Nonono, I'm a student, currently on summer holiday. The reason for the inconsistency of videos is that one can take several days to make, and I'd like to do other stuff as well apart from this (including relaxing). But it also depends on many other factors. Sometimes I'll release a lot, sometimes there will be weeks of silence, but I'm trying to keep it at least kinda consistent :)

I tried this in my KSP, all you have to do to get it to work correctly is to point the winglets down rather than up.

Hello, Danny2462, I looked at this video and thought, "Hmm, could I make this too?". I ended up spinning SO FAST it sent me on an escape trajectory from Kerbin before I even decoupled the drop pod from the launch vehicle. There were some emergency LV-909's on mine, so I use them, and ended up with a encounter with Kerbin with a perapsis of 9~ kilometers. I hoped to land safely, but I slingshot from a gravity assist from the Mun (unintentional) and now I am in a 12400~ km to 300~ km orbit. And I have another gravity assist coming from the Mun again D=.

This isn't useless. If you do this properly, you can have a transport vehicle that uses no fuel in atmospheres and weighs next to nothing.

I've done this before, but without wings. I just made a big metal ball that was hyper reinforced, it slowed down to 75m/s and just smacked into the ground, unfolded and became a working probe!

I am looking forward to more absurd contraptions!

The advantage of drop pods over parachutes is that they fall much quicker and only slow down close to the ground, thus avoiding a lot of anti-air fire.

this is better than a command pod because it's lighter, can carry more kerbals (1-4 and maybe 6), and chutes are pretty heavy (0.2 for a drogue, 0.3 for a big regular, 0.15 for a radially attached one, and 0.1 for a small chute)

Hmm... That's actually an interesting bit of engineering. You might have better luck using four landing gear wheels mounted in such a way that they would allow the pod to rotate once on the ground. I'm not sure on that, though... All that aside... Yet another hilarious video. You, sir, are awesome.

You can also use a tail segment, the impact tolerance of the part it strong enough to resist 2000+ m/s velocity if the command pod has the heavy landing legs.

This thing can be done like helicopters do a landing without engine. Theyfirst use the wind blowing up the blades (from falling) to spin them fast. Then they change the pitch the other way so they generate lift. Do that over and over to slow yourself enough.
