I hope you enjoyed this video! Never made a floating ocean base in KSP, so it's exciting to finally make a floating ocean base on Laythe! Perhaps I ought to do a floating one on Eve as well ;)

Make a small Seabase on Laythe Series? -Submarine -Speedboat -Seaplane -Emergency Pods which shoot you into Orbit :3 -Underwater base -Use that Little Submarine with 2x Dockingports on top ans bottom to make a Shuttle/Elevator

Yes, he should do that, but how is something going to shoot the pods into ORBIT when that takes heat shields, a TON of power, some more fuel, and - wait, it can just be flown into orbit, although it needs to have a boost for good measures.

I don't know if there are mods for this, but a floating station in Jool's atmosphere would be awesome! The launch procedure would be something like undocking (drop) and activate engines. But good luck docking to it.

I'd like to mention you have cosine losses whenever you are not pointing prograde. 2:46 You would use a lot less fuel for that same maneuver if you kept pointing prograde rather than being fixed to the maneuver vector. Keep in mind, however, that this will also slightly raise your periapsis. If you want to keep the Oberth effect, you should begin by having your periapsis slightly inside the atmosphere (though you never actually enter the atmosphere because you start burning prograde long before that).

To make that submersible able to move around and dock to the base, attach an a turbine on the bottom that can work underwater. For the docking part replace the decoupler with a docking port and put a docking port on the capsule top and add RCS thruster. Boom a better submersible!

I'm trying to make an SSTO (mk2) that can carry a cargo of around 4.2t (life support re-supply mission), that can also carry 4-9 passengers, and be able to dock with the space station in a Polar orbit around Kerbin at 500k, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting into orbit. Any tips?

Minor correction: the most efficient point to perform a *prograde/retrograde* burn is at periapsis, yes, but that is not true for other burns (e.g., plane changes). If you can combine plane changes with ither maneuvers, then it might be more efficient to do them at periapsis, but generally speaking radial and normal burns are best performed at apoapse when possible.

Hey Matt. I noticed that when ejecting from Kerbin's SOI you opened a three-button menu on a maneuver node and clicked a buton with a plus sign on it. What was that?

When you right click on the manuver note, you can choose in wich orbit you want to do the manuver. exaple: the next time you visit this point, you should do the burn. Pressing the + after right clicking: the second time you visit. And so on (im bad in explaining and sorry for the language im from germany)

Learning question: How did you plan the multi-burn transfer so that you would not miss the window? Did you have to test each burn, add the intervals between the burns, revert, and then subtract the sum from the final departure time?

You should try that one mode that adds the ballast tanks and stuff to make a proper submarine that can move around and what not and even have a proper boat maybe, also adds scuba gear for Kerbals so thats cool
