Yaa Baby, you have really inspired me, I'm from Ghana but live in Australia, the people here always treat me different, I really hate it, so I feel you, but I admire your courage and the way you acknowledge your husband. You are very intelligent woman. Lots of love from Australia.
@2689 5467 . I honestly would love to teach an African American mine native tongue, but the ones I've come across just want to make a joke out of it. And it saddest me everytime.
Yaa Baby, mo! Mo! Mo! W'ayɛ adeɛ paa ara! Me nso yεfrε me Yaa wɔTwi mu, εfiri sε yεwoo me Yawoada. Wo Twi yε fε fεε fε! Me diɛ, mefiri Kenya, nanso seesei ara mete Texas, US. After watching you speak Twi I feel so inspired to want to continue learning Twi! Medaase paa!
Am so amazed about this talented lady.some of us also faces similar situations in other European countries especially when they get to know that we can speak and understand their language very well.I have had several experiences in Russia
Yaa baby, what you ought to do is to preach the gospel in the Akan language and win more souls for Yeshua🙏🏿. Your gift is beyond “speaking in tongues” WOW
Aaaron, please read about #SamOkyere in South Korea ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tYw967gxCzU.html and ru-vid.com?search_query=sam+okyere+korea) . it is not out of the way that this lady is featured on TV in Ghana considering the effort she might have put into learning Twi and also the efforts at showcasing it.
When you start flaunting it on social media, I believe you will be recognised. Put your candle on the candle stand so it shines for everyone to see. Don't hide in your room and expect to be heard. Besides, we have locals in Ghana who can't speak their local dialect. Even our news anchors struggle to pronounce local names. We now prefer to use English as the measure of intelligence.
I can't stop watching this lady's video. even, some Ghanaians, I mean, the Akans can't even speak Twi like her. some Akans even feel Ashamed by speaking their own language. that's how it will take Africans years to develop. Let's appreciate what we have.
No one should be surprised at all. We all have freedom to learn anything we want to learn. Every language can be easily learnt by anyone depending on your seriousness. I can be in my ghetto, browse the internet, go to you tube and learn any language i want to learn. Also the environment which you reside can also influence you to speak the language spoken there. Also that also depends on your willingness to speak the language in that environment. REPLY
Wow she is perfect. She love the culture and tradition and became a part of it. Now she is a Ghanaian gal 💯 percent. This is what God gives human beings to live life like this to be humble and love in this world. God bless you and your family in Ghana and In America. BIG LOVE.

Let me say this, some Ghanaians do not even value their language they think being Ghanaian and speaking German is awesome, but they forget how some foreigners also strive to speak our local language, we think others learning our language is not worth writing home about, but we learning and knowing how to speak French, Spanish German, Chinese etc... Is mind blowing and should be on tv.
I am german and I am learning Twi, I wished I had the courage to speak to strangers, there are a lot of ghanaian people where I live. I always think how rude it would be to go to other people assuming they are ghanaians and annoying them with my bad Twi
@@obornyi2407 it okay to try out what u have learnt it only helps in making u better and being fluent at the language, trust me people will appreciate u more just by knowing that you are trying, they might mess with you a bit but they will cooperate you on the language speaking.
Stephania Griffith welcome= Medaase She is talking about coming to Ghana with her parents and she met her husband at church in Ghana. she learnt Twi from friends. She lives in Ghana but visits the US quite often. basically that's it
Lynn Dhar- sorry, but your translation was a little off- 'Medase' means 'thank you', 'akwaba' means 'welcome'- a little surprised you got this basic translation wrong?- he actually said in English "welcome to the show" and she replied "medase"- it wouldn't make sense for her to reply "welcome" since she was the guest.
Dammit, lazy Stephanie Griffith, what's stopping you from going out there to learn just as Yaa babe did .Sit out there and wait for captions lol.The next caption will be in Swahili
Beautyisbyrosi, good to know you speak German. Congrats! I only know one or two words in German. :) Mepa wo kyεw, let's appreciate Yaa Baby. She sounds amazing! It's not everyone who can speak a foreign language the way she is speaking. I'm from Kenya, never been to Ghana, nanso meka Twi kasa (Asante Twi) kakra. Me nso me Twi din de Yaa (εfiri sε yεwoo me Yawoada). Onyankopɔn adom nti, mepε sε meka Twi kasa yie paa, ɛnna mepε sε nso metu kwan kɔ Ghana. Twi kasa yεdε pa paa pa! Yaa Baby has really inspired me to continue learning Twi. :)
People out here saying it's "normal" as if they bump into white folks in gh speaking twi all da time . If you able to speak English it's probably because you learned it in school/were taught. again if u are able to speak German or any other language it's because u need to speak it to get around there since that's wat is spoken. In her case, she doesn't/ didn't need to learn how to speak twi because English is our 2nd language and everybody virtually speaks it . As much as I don't like kissing white folks ass, the fact that she made da effort to learn how speak it and so fluently is what is amazing ..don't sit there and act like u weren't and isn't surprised she can indeed speak and express her self so well 🙄
Nana Nketiah I love your comment here . You are making lot of sense . People learn when they are in need of it . Yaa didn’t need our language, however , she strives to learn it and be perfect out of it. So , she did a good job .
Chloe is very black now folks let’s show her love “in 🇺🇸 if white goes black that’s point of no return” and it takes lots selfless sacrifice to be who she now lots of respect to her 👍🏿
She is a linguist and yet the Same can be said to be of African or black children who can speak the French the English Language since 1960 or 1970 or even 1980.
She is unusual because very few Americans have shown this ability to speak the Twi Language at this Capacity unless one stayed in an Akan Environment for at least 5 years to 10 years later.
Yes I understand you but YOU know what? I am also in Germany and they do the same to us they insult. us anyhow by the way I am impresed seeing you speaking twi keep it up..
The thing people need to understand is culture shapes you not colour. Any human from any coutry can adopt another's language and mannerisms if their authentic and study really well. It's part gift part simply being human.
Yeah.... Yaa Baby for you. You have embraced the "Kumasi Br)fo" very well. "solly"

There is no stigma around your whiteness in Ghana, Chloe. What you enjoy is white privilege. Identify it correctly so that the discomfort you feel around it drives you to change this perception Ghanaians hold about you. It's also as a result of colonialism. As a Ghanaian, I detest this attitude and have called a lot of white people and Ghanaians out for it. Few 'obronis' acknowledge their complicity even when they are called out. You sound sincere and I hope this is not simply for publicity.
On the surface, I commend her and anyone who can submerge into a foreign culture and learn the language fluently and respect the culture. To that I say, well done. Below the surface, I say to Ghanaians to be very careful! Pay close attention to historical records. A certain class of people are notorious for venturing into foreign lands and befriending the people just to learn enough to overtake it and exterminate and subjugate the natives. BE VERY CAREFUL. The new trend is to mix their seed with the natives to gain a foothold in the culture. When this happens to a large degree, the full-breeds are removed. Look around the world. There's nothing new under the sun. No hate. Just reality.
