"Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" is inspired by old blues, Nashville psycho hillbillies & hazy memories. It tells the story of finding yourself lost on your path, and a choice has to be made. It's about gambling, fate, listening to your heart, and having the strength to fight the darkness that's always willing to carry you off. - Tunstall Unfortunately, there is no Cherry Tree.

I think the cherry tree is what you love so much that has you tied to the world. Like when she saw the horse go crazy at the olive tree that reminded her of the cherry tree saying. Also I think it was originally from Scottish folk lore long before Scottish folk.

When I was about 8, My ma used to have the music channels on the TV and the music video for this song came on. It was just that one day and I fell in love with this song. That was in 2004, after that for 17 years I completely forgot about the song up until one morning Other Side Of The World (another song by KT) randomly came into my head out of the blue and I searched for it and instantly remembered it, then I seen the thumbnail for this song/video and I thought she looks familiar, as soon as the woohoos started it all came flooding back and the same with suddenly I see aswell from 2005

The only reason KT isn't more popular is because she doesn't dance across the stage half-naked, and her music isn't all techno. Everybody has become so unorignal. Tunstall is a REAL artist. She can sing, she doesn't need help from technology, she can play guitar, rather well I might add, and she can write some awesome lyrics. She is a true orignal, and a great talent. KT is the whole package! Keep on rocking!

I still remember, when i was younger, i used to hate this song. I found it really annoying, it was on VH1 literally all the time. First time I heart from KT was when I saw a series of a lawyer who is blind (Die Heiland- tödliche Tropfen) and immediatly I stopped to listen to the hole song. Great, grea , grea ! I love it and, btw., I love the presentation, too!
