+New●Jersey You seriously didn't get it? Its about how 2 people met each other and lost due to WW2 Russia vs Germany. And how much damage war created for other people. This is why you see all the old people cry in the audience. Because they lived through that and lost their relatives. This was a very emotional act

What I find so awesome about this isn’t the idea of just making pretty sand drawings, she’s telling a story through a unique medium, one that’s actually interesting to consider. As a storytelling medium, she uses it quicker than anyone could draw normally, there’s a visual aspect to it, it’s live, intimate, elegant and surprisingly cohesive, there is no other medium that does everything better. This is just art, full stop.

You should check out her other performances as she was competing on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions edition
@giampaolofini1535
@giampaolofini1535 Год назад
Other things to consider is the use of performing live to a set music recording, she can't take her time to get every detail perfect and has to keep moving the progression of the story along in tempo. While this is a constraint in a way, there's a live stage performance opportunity- like she does with rapidly drawing the faces in agony at 3:30 when the driving staccato/fortissimo strings part starts, and ends that segment with what looks like a mushroom cloud-like conflagration until right when that segment ends the "fallout" transitions into being a woman's wavy hair. She also times the "reveal" of when the final form she's working towards comes at the most evocative measure in the music like the shape she's making at the end is the baby reflecting the dead father. (I might be reaching on these next two:) some of the motions of her hands while she's shaping the sand also seem to add something static forms of visual media don't have, as in both times she goes back to form the tear drops on the women's faces, it's a similar motion a person would do to wipe the tears from another's face (which could be the artist just tidying up details or could be intentional emotive import) and during the transitions, before the final form of what she's intending is clear, the set up with the sand pouring or first stage of shaping can form a shape that makes us jump to conclusions like shadowplay/rorschach test and then seconds later it's reveled to be something else which keeps the viewers eyes and brain more engaged than nearly any other medium (e.g. would be towards the end at 6 min mark when she's forming the orthodox cathedral's dome for a second it looks like the hand of God/puppetmaster ordaining the way things play out, which is germane somewhat even when it's later revealed to be a holy building- I admit that one's maybe just me, but it just shows the potential power of the medium to engage memories/imagination).

At 2:03 she draws 10 people in 2 and a half seconds. This is the most brilliant piece is drawing I have ever seen. I am told very often that I have drawing skills. And from time to time I come here to see how much I have left to learn.

I also did slowed it down to 1/4 speed. She used ONE right hand and just flitter flatter her hand across the canvas and magically formed those people, ready for the detailing. How many hours do you need to practice to get this proficient and the accuracy with the speed is unfathomable. Also the storytelling is excellent, I have yet have to come across a performance that tops this from all aspect of 'art'. Post a video of you find something that beats this, in all art genre.

This is not the same Ukraine now. Nowadays, such drawings and music can get you imprisoned or beaten up. And now Ukraine's national heroes are not those people who are depicted in the sand.
@liudmilachudina
@liudmilachudina 2 года назад
It is NOT again...this is regarding ww2. IT was about entire Soviet Union being attacked by the German Natzis. It's unfortunate that some of them natzis now still exist...this is what is now in Ukraine. Ukraine is occupied by a good portion of Natzis, and they have a very control over their government, I pity their president, as he can do nothing about it, he's in a trap. Moreover, Ukraine civilians as well as Russian civilians that live there have to suffer due to their barbaric actions. If you know anything about history, please don't confuse the conflicts that go on now with ww2. What's depicted in this sand art is about all the countries affected during ww2...especially Russia, also Ukraine, and all the other countries that were part of Soviet Union. I am opposed war, but it's not the Russians who started today's so called 'war'; there's been a war since 2014, and was led by their Natzis, 14,000 ccivilians died, and it's not Russians who killed them, but these Natzies. Ukrainians will regain their country, ONLY, if they get rid of the Natzies occupying their cities. This is what Russia is trying to do now, the Russians came to protect their people, because it's been going out of hand. Unfortunately, the media show completely different stories, spreading lies and hatred. Prayers for both Russia and Ukraine, and everyone. 🙏 Watch this interview by Scott Ritter, and also look for part 2 of it to get more input on today's events in Ukriane. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--fNrnWxXhP0.html Also, check out documentaries by Oliver Stone on Ukraine.

Yes. Her artwork is amazing! One cannot knock that. But I see no one is talking about her choice of music to match the scenarios. The real reason why people in the audience are in tears is actually because of the music selection. Music can be used to manipulate and amplify emotions. This was brilliantly executed here to cue the audience into what she was trying to convey in her art pieces; whether it was joy, sadness, fear, or longing. What a performance! 👏👏👏👏
@sierramikain6671
@sierramikain6671 3 года назад
Actually it _wasn't_ the music itself that brought people to tears. Did you turn on the CC (subtitles) and watch the video? Because if you did, you would understand that the story she told was of WWII when Germany attacked Russia. I'm sure a lot of people in the audience had family members who died during the war. That is the whole purpose of the story she was telling and that story coupled with the narration (which brings back those painful memories), is the _real_ reason many people were brought to tears.
