, "Keep up" with me. [I'd hate to say it sounds like he was ego tripping.] Suffice it to say, "No" I was not compensated for the repairs I made to the wheel. I knew that wasn't going to happen because I was still owed money on the wheel when I sold it to him at a fraction of what I had originally intended to sell it for. That's what happens sometimes when you have a bleeding heart. Lesson learned. :)
Hi Vee. Did you replace the 18L motor with the upgraded 2200 watt motor? Will you do a test review of the upgrade and whether or not you could tell the difference from the original? Ride safe🙏
Unfortunately I did not because I had not intended on riding/keeping the wheel. My 16x has the 2200w motor and you definately feel the difference in the pick-up, because for real, for real., outside the diameter of the two wheels (the 16x and the 18L/XL), all else is equal when comparing the motor.
