Once you guys do, it pretty much makes the game much easier, in the mean time you could use a strategy where you time it until it forms a half of a right angle, then launch, get your self into orbit and try to match your orbit, even if your docking with a space station once you dock you’re trajectory becomes the stations meaning you’re now apart of the station. Basically learn to dock now, reap so much benefits later.

My theory on how laythe has liquid water is similar to how mars had water, through geothermal vents heating the water so that it doesn't freeze and this could potentially explain the atmosphere being similar to kerbin.

You should do a series where you recreate the history of space flight on Earth. For example, you would start with a Sputnik launch, and then continue from there building space stations and stuff. You obviously wouldn’t have to do every single launch and build all the Soviet stations because they built several. I don’t know, it might be boring but it’s an idea

There is a collective real life version of Laythe around Jupiter: Europa, Callisto, and another one of the large moons if I recall correctly. The reason why is because they actually do have some oxygen in their atmosphere (albeit extremely thin) and contain liquid oceans due to tidal force heating. Jupiter also produces a tremendous amount of radiation (for being called a failed star that is) due to its extreme magnetic field and is theorized to have metallic hydrogen at its core, circa Scott Manley’s video on that matter. As for sources there’s a few year old blog called BeyondEarth or something like that which had interesting info on exoplanets, primarily to document findings with Gas Giants, Brown Dwarfs, and habitable planets. The reason why gas giants are considered failed stars is because sometimes they may form by gas collection collapses should their mass get too high, in the same way Brown Dwarfs form, as well as the primary reason for containing Helium and hydrogen. It makes the line between stars of 9Mj (Jovian mass) and over and gas giants pretty blurred, the current line based on the fusion of deuterium.

Titans atomsphere isnt oxygenated BECAUSE it doesnt have bodies of water, and as you said, methane instead. Lythe on the other hand, DOES have water, which is what would be causing the atmosphere. Its basic thermodynamics and how evaporation works.

For your nerdy information, a moon around a gas giant could sustain liquid water via gravitational heating. The orbital resonances with other moons (which indeed are present in the case of Jool) would periodically produce very high tidal forces on the moon. This would stretch and compress the moon's mantle and crust (should it exist) and provide tons of geothermal energy, which could heat the water. Now, that being said, on the surface, the atmosphere would still be very cold, since this form of heating is very inefficient for gases, but underground oceans would certainly be possible. For surface oceans to exist, some form of extreme greenhouse gases would need to be present, in order to maximally retain heat. This would not mean the atmosphere was deoxygenated, but it would, however make it unbreathable. For something like Laythe to exist in reality, it would have to be either: much closer to the star (a "hot Jupiter"); going around a much hotter star; or orbiting a gas giant which was large enough to radiate considerable energy (maybe something like a Brown Dwarf). Hope this was helpful!

4:00 Ok, this comment turned out quite long, so here is a summary: Lathe became how it is today due to a high amount of geothermal activities. Even though the radioaktive "fuel" of lathe has already run out, the gravitational pull from Jool and Its moons still keeps it warm. and now the long version: I think the reason why Lathe is the way it to be has maybe something to do with geothermal activities. Geothermal activities on earth occur because of radioactive elements, decaying at the center of the earth. Maybe Lathe has a lage core composed mainly of highly radioaktive elements, leading to a very high amount of geothermal activities. But why dont you see volcanoes on the surface above the oceans? I have an Idea for this too. I think that the mantle of lathe might be composed of liquid carbon, or a component containing carbon. I think Carbon is the most likely because The crust might be made of graphine, one of the strongest materials in the world, that just so happens to be made purely out of carbon. The carbon in the mantle near the core is heated up and travels towards the surface, cooling down in the process. Lathe is pretty small with pretty deep oceans, so I think what happnes now is that, at the bottom of the ocean the crust is thin enough to break and let the carbon escape into the ocean, and warm it up. However, the crust at the Islands of lathe is to thick to for the liquid carbon to break, because it is 1 made out of graphine and 2 the liquid carbon just takes the path that presents the least resistance, which is why you cant see volcanoes on the islands. So now we know why the water is liquid, and why you cant see volcanoes. But why does it have a breathablen athmosphere. As you probably know our earth has a magnatic field, caused by the geothermal activities in the earths core. If lathe has a high amount of geothermal activitys, It must have a very strong magnetic field. And if you move a conductor though a magnetic field, you get electricity. I think that the acending liquid carbon might create a small amount of current. When it exits the crust at the bottom of the ocean, that small amount of current is able to split the water into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen would now do one of three thing. It would mix with the hydrogen , catch fire due to the high temperatures and turn back into water. It would form carbondioxide with the carbon, or it would acent to the surface, because it cant dissolve into water at high temperatures. At some point during its acent it wiuld cool down enough to at least partially dissolve into the water. The rest would rise to the surface and into the atmosphere. Over Billions of years the water would be unable to hold anymore oxygen, preventi g it from dissolving into the oceans. From that point on it was only able to escape into the atmosphere. The Hydrogen would probably form some compound with the carbon, like methane or propane. Now, you might say, that you cant see carbon exiting the surface of lathes oceans eighther, and i think that might be for a reason. You see, maybe lathe has already used up all its radioaktive material, much like the mars in our solar system. But unlike mars, Lathe is likely to keep its atmosphere. You see, lathe doesnt need an magnetic field to protect its atmosphere, because it is to far away from the Sun. Marses atmosphere was blown away by solar winds after it lost its magnetic field, but lathe is to far away from the sun for this to happen. I you might think that lathe would have cooled down by now, but that isnt the case eighther. Lathe is the inner most moon of Jool, meaning that lathe is pulled towards jool by its gravitational pull, but also towards all the other moons behind it. That can lead to geothermal activities, because lathe is squished around by them. Not a lot, but probably enough to keep the oceans warm kind of warm. I think that the water might be salty, lowering its freezing temperatur, and keeping the oceans liquid

Well, thought about the same thing ... sort of back in 1.4.x I think in KSP. One large space station at 9000km from Kerbin. One between Duna and Ike and one in the Jool system. I was going to build the second KSC on Laythe. There was a mod that added the ability to go to another star system from Kerbol. Just never got around to it. Work and the farm had most of my time. Since I had to rebuild my save am trying to get the one around Duna and a base on Duna and Ike for material mining so I can launch crafts from there. Am about to finally get to Moho in a bit. From when I started there was talk about it burning up the heat shields if you got too close to the star. Eve I never tried to land on and get off. I heard it was a royal pain in the backside. I have been to it's moon. I figure KSP 2 will be out maybe soon and I have to start over again. Am just going to do a science save. Not interested in the other rubbish. I do plan to land on Jool sometime after Moho. *cough* *cough*. Really it's a atmosphere probe to record data and beam it somewhere before it burns up. Just wonder how deep can I go before that happens.

Well if lathe has a high enough atmospheric pressure it could sustain liquid water for example ice has a lower density then waters when put under pressure the melting point will decrease also the Kármán line is the point at witch the atmosphere becomes too thin to support aeronautical flight I.E. you would have to be going faster then orbital velocity to gain substantial lift
